I paid way too much money for my resume, Linked-In Profile, cover letter and Thank you letter. I received an email saying that Justin had enough information to proceed. A few days later, he presented me with a disappointing resume that seemed to be built using some template, not my information. When I emailed him to ask for revisions, he was rude, snarky, sarcastic and unpleasant. I pointed out the corrections that were needed, and he was totally unreceptive. I asked for a refund, and was told I could only be refunded for the "add ons", not the resume itself. Justin told me there was a $30 fee to have another writer take over. Don't waste your time or money. ADDENDUM: I guess he was notified that I wrote a review, because I then received an email from him saying that he would "be sure to return the favor with online reviews". He is also making threats of legal action against me for posting this review, stating that it is false. read more

Similar to other low reviews, I do not recommend this service. Justin is very rude and not accommodating to the client. I was looking for help rewriting my resume as I search for new employment, however, the only additions were changes to my summary and Justin rearranging my work experience in a way that many others agreed was worse than what I previously had. For the summary, all he did was throw in a bunch of buzzwords that didn't really flow together well. I brought my doubts to Justin to try to work through things as the sites states there are unlimited reviews after payment, but my ideas were completely dismissed as he claimed to know what's best because he's been writing resumes for 18 years. You can tell by his responses that Justin does not like to redo things and claims it is a waste of his time, that you're trying to throw more work on him. When all you wanted was a quality resume, that apparently he is unable to provide. Customer service is terrible and the value just isn't there. I'd recommend any other service other than Careers Plus Resumes. Don't waste your money on this service, the value isn't there. read more

I wish i read the reviews here before, unfortunately i am another victim of this one man show that pretends like a company and does false advertise. I paid $200 for a CV, Linked In Profile and a cover letter, he just copied pasted what i sent to him into a very simple and unappealing format, no single contribution. Linked in profile, he literally send me my CV with basic instructions about how to edit my profile in Linked In. Cover letter is an absolute copy paste that he uses for everyone, irrelevant, making no sense. When i asked revisions, he told me that i am focusing on the cover letter too much because employers don't even read it. JUST BE AWARE!! My lawyer is looking at my correspondences, i will take care of this issue as soon as possible, this is unacceptable. read more

I really don't want to be rude but I regret spending money on documents that I can't use. Recently asked for a cover letter and resume for a federal position. Justin, the owner, has been doing that. 1) He didn't pay attention to ANY details in resume (even didn't look into the information I provided). I should resent resume and job link twice 2) He refused my requests for more customization of my resume, saying that the cover letter will do it. 3) Well, I can provide a photo of the cover letter he wrote, and other than the job number you won't find specific words related to the job position. He didn't even include a person name from the job description to address the cover letter 4) The resume format is awful. No header, no details for the position (FED resume), the main part summary is not tailored to the position AT ALL 4) He never returned my phone call, even after I left a message asking to call me back I spent $250+ for the resume/cover letter I didn't use. Instead I tailored my previous resume/cover letter. On top of everything, he is very rude. His argument 'I will not respond to arguments any further. Please provide what I am asking for' other words: do my job you paid for (write the resume) Don't waste your money! If you want a GOOD resume, go to the fiverr website, choose whoever you prefer (I did it base on the reviews) for 3+ times less of money, you'll get a great cover letter and resume without any stress. read more

My initial review was deleted somehow. I wish I could give 0 stars. I downloaded Yelp and this is my first company I am ever making a review about in hopes someone sees this before they waste their money. This company was made to seem large online, but a man named Justin runs it all. I provided my resume in hopes of making it a little more professional, and what I received back was a resume that was a complete lie. It seemed like a template that is just sent out. It was very evident that my original provided resume was barely glanced at, and the information that I wanted weaved in was left not regarded. After days of emailing Justin back and forth explaining to him what I wanted in "revisions", I realized this was a complete waste of my time, money, and efforts. I emailed "Customer Service" asking for a refund and explaining my situation and Justin emailed back saying he could not give me a refund for my resume (So now, my credit card company is taking care of that). After I submitted my first review, I received 5 calls from him back to back while I was in class and an email telling me to take down my review. The resume created was mostly cut and pasted from the one I had sent. It had typos, font issues, a forgotten portion of my resume, and hilariously, months later I learned that a cuss word was actually in the resume that he blames me for. How can you be a professional and not PROOFREAD your documents? Don't waste your money on something you won't even use. He tried to offer an apology but that was a little too late at the time. While the resume created looked better than my initial one, it actually made things far worse when it came to actually getting an interview. The feedback I received was that my resume looked too busy and it was hard to read and understand what was going on. I was wondering why I was having such a difficult time getting interviews all of a sudden in such a easy job market. It was because the layout of my resume was hard to understand. I tried talking to the guy while he was creating it, but he wasn't very friendly and he was very straight and to the point. He really didn't have much feedback and didn't offer much conversation to go over anything. This was by far some of the worst money I ever spent. I highly DO NOT recommend this service. My advice is to talk to someone who is easy to work with BEFORE you spend the money. I had to redo that resume he gave me and I basically gave away $200 for nothing. I sent my resume over for a free review. The same day I got back four paragraphs telling me how bad my resume was. The nicest thing was in line 2 - "There is honestly a lot of room for improvement." It went downhill from there. I responded the next morning, saying please take me off any contact lists you have and that a bit of kindness in the response would have helped me to consider using his services. Justin's response? "Excuse me for being honest. I am just trying to help make your resume better, but it's your choice. " Yes, that's a direct quote from the email I received.
