She is in a wheelchair, so mobility, and assistance is key for her daily routines. Within a short time, the staff at Brandywine have become her family. Every department makes resident life their priority. When covid started in the spring, the staff quickly introduced new protocols, and have done a remarkable job keeping everyone safe, and healthy. We receive weekly status updates on staff and residents, and more if necessary. Although the pandemic has created anxiety and concern, our family is grateful everyday she lives there. We cannot imagine her living anywhere else. Now, our mother plays bingo, poker, attends happy hour, and is involved in most activities. All done with small groups, scheduled, distanced, with masks. However, the care is subpar in some aspects. Poor "J" hasn't had a phone in days and my friend is getting the run around in regards to it. . . Not acceptable!!! After nearly eight months here, it is the opinion of our family that the quality of care that he has received at Brightview is inadequate, the cleanliness of the facility is unsatisfactory, and recent quarantines forbidding us from seeing him for over three weeks for scabies and other unknown pathogens running rampant in the facility have been completely unacceptable. We moved him out in October 2015. I would definitely not recommend this facility for your loved one.

My issues are more with the management's philosophy on hospice care and the lack of an individual treatment plan for my loved one. The goal of hospice shouldn't be to accelerate or facilitate death. Each case and treatment need to be accessed on an individual basis.
