It is with absolute pleasure that my wife and I have the opportunity to review Land Design Group,…read moreLLC and its owner Christopher Feldkamp. We have been through three major renovations in our "forever home" including Kitchen remodel, Basement remodel and now the Outdoor Patio/Living space designed and implemented by Chris. The entire process from design to implementation was nothing but a joy. As business owners in a service industry (medical), we understand the importance of providing quality service, communicating effectively all while completing an endeavor in the most cost effective, time conserving manner. On all accounts, every member of the team at Land Design Group succeeded with a resounding A+++++ rating. As with most home owners going through the process of a renovation, we performed our due diligence and met with four different companies/contractors over a period of two months. We entertained and enjoyed hearing the varying sales concepts and design ideas all while trying to adhere to a budget with which we were comfortable. Chris Feldkamp, was our third contact and, in all reality, was our last. His approach to the job at hand was both methodical and efficient, yet hands on and personal. His initial computer rendition of the project was stunning and he was most open to hearing our thoughts on what we wanted changed. While the initial design did change slightly based on our wishes, Chris easily and quickly made the changes on the computer rendition to our satisfaction. The final product appears just as the computer rendition outlined, albeit in wonderful 3D reality. The scale of our project included an addition of a new flagstone patio (2-tiered) over a new concrete base (2 tiered) extending 2/3 the length of our home in the backyard. A semicircular 2-foot seating wall was added to the lower elevation that now serves as our firepit area (purchased separately). A 14 foot by 14-foot cedar pergola was built on the upper elevation under which we put our dining table and six chairs. The pergola was wired with electricity as well as an outdoor wet rated fan to provide air movement. This entire 2-tiered patio was then surrounded by beautiful landscaping including adding berms with topsoil to create elevations and then covered by mulch in a dark brown. Grass sod was then applied to all the remaining dirt areas to complete the transformation. This was then augmented by the addition of 40 plants/shrubs and 3 new trees to give definition. Finally, the patio as well as the landscaping, were completed by the addition of low voltage lighting (approximately 45 LED lights) on the stairs, elevations of the flagstone patio, seating wall and landscaping. The lights were put on a timer to come on at dusk and turn off at the time of our choice. Behind the scenes of all the work done were the hardworking employees of the company. Each and every one of employees involved in our renovation not only acted and performed in the most professional manner but are deserving of much thanks. We cannot finish this review without mentioning the wonderful personality of the owner, Chris Feldkamp. His educational background (BS degree in Landscape Design from Kansas State University) paired with his incredible work ethic demand the respect all including the most demanding critic. We look very forward to having Chris, his wife and his employees over for a night of enjoyment in our new outdoor oasis.

We've also used them for aeration and over seeding and been very happy with both of those. The only time they've missed the mark is with mole removal. We paid them for it in consecutive years and they were never able to solve the issue. We are going with someone else for the mole issue, but highly recommend them for the other services.

So we got the typical sod rolled out before we closed on the house. Over time, the rocks and weeds over took our lawn, and we were left with a weed infested ugly lawn adorning our gorgeous modern farmhouse. We talked to several landscapers, many of them recommended, tearing out all of the green space and replacing it after replacing all the dirt. When Ryan's came out to talk to us, discussed their program where our lawn is pretreated for each season, and the lawn is treated for specific weeds or noxious grasses. At the end of the year, our grass is starting to grow back in, we do not have any weeds, including dandelions. We are confident that we saved our grass and avoided expensive re-working of the lawn. I wanted to leave a compliment specifically for the most recent treatment in December 2023. The technicians applied the granules and those are meant to treat the lawn and allow it to sleep for winter. This treatment prevents the early emerging bugs and yuck from spreading in the spring. I watched on my ring camera that they applied the granules all around our lot, but here's the special thing: they took the time to use a leaf blower and remove all the granules from our sidewalk and driveway. That is such amazing service! Not only does this prevent damage to our concrete, but it allows us to have clear sidewalks if we need to treat for snow and ice. That little detail is not something I would've thought of but it's something that I noticed and I want to think them for that extra effort! When they were done with the last treatment of this year, they made sure to let us know, and assured us that they would be back in the spring as we begin 2024 with a healthy lawn.
