This office has no messaging features whatsoever, so it is impossible to communicate electronically with them. Before my annual physical, I sent an email requesting that they confirm that an EKG will be included with my annual physical. NO RESPONSE! At my annual physical, Kaetlyn Tharp said she was TOO BUSY to contact my insurance company to confirm that an EKG was covered. After the annual physical, I received no response from Kaetlyn Tharp regarding the blood tests. I had to call the office a week later, and the receptionist gave me the results over the phone because Kaetlyn Tharp was "too busy". Kaetlyn Tharp submitted the WRONG CPT CODE to the insurance company for the annual physical. The supervisor at the insurance company called Kaetlyn Tharp to confirm this mistake, and Kaetlyn Tharp insisted that the insurance company was wrong! I then received a letter from the insurance company, confirming that Kaetlyn Tharp had submitted the wrong CPT code, and that she would need to correct it before the visit would be covered. This is not how a doctor's office should be run! I hope Dr. Dallas reads this review, and that he strongly considers replacing Kaetlyn Tharp with a more competent nurse.

I'm going to be completely honest and state that, because my background is…read morein social services, there's a certain level of frustration I have for health and wellness organizations that treat people like Novo treated me. This mostly took place during and after the pandemic. I was only in the office once, and afterwards everything was handled via phone and Zoom. Initially, this was no big deal and rather convenient given the world at large, but it soon became a big inconvenience, and even somewhat dangerous because at different times I suffered withdrawal symptoms due to Novo's NXIVM-level contact rules. If I were a second too late grabbing my phone, then I could expect to have my calls, texts, and voicemails ignored all the way up to when my medication ran out. Once they did answer, I could expect a level of care that was accusatory, combative, and paternalistic. I had serious questions about a diagnosis that has followed me and directed my medication path for two decades, but I was deemed combative and paranoid, yet, sitting here in 2025, it turns out my concerns were correct. So, I guess I should really thank Novo for being so bad at providing basic levels of care, kindness, and trust that it pushed me to find a psychiatrist who actually listens to me.

She shouldn't work in this field, much less the main liaison gatekeeper to the rest of the practice. Not once did I have a positive experience with her. Her attitude puts a stain on the entire practice, and that's saying something because the practice as a whole is a shit show. My psychiatrist Joy Liz seemed to be overworked as she hassled me the same personal questions each time and jet referring to my husband as my boyfriend even though she was corrected multiple times. The other issue is I was sent on routine lab work because of some of the medications I am on but they would routinely say they didn't have any paperwork of my lab visits and would send me on them again. I even tried to fax over results one time and they said it had to come from the dr office who did it. Like wtf?! I'm giving you my reply's directly. Overall this place needs to be avoided at all costs because it is not a safe place to seek mental health care.

The investigation involving Pharma-doctor relationships started by an award-winning journalistic entity known as ProPublica, which initiated the investigation in 2010. Such reports disclosing Pharma companies' financial ties with doctors were because of legal settlements with the federal government. Fresques (2019) published an investigative report that exposed a disturbing, but realistic conclusion: Doctors prescribe more of a medication if they receive money from a Pharma company tied to it (Tigas, Jones, Ornstein, & Groeger, 2019). The pattern is consistent for almost all the most widely prescribed brand-name medications in Medicare, including medications that treat diabetes, asthma, mental health, and more. Dr. Asta has had significant financial ties with the medication manufacturer of Suboxone. The medication manufacturer of Suboxone goes by the official name Indivior Inc. Indivior Inc. was indicted by the Department of Justice for fraudulently marketing its opioid-containing product Suboxone. Such marketing also includes prescriptions for buprenorphine-naloxone, which is correlated with increased prescription patterns from the doctors paid for by Indivior Inc., such as Dr. Asta. The conclusion is that Dr. Asta is increasing his prescriptions of opioid-comprised medications as opposed to treating the opioid-addiction disorders in his patients. Thus, if you read the Department of Justice's federal criminal indictment of Indivior Inc., once you see this increased pattern of opioid-containing medications being prescribed by Dr. Asta, the malignant relationship between him and Indivior Inc. becomes incredulously apparent. Furthermore, Dr. Asta's treatment decisions are questionably dangerous. According to publicly released reports on medicare.gov, Asta prescribed a whopping net worth of Suboxone-comprised medications (either Suboxone directly, or in the form of buprenorphine-naloxone) to his Medicare patients in 2020--totaling around $9,682.00 worth of opioid-related prescriptions. His documented prescription patterns of Suboxone and the similar buprenorphine-naloxone, corroborates the corruption revealed in the indictment of Indivior Inc. by the DOJ in 2019. It is a random, but interesting observation, that Dr. Asta has told certain patients (such as me) that he does not prescribe Xanax due to its high probability of abuse compared to other benzodiazepines. However, Medicare released Asta's prescription records for 2020, and interestingly Xanax is in the top 10% of Asta's most frequently prescribed psychotropic medications for that year. In other words, consider Dr. Asta unreliable. My advice: avoidance and seek treatment elsewhere!

When I started the medicine after my trip, the medicine sedated me so much I couldn't function. in my next appointment she said, "oh yeah, how was your work trip?" I said "fine." She asked, "Did your husband go with you?" I said, "No, it was a work trip." That was the extent of the conversation, as we had wrapped the appointment and decided on a new medication, and because of these 10 seconds of small talk, I was charged for therapy. I inquired with the billing office, noting I did not sign up for therapy and have a separate provider for that purpose, and I was told they are "required" to charge for services if anything personal is discussed. This is a common practice known as fraudulent upcoding. I have had better "therapy" from both my derm and my obgyn. Avoid this place.
