I've gone with Eastman for several years and they alway have good service. The captain moved our boat around several times to track the shoals. I definitely recommend taking motion sickness meds and hour before getting on the boat. We went for half day fishing and caught 20+ mackerel between 3 people. read more

Worst day of fishing ever. Honestly I feel like the boat was overbooked. You were basically standing shoulder to shoulder with the person next to you. The crew spent the majority of their time trying to untangle peoples lines. Majority of the people fishing on the boat didn't catch any fish during an 8 hour charter. I would suggest not trying to fill every spot on the boat so folks have a little room to fish and enjoy the experience. I've been on a few charters and this was unfortunately my worst experience. read more

Went out for the second time with Eastman's. It's a nice boat, with indoor tables and clean bathrooms. Beer and burgers are served in the galley. It rained hard and the fish weren't biting much but the captain made a good effort to find some action in spite of all. Crew was very helpful with bait, lures and fixing tangled lines. A little crowded at the rail sometimes but for the price, a great day on the water. read more

That was the worst fishing trip I've ever been on. The ocean was choppy and the waves were 6 to 8 feet high. Rough going in and rough going out. Below deck was littered with people vomiting. Not too mention everything I brought in my cooler was ruined. Shocked that they didn't turn around for the safety of the passengers. My body was banged up and bruised. A group of us got together for what has become a yearly event... The Fireworks Cruise. The weather was absolutely perfect... I don't think it could have been any better. We left on time & cruised out of the harbor. It was cool to watch the drawbridge open from the water vs the usual waiting in your car thing. We headed north out toward Portsmouth... And circled around The Isles of Shoals... I do not write professionally. Therefore it's difficult to convey to you just how breathtaking the combination of the sunset along with the beauty of the Isles was. . I have not seen any sunset similar ... Other than on the front of a postcard. We kept going as the sun did it's daily thing finally diminishing ... And anchored off Hampton Beach. Next it was the beautiful moon light over the water.... Absolutely striking. They turned down some of the lighting and played music while we waited for the fireworks to begin. It's amazing how the strip looks from the water. We saw some fireworks go off which we thought had to get closer to the state beach thinking - what is that? And so on. Then came the real show. It was awesome! I want to give Eastman's more stars. However can not this time around. #1 my group were all on the top deck shared with another who were completely trashed drunk. I know for sure they were not served on the boat anywhere near the amount of alcohol they'd consumed. They'd brought it onboard. Anytime I've gone on this cruise coolers or bags been checked.. what happened this time? Toward the end just before we took off to head back a woman - part of that group fell down completely flat on her back.. scaring the heck out of us. If the deck had been wet she would have slid right down the stairs.. it was truly frightening! #2 The restroom/head situation is really not good. It's ancient & who's cleaning it? And when? yes, it's a fishing boat and no one expects luxury... just clean it up! Also, there is a side window without any privacy shade etc ... Once it's dark and the light is on anyone walking by can peep in.. really not cool. Otherwise, this really is a great affordable way to spend an evening read more

I went on an evening fireworks cruise. Three hours from 7-10pm. It was an awesome night. Captain Tori was excellent. Tho we were unable to go past Scholls island because of the fog we got to see a beautiful sunset, a gorgeous moon rising and over 12 Whale sightings! I got to enjoy the ride with Captain Troy's grandma who was a treasure. I enjoyed listening to her stories and how she spoke with much love. When it was time for the fireworks at Hampton Beach her face lit up so beautifully! I had an absolutely wonderful time! Everything was terrific! read more

Started fishing with Eastman's Docks over a decade ago, going out several times a year. Their service has always been very good. I just returned from 2 days of All Day Fishing with them, for the first time since Covid hit. On both trips the boat was full, but the crews were again very friendly, attentive and helpful- in untangling lines (some involving up to around 6-8 different lines), helping neophytes (with tips, unhooking fish, tying knots for rigging, etc.), and doing a great job of cleaning all of those fish! The captain, as usual, was attentive to when the fish were or were not biting, and changing location as needed (the fish may be down there but not biting). Soon the Tuna Striker Pub will open for the season. They open for breakfast very early in the morning and have a delicious menu for dinner. I would love to go more often, but it is 3 hrs 15 minutes to drive there from my home in Central Vermont. read more

My son and I fish with Eastmans often. The service and crew are top notch. We often fill the cooler with haddock and some days we only catch a few. It is fishing afterall and no matter where you fish some days are better than others. They are great about canceling or warning when seas are rough (being someone that frequently gets sea sick I really appreciate that). They professionally filet your fish for tips and I have never found even a little bone in my filets. The captain and crew are very accommodating. I have fished in all the oceans around North America and Eastmans has certainly been at the top of the charters that I have used. I'm sorry, but an "all day" fishing charter should not stop fishing at 1:35 and arrive at the dock before 3:30 pm.

Fishing wasn't great, 70-80% of fish were short and thrown back. Went on a small boat, seating inside for about 10 people. Very windy and rough seas. This boat should have stayed in port. If you stayed outside you got soaked when traveling. The ride in was extremely rough, it was a miracle no was injured. Nothing to hold on to inside, people being knocked around like bowling pins. Several ended up on the deck inside when no one could catch them. I'll never ride this boat again. read more

I took my son for the half a day fishing. The dock is easy to find. Front desk were very polite. I went on a Monday so plenty of room on the boat to move around. Boat is clean and crew are very friendly and helpful. My only complaints is the trip is too short. If I had to guess, we probably only did 30-45 minutes on fishing and the rest of the time searching around for a school of fishes. Today 6/12/20 6:45 am. This company sucks. Very bad customer service. This fucking guy that work for Eastman's dock start to swear using "fucking" word at me and yellled "you get the fuck out of here and don't come back". We paid for full day fishing and the cashier told us to go to boat #1. We did and we settled down. Suddenly the crew told us to move to other boat. We did and when we got to boat #2. The captain told us to go back to boat #1. We moved back to boat #1. The crew said it fullled. You cannot go. You can get your refund. So we went to the cashier to get my refund. Suddenly this fucking worker started to curse at me and told me not to come back. This is very unprofessional. Don't go to this shit company. read more

We planned a deep sea fishing trip with our kids and they were right there with every question or bit of help we needed. On Sunday 9/4/2022 I thought I would try Eastman's and was blown away by how awful my experience was. We were sent to the wrong boat to begin with and after being spoken to like a piece of crap we made our way to the other boat. We stepped over vomit and sat on the dirtiest boat ever. We left the dock and the Captain hit two boats on the way out. I heard a really loud crack and was a bit concerned that no one came to look at the boat until an hour later. The Captain could of avoided this completely. Two larger boats left just before us and they had no issue. The crew never greeted the guests and when the Captain made an announcement no one could hear him over the loud crappy music. There should of been some communication about safety. As the crew walked past you on the boat they never said excuse me instead they walked right in to you. I have been on plenty of boats and they are all really great. Only a few people caught fish and we are used to being on boats where the Captain tried to make sure we were in a good location. Honestly, I would never ever go back to Eastman's. Decided to take my nephew fishing, he's 10 and was VERY excited. Picked Eastman's on a friends recommendation and because i went with them once before a few years ago. Since I had no memories of it being bad, I thought it would be a good choice. The website states that half-day trips run SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. "8:00am-Noon, 1:30pm-5:30pm 7 days a week May-September $6 rod rental additional" They do have small print SUGGESTING calling for reservations, but don't say it is a requirement and they do not say that the schedule is subject to change or that they might arbitrarily decide to cancel all half day trips if they can sell out all boats for a full day. Which is exactly what they did. After driving over an hour, I arrived over an hour early, to be told that they weren't running any half-day trips. They didn't tell me the half-day trips were sold out...they literally canceled them because they booked all the boats for full day charters. Imagine the disappointment on my nephew's face???? They werent even apologetic. The woman was hostile and blamed me for believing their advertised schedule and not calling in adavnce to make sure it wasn't a lie. I didn't see the suggestion to call until I got into the office today and searched their website. I finally found it in the middle of a paragraph above the schedule. If they are willing to run their busuiness this way, it makes me wonder what else is going on. I'll never go back and will report this back to the friend who recommended Eastman's so he knows not to recommend them to people again. Anyone wondering about my nephew...I didn't give up and found a place in Hampton that took us out for mackeral. It ended up being a good day anyway. read more

Nothing like the occasional deep sea fishing trip. I have been on three different New England area charter boats for a total of about 12 trips out and this one is my favorite for a few reasons. Most importantly, I always catch the most fish on this boat. A couple of times my dad and I have walked away with about 15 pounds of fish fillet (cod, haddock and pollack) between the two of us. They seem to have a few good fishing spots. The boat departs at 8AM for the all day fishing trip and docks at the end of the day at 4:30. It cost between 54.00 and 61.00 dollars depending one the day you choose. I don't remember how much the fishing rod rental was but it was 7 dollars or so. There is good sized galley on the boat and a store that sells snacks and of course beers for a couple bucks each, not bad. We fished for probably 30 minutes and the rest of the time we were sick and nauseous from the 900 cigarettes cooking at the same time. Finally got in touch with some lady who apparently helps online complainers she didn't even apologize, she basically tried to make it like I did something wrong. No offer to make it up to us, no offer of refund, no nothing. Wasted time both on their boat and then on the phone with them. They take you for schoolies and even tell you that in advance. We took an all day trip, hoping to land some haddock, cod, and pollack. Choppy waters in the morning made for a tough trip out, but after a couple of hours we were able to drop our lines and the waters (and my stomach) seemed to calm a bit. The fishing was decent for the first half of the trip, but pretty bad the second half after they moved to a new spot. Very few fish were caught on the boat during the last hour and a half. All in all, my group of four people ended up with probably a dozen keepers, and we had to throw back probably another 20 that were too small. Most of the fish caught was Pollack, but also a couple haddock and cod. Other than chips, candy, and drinks, the food sold on board was pretty bad, and they actually ran out of hot dogs before noon. Bring your own lunch. The mates were helpful enough when lines got snagged or with any other problems, though sometimes they were hard to find when you needed them. They definitely do work hard and you can easily see why they might be cold at times. Overall, this was a good trip, though I was expecting to take home quite a bit more. read more
