For a low cost, we were able to buy tickets for a 2 hour midafternoon cruise on a large beautiful sailing vessel, a 4 sail schooner. It was easy to find them at Gloucester harbour, parking was a breeze, boarding the boat no problem. The crew was kind and courteous and experienced. We got out of port under engine power, but then the sails came up, with help from all parties who wanted to volunteer. Once they were up, we were off, doing a brisk 14 knots and making turns and changes of course as needed. The cruise was wonderful. You could see everything on the coasts and on the ocean, it was a sunny day, and a sailing breeze greeted us the entire voyage. It was sublime. The voyage finally ended (all too soon) and one of the crew took time to get some merchandise for my wife for our kids. So nice! Very recommended!

Eastman's is probably the premier deep sea and charter group on the NH Seacoast. I only say…read moreprobably because there are most likely smaller single boat operations that do it just as well. But for a multi boat operation, Eastman's is top notch. We went out on a cold December day with fairly rough seas, cold temps, and a stiff wind. The captain and crew all busted their butts to make sure bait was kept full, lines were kept untangled, and gaffs were ready at a moments notice. Each spot we went to was given its fair shot before moving. The bite had cooled off from where it had been a few days prior, but we still were able to get on some decent fish. Thats why they call it fishing and not catching. Some reviews are basing their rating off the quality of fishing on their given trip, and not the quality of the service. I'd be careful of taking those reviews too seriously, as even the best fishermen can't always make them bite. If you're looking for a head boat or six pack on the NH Seacoast, you won't go wrong booking with Eastman's. Just maybe dress warmer than I did.

I needed to have my water pump serviced and they squeezed me in and had it done in an afternoon. Great bait tackle and parts shop and they had all the service records for my boat so looking up the correct part for the water pump kit was a breeze. I've been at a few other North shore Marina's over the years and I really love being at Perleys Only downside is it can be tough during peak Greenhead season :-)

I will be honest. I tend to get motion sickness. If you knew me, the last thing you would imagine…read moreme doing is going deep sea fishing. I did on the Subdivider and it was awesome! Captain Johnny and his crew (Ira and Stan) were fun and patient with a boatload of novices (and some of us nauseous) passengers. They set us up, cheered us on and we caught 25 fish that we could take home (not counting the fish that had to be released, if we factored that in it would probably be at least 40 to 45 fish caught). They know what they're doing and taught us a great deal, all the while making sure everyone was having fun and was safe. We got to see a shark, we heard a lot of great stories and each one of us are determined to go again. The boat was clean and comfortable with a working bathroom and even room to take a quick nap if you want. If you are a hardcore fishermen they will give you a great trip as well, since they have decades of experience and know the waters like the back of their hand. They are passionate about what they do and take pride in making sure you have the fishing experience you want. To make a great day even better, when we got back Captain Johnny had arranged for a local chef to cook some of our catch and he even threw in fresh lobsters. The hardest part of the day was figuring out what to do with all the fish we caught. Give them a call, let them know what kind of trip you want and I guarantee they can arrange it.
