Would never recommend this place. Bad experience from beginning to end. If you can search other locations to be better service you, do so. My dad was referred by his primary doctor back in March 2026. They had mentioned to me this office changed management so be patient regarding a call back. I tried making an appointment for my dad, they wouldn't give to him an appointment until they got his hospital records from 2013. The receptionist said they'll double-check with the doctor and would call me back. Never got a call back. I finally was able to get a hold of someone but they said everyone was at lunch and she did not know anything about a call back. Very rude lady. I asked if she knew if I really needed my father's hospitalization records, she said to call back because she doesn't know. Then My dad's primary doctor office called them and explained the hospitalization was not relevant to his referral and they were able to schedule my dad a visit 4/15. I was still informed the hospital records from 2013 were still needed. On 3/27 I took my dad to sign an authorization to release of information so they can get my dad's hospital records. Today, on 4/15 he went to his scheduled appointment and I was informed by the front desk they tried calling my dad to notify him the doctor had an emergency and the appointment had to be rescheduled. Apparently they did not have his correct contact number. They never checked if my dad's number was updated when I went on 3/27, which is basic protocol to check contact information at an office assisting the public. Also the authorization release of information was never faxed to the hospital to retrieve records from the 2013 hospitalization. The girl at the front desk said they faxed it three times today however I could go directly to the hospital to request his records. They rescheduled my dad with a tentative date, as the records needed to be received in order to be seen by the doctor. At this point he decided to take his business elsewhere and didn't want to come back to this unorganized provider. I agree, very frustrating and a waste of time. I hope they find a better way to hold people responsible to do their job and have back up doctors. read more

Was calling to come here for a test and get a workup done, they make it very difficult to schedule a new patient appointment, i have PPO insurance(needs no referral) but they kept asking for one and insurance verification which usually you can email or give the number of your insurance cards over the phone. Called a few other places and didnt have this issue they were just scheduling further out and these guys had earlier openings. Ended up going somewhere else in fullerton and was alot easier, no hassle, no referral, and i sent them a picture of my insurance to verify. read more

Avoid The P.A's. At all cost. If you are currently or considering becoming a patient at this office. 1. They never return calls regarding concerns about anything. 2. When the P. A. Fatima gives instructions to split an unscored tablet for the heart in half and give to the patient even though it's recommended by the manufacturer not to split cause will not get the proper dosage and she does not show any concern by telling you we always do it, still does not make it correct. These are heart medications, not Tylenol. I am not a dr or a pharmacist, I'm a pharmacy tech, and even I know that is not rite. Incorrect dosage. 3. They try to charge you for phone appointments that they're own P. A. Jocelyn set up and never made. By stating we never answered. 4. When you have to go in to the office due to phone calls not being returned about important side effects happening to the patient to see what to do next is not a good way to care for patients. 5. When you go in the office to see what can be done and why you have not gotten a phone call back, and you're told by the P.A. We have too many calls, shows me and the other patients there is not much concern. read more

I started coming with Dr. Yoshino this year with my mom and I'm very impressed and happy with him! He took the time to go over her medical history and was informative of the test he ordered for her. I know he's a bit rough around the edges and speaks very firmly but I can see it's because he cares about the care of his patients and wants better for us. Will definitely be recommending him! Dr. Yashino is a very unprofessional and ill mannered cardiologist. Trust the reviews people are putting on here because he truly doesn't care about you or your loved ones. I only went to him because I wanted to see a cardiologist asap and he was available, I understand why, he probably loses patients faster than he can accept new ones. Rude, condescending, and agitated with questions about your health or interpretation of results from tests. As a nurse I understand the tests and results and when I asked what they were he said "Why? You wouldn't understand" and then blurted out the result and left the room. I think he forgot I was a nurse which is worse because this is how he treats his patients with no medical background and no understanding. I can at least look at my chart and know what's going on. As a nurse that has worked with many doctors with varied levels of professionalism he takes the cake on the worst provider I have ever come across. I don't like bashing providers because most of the times the ones with terrible bedside manner are savants when it comes to medicine but this guy is terrible all around. read more

After receiving the approval from our PCP and scheduling an appointment with this Cardiologist. On the day of the appointment, my mother who is in her early sixties had a mix-up providing insurance. After speaking with the attendant over the phone, I attempted to explain to her that this was a mix-up and my mother's pacemaker had not been checked for over 6 months. We needed this appointment. She refused to accept the correct insurance and told me to refer to our other insurer and request authorization through them. Now we are left with no appointment for perhaps 2 weeks to a month until we regroup with our PCP and get approval from our PCP for a different cardiologist. Overall an appointment was lost due to a mix-up. Regardless if you have a physical copy of the approval from your PCP, you will be shown the door. My Cardiologist, Dr Paul Yoshino, at CMA, in Downey,Ca, was assigned to me by my PCP, Dr Laura Ryan. My FIRST visit was a consultation due to the fact that UCI, ORANGE, has been my medical facility since 2016...when I set the appointment a month prior, I gave his staff the code to download ALL MY RECORDS from UCI...All they had to do was go online, enter the code, and download ALL MY RECORDS FROM UCI. When Dr Yoshino came in, after a 45 minute wait, as usual, he said he didn't have my records and I had to go over 7 years of problems..so he scheduled me for a cardio echo scan...3 weeks later. When the test came back he called me, for the 2nd consultation, PHONE CALLS ONLY, and said I was in congestive heart failure and that my ER was a 30! And said I had 1 foot in the grave and 1 on a banana peel! Normal EJECTION FRACTION is 50-75%..that's the amount of blood your left ventricle pumps into your heart to be distributed to the rest of your body!! He said he was going to put me on drugs called Entries to and Xarelto, and a blood thinner..I told him I was on SS INCOME ONLY and couldn't afford expensive drugs! He stated " Oh, I'm sure your insurance company will cover them, don't worry" When I went to get the drugs, one was $500 and the other $414.72!!! That's a third of my monthly income, and I have a MORTGAGE!! I followed orders and started taking the drugs..within a few hours, I was disoriented, dizzy, uncoordinated and passed out three times that day!! By now is 6 o'clock, office is closed, so I told his service he needed to call me back IMMEDIATELY! HE NEVER CALLED BACK!! Next day, he wasn't in the office..so I told the service I needed SOMEONE who was on call to contact me! A Dr Chow, who said he didn't work with Dr Yoshino, but he was on call, I explained the situation and he told me to stop taking the pills immediately! When I call Yoshino the next day, his staff said he "doesn't take phone calls during the day but she would advise him of the situation and call me back..that was 9:30am, she called back 11:00 the NEXT DAY and said Yoshino said the drugs couldn't create those symptoms, that the other Dr didn't know what he was talking about and if I didn't take the pills I could have a heart attack and die...via his staff... The NEXT APPOINTMENT WAS ANOTHER PHONE CONSULT A MONTH LATER!!! He said he was ordering another blood test immediately and his staff would set it up and another heart scan..that was May 29, 2022..I finally called his office staff and said I had not received anything and she said they'd schedule the scan and send me an order for blood work..that arrived yesterday, JULY 30! THAT'S two months, and ME CALLING THEM TO GET THAT DONE!! I wouldn't refer this doctor to a dead man!! Worse I've ever experienced and the bedside manner of a RHINO, so now we call him Dr Rhino!! I WILL BE REPLACING HIM!!! read more

My mother has been in the hospital since yesterday at 2pm! They called the on call Dr and he told the ER he can't do anything for my mother because he doesn't know the patient. What the hell? My mother had open heart surgery two weeks ago! She's only been seen in this office once. Mind you she had Dr.Yoshino listed as the Dr and was seen by a different Dr.. This is crazy to me! Yes she's only been seen once but she's only been out of the hospital two weeks. How much of a relationship can you have with a patient you've only seen once!!!! Now She's back in the ER with chest pain , the ER talking about doing a procedure and can't get any help from the on call because he doesn't know her personally?? What are you on call for if you can't view her case/chart and make an informed decision for her situation . Why are there other Drs on call if they can't help each others patients. So here we are sitting around waiting for 8:30 am for the office to open so the ER Dr can talk to the dr who seen her .... Mind you the front office staff is rude, and unfriendly. This office is a mess! Seriously you are dealing with very ill patients, in grave conditions .... DO BETTER!!!!!! read more

Dr. Yoshino had the audacity to say an abnormal EKG reading was because my chest area is too large to accurately read. I'm a 36 D bra size. He continuously talked down to me and belittled me the entire appointment. Also, my appointment was at 8am, the doctor didn't see me until 9:30am! The only reason I gave them 1 star is because he at least order further tests instead of fat shaming me out the door. By the way, I am not extremely overweight, I do not have high blood pressure or cholesterol and I am physically active. He had no right to treat me that way. read more

Both my parents were patients of Cardiovaacular Medical Aasociates. The staff, doctors and nurses were wonderful when treating and communicating with my parents. Cardiovascular I am a new patient with Dr. Tamboli. He is very caring and direct which I appreciate. The Nurse Practioner, Jocelyn Sampedeo has been very supportive and caring as well. Come for the doctors and run from the office staff! This team of Physicians and their Nurse Practitioner are outstanding and their care and medical judgements are off the charts excellent. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find better cardiologists anywhere in the Souther California area. BUT, and it's a big but, there is a definite problem...specifically with the front office staff. They are seemingly unable to muster up any personality, or more importantly, customer service skills. Perhaps they're never been trained properly or perhaps their leadership is nonexistent or severely lacking...who knows. The front office staff are consistently curt, surly, never on time, never friendly beyond that which is procedurally and absolutely required. If anyone questions them, or God forbid, complains, they immediately get an attitude and will, without a thought or moment of contemplation, attempt to blame the customer. I had an issue with a heart monitor today. The young medical assistant was unable to think outside the box and just kept repeated the same thing. Realizing I was getting nowhere, I asked to speak with the RN. Unfortunately, I instead met the office manager, and boy did I quickly deduce why her staff are problems. What a snide, surly, entitle, and downright snotty individual. Not a customer service bone in her body. It was like the medical version of the DMV! I immediately remembered the old saying that "the fish rots from the head down"...but in this office it's not just a saying, it's their business plan. There is a clear and fairly serious lack of leadership with regard to the office staff. These wonderful physicians deserve a much better front office staff that knows and practices quality customer service skills and treats customers with the highest service and kindness. This place has got to be loosing money and would probably be forced to address this issue if everyone had a PPO and could afford to go elsewhere where their business is respected and appreciated. Unfortunately, I'm fairly sure that this will never be read by anyone associated with this business. That's because those that are the worst leaders never think they're the problem. I would hope that those reading this would not confuse my contempt and dissatisfaction with the office staff to bypass the excellent service and skill of the physicians. Just be prepared to wait quite a while and just survive the front office staff who can't think outside the box or smile like their faces would crack. read more

If you are limited in time and like punctuality do not schedule any appointments here. The wait here is ridiculous. I had an appointment scheduled at 4pm and wasn't seen until 530 pm. On another occasion they cancelled my appointment 30 minutes prior the time. I lost my day of work not only that if it would have been me cancelling they would have charged me for late cancellation. Dr Tamboli is great but the office staff is horrible and rude. We were trying to get surgery clearance from the doctor and the staff didn't call back and I had to call multiple times and each time the person on the phone was rude. The facility doing the surgery also has tried to reach the doctor and is getting the same dead end. I would recommend the doctor but dealing with the front office people is a nightmare. read more
