He assured me it wasn't a problem, so I let it go...I'm new to South Bend, and when I noticed the little bump was getting bigger, I saw Dr. Pantalena. He is a SURGICAL dermatologist, and, like my brother, an MD/PhD graduate of Stanford University. Pantalena has extensive Mohs certification--seriously, look this up if you don't know what it is. Dr. Pantalena took one look at my bumpy eye and said, "Sure, no problem." He was cautious and calm, and his support staff is very professional. He also removed a benign lesion from my nose...and two months later, the incision is virtually invisible. The only reason Dr. Pantalena does not get five stars is that his Beacon Health office is NOT LATEX FREE. They accommodated my sensitivity, but I believe that dermatology offices should strive to be latex-free environments.

Saw a Dr. here. He was 45 minutes late for 1st appt. Ok, it happens…read more Called repeatedly for results. Finally told that surgery is needed. Waited for weeks to get a date set. Each time I called there was a 25 minute hold period before speaking with anyone. Then got the 'pass the buck' routine. After almost 2 months had to call in the day before to find out what TIME they wanted me to arrive. Considering that preparations as a diabetic with a heart condition such as medications that needed to be stopped for surgery, pre-op and transportation issues due to being under anesthesia I rate this place as incompetent. Praying surgery goes better!!!
