Used them for years. Great prices and always very professional. I've had them clean up trees and take them out. Never any dents in the yard.

They did some work for our neighbors, so you might ask, why am I the one reviewing them? While doing this work, they trespassed on our property and dismantled our lawn ornaments, and drove over our lawn, right up next to our house, driving entirely on our property to do this work, and let themselves into our backyard (we have pets), without even knocking on or door or giving us a phone call to let us know, or ask if that is okay. They did NOT replace the things they moved and dismantled after they left. Not only that, but they drove right over our recently-fixed sewer line with their several-ton truck. A plumber recently told us that our sewer line had buckled from pressure, and now I wonder if this truck has been here before and done the same thing and that's what caused it. I tried to walk out and talk to a worker, and she just stared at me and kept walking, completely ignoring me. After reading other reviews and seeing them do the same thing to other people and cuss them out over it, I'm just going to call the police next time they trespass without asking. Contracted on 6/10/25 for tree trimming, Elite said would be completed within 2 weeks. Called on day 10 and company had no idea of my contract, even though we had discussed it. Krista asked if zi could send my copy of the contract, which I did. After receiving it, Jeff found his copy of the contract. Krista eventually got back with me, stating it would be able to do it. I expressed my disappointment as I had already waited 2 weeks. Left a VM again this Monday as today is the end of the 2nd 2 weeks, no word from her. Guess that company doesn't need business nor care about contract work. I would not recommend it! read more

If your guys can't drive a truck then I wouldn't trust them to cut down trees. One of your employees decided to drives through my circle drive to turn around and drove through the edge of my lawn putting a nice muddy rut. I would highly advise to get a new employee that can drive and teach them to not use people's driveways to turn around. read more

I have been trying to get my regular tree service over to do some work at my house for two months and I finally called elite tree service and Jeff came out within two hours of my calling and gave me an estimate. Then told me they would get the work done within the next two days and imagine my surprise when I got a call that same afternoon at 3 PM and his team were over within 30 minutes doing the work that I had requested to get done, I was so happy and appreciative and amazed at the same day service. It was a small job but they did a great job and helped me get something done that I've been trying to do for two months with no success at my old tree company. Elite Tree, I thought they were professionals. Their warranty says that they remove/ grind everything 5 - 7" below ground level. They left at ground level or above, 3 on my front tree and 5 on my other tree. The crew coveted everything up with wood chips and the first time I mowed I hit one and it bent my mower blade. I called the next day and on a Sunday someone came out and removed 1 of 3 in the front yard and 2 of 5 in the backyard. I had everything marked with flags so they knew how many needed to be ground down. They also made a mess in a couple of areas, but didn't say a word about the damage. I'M STILL WAITING FOR ELITE TREE TO COME BACK OUT TO GRIND THE REST. I have several pages of notes that I have left (VM, email, on the website through customer service. They just ignore my messages, Nobody has even called me back or email or text or VM. I thought Elite was supposed to be a good company but not by my standards. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN NOR WOULD I REFER THEM TO MY WORST ENEMY read more

If I could give a negative number I would. This company was trimming neighbors tree, blocked my driveway with their cherry picker(?), cut limbs that fell into my driveway and bounced into my car. When I went to speak with them, gentleman in tree started cussing at me. The other workers in the back yard came out and argued there was a storm that could have dropped limbs so what was big deal. I hope others read this and decide they wouldn't want customer service and treatment to their neighbors like this. Nobody likes having to have a long time tree taken out or having one removed when a Midwest butt kicking storm rolls through. I've had both, and I'm glad I called on Elite Tree Service. The tree that the storm beat up was a pretty straight forward job. I don't mean it was easy, but compared to the long established tree, it was a breeze. The established tree was what I call a junk tree. The previous owners let it grow back after it had died off once. It had like six trunks either leaning at our house, or our neighbors. I'd worry with every storm. I got some quotes and found theirs to be competitive and our neighbors recommended them. The crew came out when scheduled and got to work on the junk tree. They were surgeons. I was amazed at the care they took ensuring no limbs came crashing down on anything. It was far from being an easy job. They earned their wage and then some on that tree. They did an equally good job on the storm damaged tree, but that wasn't as interesting to watch as the other tree. They were also able to get to me fast since I had two large limbs get knocked out by the storm. Our neighbors have used them more than once and would give them five stars too if they were Yelpers, so my rating will count for them as well. I know I'll be using them again, but hopefully just for thinning out the trees I have left. The squirrels will revolt against me if I have to have any more removed! read more

I asked to be there when they were doing the work. They arrived with no notice on the one day that I was not home. They cut some of the limbs that I wanted to keep and missed some of the ones that I wanted cut. The Bull E. Vard mansion is in a rather mature area in Overland Park. That's a quick way of saying I have some big trees on my lot. They were beginning to look unkempt and in some cases limbs were about to reach my roof. A large portion of my backyard hadn't seen the sun in the 5 years I've lived in the house. Stella, my wife, called around for several estimates and the 3 or 4 tree companies came by and gave estimates. I wasn't around when any of the other companies came around but I was when Jeff from Elite came by. Jeff is the owner and I happened to be outside playing ball with my daughters when he came by. He couldn't have been nicer to my girls while he was checking out my trees. He even treated me well when I asked my stupid questions about my trees. Elite's estimate was the same or a little cheaper than the other companies that came by. But, we had found a coupon from Val-pak or something for $50 off making Elite the winner of the Vard bid. It took a couple of weeks for them to get over to the mansion. When they did get here they came in full force, nearly blocking the entire road. We had a truck parked in between ours and the neighbors mansions and 3 of them parked on the street. As I wrote, we have a lot of trees. The first day was spent entirely on 4 of the trees in the backyard, including the 50 year old ash tree. They must have taken out enough wood to keep Paris Hilton happy for the next 5 years. When I got home from the daily grind I saw sunshine in my backyard for the first time since I moved in. The second day was spent cutting the 50 year old ash tree in the front yard. Once again, the job they did was just astounding, it hardly looked like the same tree. I've yet to find a branch or limb that they cut off in my lawn. They were able to clean up everything (aside from wood chips). An added bonus for you ladies, the guys working the trees were topless most of the day. I didn't think I'd ever have a topless dude smoke a heater in my backyard, but for one day I had three or four of them. As they were leaving on the second day, one of the guys, probably a foreman, came to the door to tell me they were done. He couldn't have been a nicer guy, we joked about how full the tree was in the backyard (thankfully no sap) . I told him that I was going to let Jeff know what a great job they did. It's not often you spend $800 on something and feel like you took that person to the cleaners. But, I definitely feel that way about Elite. I almost feel bad that we are only paying $800. read more

After we had two of our trees dropped, we needed the stumps ground. We went with elite because they were the most reasonably priced. After they ground the stumps down we cleaned up all the wood chips only to find out there was still more than half of our big stump left. We called them multiple times trying to get them out to finish what they started and they have been nothing but rude. Interrupting you while you try to talk to them and very short. We FINALLY got them back to finish what they started. It was two weeks since they started the stump grinding. Some businesses may be a little pricier than elite, but the other businesses will be worth it because elite is a terrible business. If you like short spoken, interrupting, and rude people, elite is for you. Never, NEVER, will we ever use elite AGAIN. read more

We had a storm last summer take down half of one of our trees. The thing is at the very back of our yard and the fallen half came about a foot from our house, taking out our power and cable. I placed a couple calls to the power company because I figured they would need to take care of that before anyone else should work back there. After waiting 4 hours with no power company, we said screw it and called Elite to see if they would come out. Less than an hour after we called them, Elite was at our house talking to my wife and giving her a quote. I told her to have them take care of it, and I'd be home shortly to deal with them. In the time it took me to leave Panera and drive 12 blocks, the guys from Elite had already taken care of the downed tree and were just cleaning up. There were no less than three of Elite's vehicles around our house. I was ready to pay them the hour quote, figuring that was a minimum, but they only charged us half. Elite provided us with the best service I have ever had in my time as a home owner. Seriously, there were so many vehicles I couldn't get into my driveway and dudes smoking all of my lawn, but I was so amazed at the job I couldn't have cared less. read more

WOW - Thank You ! Project involved trimming eleven trees- that were 40+ years old and very tall, They completed it all within the timeline quoted - one day !! Extremely conscientious of shaping the trees beautifully and cleaned up every limb (plus some large ones that had fallen and we'd not been able to cut up due to recent wet rainy weather). I used to be a fan of this business. Once upon a time they were attentive and did good work, although they were a bit pricey. Now? No. Things started to go downhill this winter after a major snowfall broke a very large branch off of one of our trees and the branch fell over the power, telephone and cable lines coming into our house. Fortunately, he wires didn't come down but the really huge branch was being suspended off the ground by the wires. Seems like an emergency, right? Well, not to Elite. It was days before they came out. But I understood that they were busy because ours was not the only house affected by the blizzard. Still, after days of waiting, they called me to tel me that I was going to be their FIRST CALL OF THE DAY the next morning. They didn't show up until something like eleven o'clock. So, they either lied to me about getting here first thing in the morning or they don't start work until a lot of people start lunch. But because they do good work, I gave them another chance this summer. I had a tree that needed to come down and, while it wasn't an emergency, it was pretty important as some parts of the tree were completely obstructing a sidewalk. Still, I had to wait days for them to show up. But they did and took out the tree. They said they couldn't grind out the stump right them but they'd need to have the yard marked for buried cables, etc and that they'd have that done and be out next week. They called the people who came out to mark everything and we waited. No one came. I called. They said they'd take care of it. No one came. I called again. Much of the time when you call them no one answers, not even a machine. Sometimes the phone just rings and rings and no one answers. This happened in June of this year. It is now nearly November and they won't return my calls, they refuse to come out and they say that they're so busy that they haven't even gotten their stump grinders out. The woman who answers the phone says she sympathizes with me and that Jeff, the owner, wants my cell number and he will call me right back and then he doesn't call at all. I know, I know. You're asking why don't I just find a new business to come out and take care of the stump? It's because WE PAID THEM IN ADVANCE FOR THE REMOVAL! After they took down the tree, Elite called my wife to deal with the payment arrangements and, when it was made clear we'd want the stump removed, went ahead and charged us for that too since they were going to go ahead and remove the stump "next week." I should probably just give up and find someone else, but it sticks in my craw that we paid in advance for a service that will neither be provided or refunded. Call me old fashioned. So, in summary, Elite can do good, albeit expensive, work if motivated. But they will delay and delay, refuse to return calls and ignore you entirely, even if you've paid in advance, and months later you might still be waiting for them to do what they promised to do. As for me, I need a new tree service. read more

Of the four companies I had over, I had the most confidence in him. I knew my tree was a hazard, and needed to come out right away, and he was able to accommodate me. He even went to the property owner of the lot behind my house to ask permission to get into my yard from their lot (my backyard does not have easy access. The crew arrived on time, and did a great job. They were also able to answer additional quest that I had, and seemed happy to help. A previous tree guy did some work for us and left the yard a mess. I hardly knew these guys were there except for a couple of piles of saw dust. The crew Jeff sent out did what I thought was nearly impossible.They roped off BIG limbs and cut them off as they were hanging over my home. Not once did they touch the roof. I was amazed. They swung HUGE chunks of tree right past my three bay windows without touching the roof, gutters, siding or plate glass. No limb ever got speared into the ground. They raked up and blew away the debris. AMAZING. 5 stars for the job. I just wish the crew would have left me some firewood as I asked and that the crew were not smoking on my property. read more

Jeff was very personable and extremely professional. He left me a very reasonable bid on my door while I was at work. I called asking if he could include grinding the stump of an old tree while removing the other. Poor man came by in the dark to evaluate the stump, ended up underneath my house in the crawl space to locate my gas line in order to grind down this extra stump. He told me that was a first for him in all of his career, but he did it willingly and of course with a smile. By the time the tree and both stumps were removed I felt like we were good friends. After a storm knocked half a tree down, I saw an Elite truck a block over. I spoke to one of the men and asked them to go take a look and leave a quote, and called it into the office to make sure they'd send someone out as soon as they could. My dad had recommended Elite, as well as a few others I talked to. About a week later, after not receiving a quote, I called and spoke with the office. They said they'd call back and let me know if someone had made it by yet. I did not get a call back or a quote, so I had to call another company. I'd heard such good things about them, too. After a storm like we had, I expected some delay, but 6-7 business days is a little long to wait when you have a fallen tree killing your grass. read more

Got 2 other estimates from some pretty reputable tree trimming services in the area and found Elite Trees ad in the local ValuMail flyer and thought, why not support a local small business? Not only was their customer service outstanding, they were out to give us a quote a day after I called and then came out the following day to take care of our trees! The guys that came out to trim our trees were very nice and explained how they were going to cut them before they started and then asked if we were satisfied with the way the trees looked before they left. Granted, we didn't have to be home for them to trim the trees and there were only two trees, but I was very surprised at their promptness and customer service. And to top it off, their bid was $200 less than one of the other major companies!
