Career Strategies is a waste of time! I recently moved to the IE and reached out to them to see if they have any opportunities. They requested I went to their seminar and I passed everything necessary for me to continue on with the company and I told them I have full open availability and able to travel anywhere in the IE. I was told I would expect an offer the next day after the seminar and I did not... fast forward a few weeks later there is no communication between me and the company and this is super frustrating cause when you promise someone a job and don't deliver especially after I explained the situation I was in you decide to forget your employees. Moral of the story, if you don't have jobs to offer then don't advertise that you do. read more

March 2024, My 1st contact with Diana was smooth, and was told I can be issued an assignment within a few days. A few days turned into a few weeks. During these few weeks I was able to complete onboarding paperwork, and a mandatory training course for sexual harassement. A couple more weeks go by, still no assignment, not even any communication from Career Strategies to bring me up to speed on anything! Fastforeward to May, 2024. Completed an additional, paid training seminar for Lease Consultation. Now approaching late July, 2024. Not a single job assignment has been offered, nor have I received ANY communication since the beginning of May. The only way I can speak with Diana, the recruiter is..... nevermind, I am required to leave a v/m that somehow doesn't reach her, or simply doesn't receive a callback. 4 months without a single job opportunity? This is the primary objective of an 'employment agency'. In terms of any referral, I couldn't specify anything Career Strategies might do for you as a jobseeker, but they're making money somehow in order to keep at minimum their own doors open! read more

A former employee referred me to Career Strategies, citing it as a great place to get my foot in the right door into Multi-Family Housing if I wanted to start me career as Leasing Agent. I interviewed with Diana Chipres, the regional recruiter for Career Strategies, and was officially onboarded in June 2022. Her experience and expertise guided me through the process of acquiring the experience I needed. I advise anybody who is entering this field not to close their doors to an assignment due to distance. I accepted all the assignments that were given to me and, through Career Strategies, I was able to learn Market Rate properties and affordable housing to include TCAC and Section 8 as well as Senior Housing. This place started off decent and I worked directly with Diana from day one. Things spiraled very soon after. While this place is meant for entry level workers I decided to give this place a try to gain some experience after graduate school. During the interview process I was promised a job with a large company like such as the "Lewis Family". Better yet, I was promised a full time position in Rancho Cucamonga (which was a lie). In my initial meeting I was told I was going to go to a Jarupa Valley location... I was confused because I was told Rancho Cucamonga. Diana told me she'd call me back in "1 hour" (what a joke) to give me the address. She didn't and work was starting the next morning on a Saturday. I called my colleague and received the address from her and showed up to where I was assigned only to be turned away. I received "show pay" and as Diana described it to me in her passive aggressive email it was a courtesy and to not go to jobs I wasn't assigned to. She claimed that she didn't respond to me because she didn't receive approval from the property... what I am trying to say is that it would have been nice to call me and tell me that I didn't get the job rather than having me wait like a sitting duck. I simply thought she got busy and forgot to call me. It was more or less that she didn't care to call me and tell me that the job she offered me didn't exist. Let alone the fact that my first day was on a Saturday. That should have been the first red flag. Truthfully, I thought Diana didn't like me... weeks went by with no work. I came down to the office with a token of appreciation (a $5 gift card) and was granted a job within the week. Once again not close at all... In Norco! This was a cool experience and I did very well. It was a beautiful office and I felt at home. I thought this was the one. However, during my shift I was told that I was not needed the next day because there was another person from the same agency coming the next day. While Diana tells everybody that they have the opportunity to get hired on full-time the reality is that we are just filling a temporary position for a person who is out. I felt very deceived! Diana knows that I'm a business owner and that I am just trying to utilize my masters degree with some new experience under my belt! While I had a surprise day off after asking for a full-time position which I did not receive, I went to work. On my way to work I received a phone call with the same passive aggressive attitude telling me that I was needed in Norco. This was at 10 o'clock and I needed to be there as soon as possible. When I told her that I was going to work because I didn't want to waste a day of work she gave me a sarcastic response saying "so you have a second job". If she bothered looking over my file she would have known... Most recently, I was texted at 10pm telling me that I had work in Riverside.... seriously at 10? Please consider that I have to get a suit ready as well. I initially took the job because I am so eager to work it wasn't worth my time to drive 60 miles round-trip when gas is $6.19 a gallon. I texted her back that same night tell her I couldn't take the position. It is apparent that I was being used as a chess piece. It isn't fair! Thank God that I have another supplemental income and that I do not need to wait weeks in between being placed! It really isn't fair... I am so relieved that I am gone and I will never refer anybody to this place like I initially thought on the first day after the first interview. This place is sorely disappointing. read more

Atrocious is all aspects, the staff here seem more preoccupied with the large amounts of questionnaires they have to grade than with actually finding people positions. Came here to get a PT job since I moved and it took them 3 weeks to tell me that they were "working on it" and "not to rush". Might as well become a stripper over this place. Also I am fully available and have communicated that with my recruiter as well, sent voicemails as well as detailed texts with the response of "thanks for checking in". My first impression when I had walked in and filled out my application with the agency was wonderful. My recruiter Diana was nice and understanding and actually gave me my pay rate for what I was worth. Fast forward I finally received an assignment that was part time to go out and I did the work which everything turned out well. A few weeks later she found a better assignment that was full time and at first working in the community home was okay until residents were being hostile with us in the office due to a lot of issues with their monthly charges . At first I thought I could handle this because I've worked in customer service for quite a while. So without letting my recruiter know I toughen it out until I had a panic attack at work the other because of how overwhelmed I was and in distraught. Realizing that working there was such a toxic work place again with only the residents, management was wonderful but the residents were not at all. So I allowed my recruiter to know about this and she was so rude, condescending, and showed no EMPATHY towards me and my situation. I wasn't finished talking and she had stated so you're ending the assignment then? Then she proceeds to hang up and I was like what even happened I'm so confused. Which I ended up having to call her manager that's over her but with no resolution. I'm completely done with this unprofessional agency they are a menace. read more

Completely unorganized! I applied as a leasing consultant, having experience with past property management staffing companies, and this was by far my worst experience. This branch is ran by two women Myra and Diana-being the dispatch manager. I would receive countless texts, from Diana, at 10:30-11:00 p.m., asking if I were bilingual (for which, I am not) and this was an on-going ordeal. Like clockwork, same question over and over. In other texts, I was asked about my experience, that was in my resume/went over on the interview. Which leads me to; Forget about any return phone calls, if you have any questions for her, Diana is unavailable- "out on the field" (whatever that means) and won't return any direct calls. Expect to eat, breath and sleep right next to your phone, because if you don't reply within (literally) five minutes (Mother Nature calls), expect the assignment to have been filled by someone else. For if you as much miss (or turn down) one or two of these last minute "assignments", you're automatically black-balled, thrown to the depths of the dispatch list and consider yourself unemployed, again. As if you weren't, already. I was sent out to various properties and told that they are looking to hire a consultant, but the fact of the matter is, that you are just being used as filler, while the property management company has on-running interviews, for someone over-qualified. Getting your foot in the door, in this economy, is slim to none and your over-head contract fee isn't something these companies are willing to pay. You have to put in months of work, with said company, for the price to come down (and it's still expensive), so they would rather find someone that has more experience for little cost, as soon as possible. Diana even double-booked me (and another consultant) on an interview, for a leasing position on a property. Needless to say, that didn't go over well. Imagine my surprise when someone else's name was in place of MY interview. Turns out, the property had me scheduled for an hour and half later. There is such thing as showing up to an interview too early and that's exactly what happened. Like many other Staffing companies (aka "head hunters"), you're promised the moon and told you'll be easy to find work for, but it's part of their script. They lie right to your face. The fact of the matter is, they are making at least double (they are paid by the property management company that uses you) what they give you and they never readily disclose your contract, without needling them about it. Even then, it's a shady song and dance. They make it so these property management companies have to jump through so many financial hoops, that the odds of them hiring you are, for the most part, nonexistent. Staffing companies (like Career Strategies) soul obligation, are to these property management companies, that they are contracted with. Their "employees" are seen as disposable and easily replaced. Both, the property management companies and the staffing company know this, the minute they dispatch you, despite the lies. It's a very small few that find permanent employment through staffing companies and that usually entails a lot of politics (who you know) or possessing 2+ years of permanent (on-site) leasing experience. Property management staffing companies provide you with a minuscule and inexpensive amount of training in Fair Housing, not enough to cover yourself, if something were to arise. You are not provided any transferable skills, so as to go out and apply for leasing positions. It's a deliberate ploy that keeps you dependent on the staffing agency. All-in-all, be very leery of these questionable 5 star reviews. Things are not always what they seem and I can't help, but question the source of these presumable "inside" reviews. Most of them are by other property managers, not the employees, themselves. read more

I decided to give this company a try because I was really interested in becoming a leasing consultant. I first applied back in Oct 2015 and they were really nice and friendly staff they emailed me back and set me up for an interview. Everything looked great they told me that I could start with them as soon as I do their training and they gave me the dates and time. I was working at that time and I requested time off and everything. They call me a day before the training to tell me it was cancelled for unforeseen reasons, and they told me that they would call me once they have a new training schedule. They once again called me a day before the training and as you must understand one can't just take time off of work from one day to another. Time passes by and I recently stopped working on Aug 2016 so I decided to give them another try. I told Mayra my situation and she told me that I had to re apply and go into the Job fair wish I thought it was weird because I had already gone through the whole process and all I needed was the training but Mayra told me that I needed to be reinterviewed. So I went to the job fair and I forgot he ladies name but she told me that she already had all my information and that she didn't need to interview me again that all I needed was the training and that Mayra will set me up for the training. The lady said I am sorry for the confusion Mayra Meant for you to re send your resume. I know English and I know what mayra told me but anyways I let that go because I understand that It can happen to anyone. Mayra as the friendly staff that she is she set me up for the training, but guess what Once again it was cancelled due to unforeseen reasons. I don't know what's going on maybe they just don't like me or don't think I can do the job? Why can they just be honest and tell me that they don't want to hire me or idk but at this point I am really disappointed with this company I am better off finding a job as a leasing consultant on my own. I was very excited to start work for CSI being that I'm looking to get back into apartment management. My recruiter seemed so very nice when I met with her, she told me that it shouldn't be hard to find a position for me given the experience i already had. She explained that since the software that I'm familiar with is a bit outdated id have to start as a leasing consultant instead of management. (Again that's fine with me) That's about when any willing correspondence with her ended. No calls, no voicemails, no text msgs as she requested for me to do or any msgs left with reception were returned. It wasn't until I blocked my number that I was able to reach her Diana. She didn't sound very pleased when hearing it was me and her tone was quite curt when she spoke to me. I asked about positions posted on the website that were in my area since she said she was looking for something close to me to assign me to, and i was told "we pull people from all areas to recruit" I'm guessing that means they pull ads from other sites to advertise as their own....I really have no clue as the explanation wasn't very articulate. All in all I prefer a staffing agency that's not screening my calls and make good on their word that they have positions they will be right for me.
