Porchlight coffee is a very good space for working. There's plenty of seating and even a back room with a large conference table. The chai was really lovely. Love this place. We've lived in Akron for a little over a year and I don't know how we haven't been here yet. We had cold brew and an iced caramel latte. Both were awesome. I had never been to the Porchlight before. Upon entering, I was not greeted, and stood trying to figure out how to order. No one acknowledged me. After ordering my food, part of it was brought to me by a young lady. I thanked her. She just stared at me saying nothing. When she brought the second part of my food, I thanked her again. Once again she stared at me, almost glaring saying nothing in response. I order the egg soufflé sandwich on sourdough. Though well plated, the sandwich was quite dry. The atmosphere is the cafe is the only reason I gave 2 stars. It is beautifully decorated and clean. I purchased a macchiato here. The presentation was OK and the flavor was just OK. A little acidic if I was basing my review just on my Cortado. It probably would be a three. However, I feel like I need to try different cups of coffee here and this is my first experience here. The atmosphere is amazing. The workspace is amazing. They have free Wi-Fi. The woman that works at the counter was super friendly and engaging. She also let me know that they make all their simple syrups and HOUSE, which I think is a huge plus if I was basing my review on that it would be a five. Atmosphere would be a 5. Making the rounds on coffee shops, the next stop on my list was Porchlight Coffee. I ordered a 16 oz iced vanilla latte. Price was cool at $5.50, which is what I typically expect to pay at most places. The latte was great - nice balance of the espresso with just the right amount of vanilla. Chef's kiss. 10/10 Ambiance: light, bright, spacious, with plants in the windows. I showed up two hours before close, and I was able to find a table near an outlet. Music has a bit of an indie folk vibe. I like that I see an ethnically diverse crowd. I was able to park in the lot next to the cafe. I appreciate that. First time here, won't be the last time. I definitely plan on arriving earlier than later so I can get some good work time in. There also seems to be a meeting room with a dry erase board, where folks can gather and close the doors. I don't do meetings but if I did, this is good to know. Caveat: this cafe has more of a "community gathering" vibe than a "work from home" vibe so unless you are sitting at a table near the walls, you won't have access to an outlet. To maximize your visit, charge your laptop at home if you plan on working here for a few hours. Anyways, come on through. I know I will. read more

Their tea comes from The Tea Dude in Medina, Ohio and is excellent. Currently they have bagels from the best bread company in Ohio, Brimfield Bread Oven. Equipment. Rancilio Espresso machine, Mazzer grinders, and Fetco coffee brewer. Decor. Minimalist coffee shop decor. Simple wooden furniture, classic white subway tiles on the bar and the wall behind the bar, ornate ceiling, beautiful tan crafted benches, and wooden bar countertop. An assortment of beautiful local art is hung sparingly on the walls featuring several local artists. Bios of each artists and a blurb about their work hang with their art. Hip music fills the space with a cool, relaxing vibe. There is a meeting space that has a whiteboard and tv and seats about 8-10 people. An assortment of seating meets the need for just about any person or group. Leather chairs and benches accommodate the small to larger groups. There are tables for four and six. Porchlight Coffee is serious about coffee and so you will always get a coffee that is meticulously prepared and tastes great. We stopped by for breakfast and coffee. Awesome place! Delicious breakfast sandwiches. Very happy we came here.

The avocado toast, cold brew and draft vanilla latte were all wonderful. The wait time for the food and the fact that it all came out at very different times was a little frustrating. We ended up waiting 35 minutes for a burrito. They did offer us a free drink card for a future visit and apologized for the wait though. Only other little frustrations were paying $14.50 for 2 pieces of toast because we ordered 1 of each flavor instead of 2 of the same flavor (which would only have cost $10.50), and the peanut butter toast was not like described (it had 4 small slices of apple on it with a lot of peanut butter and a drizzle of honey; there was no spiced apple compote or granola on it like was described on the menu). We also tried to order a nitro cold brew as it's listed on their website, but the person waiting on us said she didn't know what we meant by "nitro" cold brew and that they didn't offer that. All in all, the experience was OK and we will likely visit again for drinks and the avocado toast. read more

Just off of downtown Akron and in a very unassuming area sits this gem of a coffee shop. There is free parking in a lot to the right of the building. Once inside, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and we were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable barista. I ordered the cafe miel (a latte with local Akron honey and cinnamon) with oat milk and my husband ordered the rose latte. We chose to stay in and sit a while and our drinks came in cozy mugs. Also ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! Brought right to us at our table, it included souffléd egg, bacon, arugula, and a lovely Dijon sauce. The inside is very spacious. It's a good place to study or a first date location. The service is also amazing (all the staff members are super kind and caring). My friend and I ended up splitting the breakfast sandwich, grilled cheese (it was so good I forgot to take the picture), and a side of seasoned potatoes. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good, but I wasn't the biggest fan since I didn't like the sauce they use as much. The grilled cheese was to die for (highly recommend this to everyone). The potato's were also crispy, and the seasoning was good but slightly overwhelming. Coffee is also top notch (highly recommend). Truly a skillfully crafted coffee menu along with flavor-packed food options. My absolute favorite menu item is their harvest Cobb salad. I CAN'T GET ENOUGH!
