I was placed in friendly, respectable work environments and was treated equally and not just as a "temp". I felt as if I was cared for to an extent because Shawn would either call or send me an email asking how everything was going & that I was comfortable at the assignment. We worked with this organization to hire a nurse practitioner, who did not meet our organizations…read morecare standards. As a result we contacted Maxim Staffing Solutions and were advised by verbal agreement that they would assist us in finding a new nurse practitioner and "work with us" by lowering the direct payment percentage fee. Upon receiving our invoice we noticed that the direct payment percentage fee was the original percentage of 12%. After contacting Maxim again, we were advised since we did not get this agreement in writing that we would have to pay the invoice as is. This is a shady business approach and is not proper conduct, our agreement with the manager (who we discussed the matter with both times) should have been honored.

Don't work here. Horrible place even if the pay is good. Not worth it at all. And there holding my check from me and messing up my hours that I have worked.

They all have jobs (though none of them deserve to) & they do not care at all that you don't. Their theory is since you're unemployed you don't have anything better to do, so you can just spend time sitting in their office. I received a phone call back from the owner of the company after having contacted Corporate (in Oklahoma City), but he acts as if you're bothering him as well. His exact words to me were, "I'm sorry that you're unhappy, but I've spoken to them & they said you were rude. Well, I don't know what you want me to do." I was not rude--they just don't want to work & if you've got a job in this economy you should consider yourself VERY LUCKY!!!!!

I understand that the employer is their client, but I find that most of them won't even give you a call back or reply to your emails if their client has moved onto another candidate. This was until I had the pleasure to work with Steven Mas at Parker + Lynch. Steve is one of the good ones, he is the only recruiter I've met who actually cares and genuinely works hard to help place you in a position that you want. He will always give me the details of the company and the position, and make sure I like everything presented before sending my resume out. Steve always replies to my emails/calls within a couple of hours. He even checks in on me every once in a while just to see how things are going. In the end I didn't end up getting placed with a company through Parker + Lynch, but when I told Steve I got a job offer, he was really happy for me. I would definitely recommend Parker + Lynch and ask for Steve Mas.

Recruiters call candidates in for "jobs" which they do not have. They just call people in, in order to meet their weekly interview quotas as well as to build up their pipeline of candidates, which clearly are a waste of your time if you are working and had to take time off to come in. I met with the Director for Long Island and she was obnoxious and trying to sell me on an internal recruiting role despite my making it clear that I was not interested. She also told me that my appearance was too professional and that I should wear business casual attire.I guess that my dress suit did not sit well with someone who came into the office in an inappropriately short dress with huge open toe wedge heels.
