My daughter had a fever (day 5) and was not at her normal baseline. She was tested for COVID and flu. Both resulted as negative. We were told it was a virus and that was it. No directions on follow up if things get worse from the appointment or what over the counter meds to take. The mid-level provider just told us we were free to go. I was very disappointed. One week later, my daughter was still ill and I had her follow up with her pediatrician. Her pediatrician did a respiratory culture and ordered a chest x-ray. We found out my daughter tested positive for mycoplasma pneumonia and the chest x-ray confirmed. She was finally prescribed antibiotics since it was a bacterial infection.

The place is very clean and bathroom is also kept clean. I wish they had is bottled water/refreshments for the ones waiting. There's no WiFi so I couldn't do work on my laptop. The only thing I don't like is the first come first serve situation. I've had to wait anywhere from 0- 60minutes. There are no appointments. The wall is super thin so everyone sitting in the lobby can hear all your personal body issues and conversations. The doctor is a young friendly lad, he's be dry blind but his other instincts and senses are all exceptional. He does great adjustments, he's friendly and thorough (good when it's you he's working on but if you're waiting it sucks). He is awesome with his hands and can feel where your body needs adjusting. I had a one sided back issue and he knew how to crack so many random places and he doesn't stop until you're feeling better. He couldn't really figure out my source of pain but he offered to send me to another provider, at least he's humbled by his limitations. Overall if you're looking for a nice chiropractor and don't mind the waiting at times, this is the place.

At that visit my only misgiving was that she prescribed me meds without looking over my chart to see that I was already taking those meds. I put that aside because the rest of the visit was great. I was sent for my ankle issues, but when she saw my toe that I couldn't get anyone to help me with since Nov. and immediately helped. She listened, called my primary for xrays and information, she sent me to get blood work, xrays, mri & made referrals to doctors that would help before scheduling my next appointment. Found out I have an infection in the bone of toe that's EATING the bone! Second appointment, in April, she's upset the toe isn't better and my surgery was cancelled (because of covid 19) she stated that I should be on better antibiotics & she resent me back to the previous referrals. Allowed blood work done at my regular clinic and not hers. It was a very quick visit, with her nurse being with me more than her. Ankle was again not looked at, but x-rayed when I asked the nurse to request something be done. I thought she'd come back in and look at it but she didn't. Third visit, July, I was sent to the Nurse Practitioner who did nothing, but read my chart off to me and ask a few questions before trying to leave the room. I mean, she was half out the door when my shock wore off and I asked if she was even going to look at me. She said, for what? I'm not kidding! I told her I could barely move my ankle and was swollen from knee to my toes. She sat down and looked from across the room at me, never attempting to come close or touch the swollen parts. She asked what I wanted her to do and said she'd order an MRI of ankle, but instead she pawned it off on the doctor that had ordered my toe MRI. "To save me time." (that's what I was told when I called to ask why it had been pawned off.) It wasn't approved by insurance because that doctor wasn't treating me for my ankle and hadn't ordered to x-rays that had to precede the MRI request, Dr. Cooper had. Before fourth visit, receptionist was very polite and understood my concerns since both doctors Dr. Cooper referred me to are now saying they can't do anything more until Dr. Cooper signs off on it. Receptionist moved Sept. appointment to Aug. Just one week after MRI results so a plan can be made. Dr. Cooper told her to work me in. Fourth visit, I again drive an hour, take off 3 more hours of work to be there and guess what? Dr. Cooper isn't there!! They tell me I have to see nurse practitioner, who can't make a decision on surgery or not so I refused. I was livid!! I asked why wasn't my appointment cancelled? (R) Dr. Cooper didn't want anyone to miss their appointments. My chart states I'm not going to see NP again, you should have called and given me the choice. why didn't you? (R) We didn't think about it, we are so sorry for the inconvenience, but if you don't see NP today the next appointment we can give you is in Dec. I demanded my $40.00 co-pay back since I hadn't left the reception room, told them to get Dr. Cooper butt up there or someone that can tell me if the bone eating infection was gone or not so I could get save my foot. They asked me to sit and 5 minutes later a nice Nurse asked to speak to me in NP room. She took down note and said she would give them to Dr. Cooper to call and talk to me next week. She had called the other doctors to find out why they weren't continuing treatment and because a receptionist at the infection control said "The infection must be gone or doctor would still be treating her." the nurse decided it must be gone. Neither one took into account that the infection doctor & her nurse both told me they didn't know. The MRI was inconclusive since it wasn't compared to the previous one. She couldn't tell if it was infection or arthritis but she couldn't continue the antibiotics because of the reaction I was having to them. She advised me to see the surgeon and Dr. Cooper, but nope this sweet nurse and receptionist decided I was all cured, nothing to worry about. No surgery needed, just call if anything happens and they will work me in. She then refunded the co-pay & scheduled an appointment for Aug. 31.

Moore for my first appointment at 14 weeks (can't remember 14-16 weeks exactly). I had to come in earlier at 9 weeks for complications. I ended up having a miscarriage, it was my first. I was in shock, I had no idea what the process was nor did I know what to expect. Not going into too much detail, I basically had to clarify if I lost the baby the next day. No one actually said to me I lost the baby or I had a miscarriage, a doctor didn't even come to talk to my husband or I. I get if it was busy and no doctor had time, since I technically never met my doctor that was assigned to me but I felt like it was not a big deal for them. I had a vaginal ultrasound and was told there was no cause for the bleeding and the uterus looks clear. Maybe I was dumb for thinking that meant my baby was ok, I thought like I was clear of problems. Again, it could be my fault but I was having a lot of emotions at the time. I needed clarification, using the key words of losing a baby or at least having a doctor come talk to my husband and I. I was told to do blood work and they would call with my results. It wasn't until the next day when they called I asked did I lose the baby. The lady on the phone put me on hold and came back to tell me that I actually lost my baby. It was just a horrible experience and wish they would have handled it better. I had this experience back in February 2023. I've struggled with this for such a long time. This week was suppose to be the week I was welcoming a new baby and I can't get it out of my head how I was treated. I decided to finally share because no one should ever be handled like that.

Two times last night my 9-year-old, who just had her tonsils removed 4 days ago, woke up unable to…read morebreathe. I've never been so afraid in my entire life by the look of terror in her eyes as she gripped me and gasped repeatedly for air. The first time I thought maybe she was just having a panic attack, which she's never had before, but she had the symptoms. I stayed calm and instructed her to practice deep breathing, and after 10-15 minutes we got through it and she was able to go to sleep. But then about an hour later she woke up again doing the same thing. I immediately threw clothes on us both and took the 4 minute drive to the ER at Kell West Regional Hospital. We checked in about 2:20 AM and I let them know what was going on. I had her lie down on a bench and, fortunately, she was able to go back to sleep while we waited. Over 2 1/2 hours later, at 5 AM, she still had not been called back to a room, triaged, or checked on at all. I knew once we did eventually get to a room it would be at least an hour or longer before we'd be seen, and at this point she had woken up and seemed a lot better, so I decided to just go home so we could get some good rest and make an appt with her doctor a few hours later. Had we gotten home and she had another episode, I would have just called 911. At least that way paramedics would make sure she was taken care of in a timely manner. I'm not normally one to publicly complain like this, but I feel it is important to let others know so they don't make the same mistake. We've been to Kell West a few times before and were always treated pretty unkindly, if not downright rudely, and we've never felt we got adequate care. I only went back because it was a short drive and I thought surely we would be assisted in a timely manner based on her condition. This was the final straw for me. I'm sending in a complaint to Texas Health & Human Services, and I refuse to ever step foot in there again. Honestly, I don't even know if their neglect is illegal or not, but it very well should be. You take a child to the ER telling them she literally cannot breathe and they don't even send someone to take a couple minutes to check on her?! Absolutely absurd and inhumane. Thank God she is OK! I prayed over and over the whole time. Her doctor prescribed her a steroid to help the swelling go down and she is finally breathing somewhat normally now. Shame on you, Kell West!!!
