I loved this cute coffee shop I stumbled upon!!! I am not from this area, but needed a coffee bad before I presented at a career day at a nearby school & this the perfect place!!! Such a cozy coffee shop with so many things to offer: nice workers, many coffee/breakfast options, stickers, cute indoor area, and plenty of parking out front!! I decided on a bacon, egg, & cheese croissant sandwich paired with a vanilla latte!!! Both delicious!! The sandwich was bigger than I thought and stayed warm while I was eating it!!! My latte was also delicious, a classic iced vanilla latte, that gave me enough energy to take on a bunch of 5th graders!!! Guy at the counter was friendly , think he put the chicken oriental salad together which I ate . Lettuce sparsely chicken and oranges. The food and coffees are always great here, but the overall service is sub-par. There is usually only one person working there, and it is clear they are overwhelmed which leads to an unwelcoming environment. Sometimes they are a little short with customers which is not great customer service. I noticed some glaring issues on my receipt where I was overcharged on items relative to the prices on their website. I wasn't overcharged by a lot but it is dishonest work. Additionally, I was charged sales tax on takeout orders which are tax exempt. This is a more serious issue since they are inappropriately assessing sales tax and likely generating profit from doing this. read more

I have never had a coffee shop tell me I can't have a sleeve for my iced drinks when I ordered and paid for a drink. This place does not seem friendly and I would not recommend it. read more

I used to love going here but unfortunately the barista in the afternoons the last few times had not been welcoming. I also ordered an iced latte with blueberry and pistachio, it came in with chunks in it. Walked into this place and it was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the winter. It was clean, open, and cutely decorated. The parking situation was street parking on a main street, but I didn't have a problem parking across the street around ~1130 on a weekday and walking over to the shop. There was only one woman working and it was a little busy but she was professional and busting her butt. I ordered a black blonde roast coffee and a chicken cranberry salad. I thought the coffee was tasty. The salad itself was fresh and delicious. They also have seasonal drinks and fancier drinks like mochas and lattes, as well as sandwiches and wraps. I had a great experience studying here for a couple hours. There's two rooms, one with the counter and a smallish table and the other with about 6 tables and a couch. There's a lot of windows and the sun comes in nicely. There wasn't any other people studying at this time, so it was nice and quiet and a good environment to focus. All in all, I thought it was clean here, the service was good, the coffee was tasty, and the salad was fresh. I come here about once every 4-6 weeks to catch up with a friend. They are always clean, neat and friendly. 3 stars is because I'm tired of drinks I can't drink. My go to drink is a black unsweet tea, hot or cold. I've tried other drinks in the past. Those were never good. This time I wanted to try something different. I asked for an iced chi with 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla. Then they asked if I wanted it hot or cold. I looked at them and said cold. (Really? Iced chi doesn't imply cold?). After paying, they proceeded to put 5 pumps of sugar free vanilla in the cup. 5! More than double what I asked. I took a deep breath and said to myself, give it a go. Nope. That drink was so gross. I just took tiny sips until our get together was over and threw the whole thing away outside. I drank cold vanilla. No chai could be found. It was soooooo sweet. It was awful. I wish Starbucks was here instead. Lesson learned. Never getting anything except unsweet tea or water here. read more

Phyllo cinnamon roll was bland, cold like the fridge, and hard. The regular cinnamon roll was ten times better with plenty of cinnamon paste in between the layers even though it was too cold and kinda hard also. The sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich I had made on a wrap was nice. It needed so spices or salsa for sure but the wrap actually was very soft and whole wheat with good flavor from that. This is one of the closest coffee shops to my house and I've been frequenting some of the Kent ones, which are also close, but wanted to try it out. Very cute inside and a great vibe for meeting a friend for coffee and catch up or looking for a quiet reading or work place. I got my usual I order mostly everywhere, an iced vanilla latte. It didn't disappoint. The double chocolate muffin my husband and I split was large, fresh, and deliciously sweet. I love a dense muffin. We each got bagels, too and while nothing special, they were fresh and nicely toasted. There were several other delicious looking pastries I'd like to go back and try but I was really craving a bagel this day and didn't want to go too carb crazy. We enjoyed the ambiance inside and they had a shelf with games and books which would be fun if you wanted to stick around with friends for a while. I'll be back! read more

The space is dark and smells like they just cleaned their ovens - a burnt, chemical smell. The cinnamon roll tasted like freezer burn; it would appear they aren't making their pastries fresh. Finally, I didn't get a stirstick with my tea, and didn't see any on the counter, so I had to wait till I got home to drink my drink. Unfortunately, our scones were ice cold...what? Not expecting that. I honestly do not understand all the positive reviews, this place was awful. My mom and I went today and ordered two medium iced chai lattes, I had a bagel with cream cheese, and she had some type of sandwich. The lattes were terrible. We told the cashier and she said she could remake them with "less milk." Um okay. She remade them and they still tasted bad (never mind the dirt that was in the ice cubes). Also, my bagel wasn't very warm. All this for close to $17. My mom was still hungry so she went and got a blueberry muffin for us to share. This muffin was so dry and the top tasted disgusting. I cannot believe this place is still in business. I will never go back and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

The moment the sole of my shoe slapped the ground of this store I was blasted with knowledge that the ambience was off the charts. There were couches. There were chairs. There was a long winding hall to reach the bathroom. They had everything you could hope for in a coffee shop except the ability to crack an egg and make an actual egg sandwich. The egg and cheese sandwich I ordered was clearly pre-packaged and did NOT taste NEARLY as good as mama used to make. And let me tell you, mama was a terrible chef. On a positive, cheerful note, my butler enjoyed the reasonably priced, perfectly brewed, iced black coffee. "Mmmmmmm" is what he said a lot, until I told him to shut up and get my coat. I had high hopes for Ravennas answer to Starbucks, as I had gone in when they first opened. In the last few months I have not had a decent coffee, seems watered down. We came here for lunch on a Sunday. We had the turkey club and chicken bacon ranch panini. Both sandwiches were delicious- fresh ingredients, "real" lettuce (not iceberg) and the panini was crispy. They also have a great selection of soups that change daily, and even though I was very happy with my panini I was jealous of the salads that were brought out to the people at the next table. Was very displeased.. what i thought would be a fresh homemade bakery type of cafe was all frozen and cold. Everything we ordered was frozen. The sausage and egg and cheese croissant was as unappetizing as it looked. The muffin was frozen and when I asked where something was made they said we don't make it we just buy it! I find the standards of some of these reviews to be a little silly. Bean and the Baker is a small, hometown coffee shop that helps to fund programs (and training) for adults with disabilities, and mental health issues. They have now started baking some of their bakery items in house and their drinks are customizable and delicious. I am an AVID frequenter of Bean and Baker and I'm constantly bringing friends and family here. I have nothing bad to say about this lovely little home town gem. read more
