AVOID THIS URGENT CARE AT ALL COSTS - Completely Unprofessional and Negligent!! I've never written a negative review before, but my experience with this urgent care was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to share it. I visited on February 5th for vertigo and was met with a series of issues that reflect gross mismanagement and disregard for patient care. 1. Two-Hour Wait in a Room With No Explanation After being taken into a room, I sat for two full hours without any communication from staff. No updates, no nurse, no doctor--just left sitting there. That alone would have warranted concern, but unfortunately, it only got worse. 2. Wrong Blood Test Results As someone on an immunosuppressant, my white blood cell and vitamin D levels are always low--this is well-documented. The results they gave me were completely normal, which immediately raised red flags. I followed up with my neurologist the next day and had my labs redone. Sure enough, the new results matched my usual levels--not the ones provided by this urgent care. This suggests either a mix-up or a serious error in reporting results. 3. Prescription Nightmare I was prescribed Zofran for vertigo I have been having for days and was told it would be ready within an hour. The pharmacy never received the order. I had to call multiple times over FOUR DAYS (Wednesday through Saturday), and each time I was told it would be sent over. I finally got my medication five minutes before the pharmacy closed on Saturday. Absolutely unacceptable for something that should have been done the same day and was left dealing with my symptoms without medication. 4. Unauthorized and Mysterious Billing Then, on May 22nd (over 3 months later) I was suddenly charged $164 from my bank account without any prior notice or explanation. When I called, I was rudely told, "Well, that would be your deductible..." My deductible for urgent care is $50, not $164. And even if there was an issue, why wasn't I billed at the time of service instead of nearly four months later? I called to dispute the charge and was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. At this point, I've involved my lawyer because this kind of billing practice is highly questionable, if not illegal. This urgent care failed on every single level. Communication, accuracy of medical testing, timely delivery of care, and responsible billing. I should have written this review after the prescription fiasco, but the billing issue was the final straw. If you value your health, your time, and your money, go elsewhere. This clinic has demonstrated a complete inability (or unwillingness) to provide even basic patient care. They do not do their jobs, and I do not trust them, and definitely will never step foot in this place again.

It took over three hours to get an ultrasound... in what world? No other progression, just waiting for an ultrasound, sitting in the hallway where HIPAA apparently doesn't exist. When they finally decided to admit me for surgery is when I was giving anything for the severe panic attacks I was having for the full duration. THAT'S 6 HOURS LATER. THESE ARE THINGS THAT ARE ON MY CHART AND PRESCRIBE TO ME. The lack of communication and misinformation spread here is obscene. If it's a staffing issue, fix it. Maybe lack of training in this type of environment? All I know is that I'm extremely disappointed in the experience and will choose Wilkes Barre General for future visits.

I saw her exactly once, but dealt with her twice. The first time was during an unusually stressful time in my life. I asked her for meds to help me cope with stress and the myriad of physical symptoms I was experiencing as a result of it. She told me to "take a vacation" despite the fact that I had just confided in her that I was experiencing an extreme financial hardship, and said that I was "seeking pills." I'm a licensed mental health professional who has never been prescribed any kind of pills in my life other than occasional antibiotics and a scrip for acid reflux medicine that I never filled. It was quite discouraging that the one and only time that I had ever sought assistance with a mental health issue, I was made to feel like a drug addict. Needless to say, I rode that storm out over the next two years and didn't dare ask for help again. The second time I dealt with her was about a year later over the phone. I live alone and had a 104 fever and was dizzy. I called the office and begged, through a strained voice, if she could please see me or call an antibiotic in to my pharmacy. She insisted I had the flu and refused to schedule an appointment. I insisted she was wrong. I'm in my mid 30's. I know what the flu feels like, and this was not it. She hesitantly agreed to call in an antibiotic for me and asked what pharmacy I used. I called the pharmacy later that day. Nothing. I had a friend call later still after my voice had completely failed me. Nothing. I called the next day. No record of her sending anything. I got into my car and drove my very dizzy and borderline narcoleptic self to an urgent care clinic where I was diagnosed with an ear infection, a sinus infection, bronchitis, and a few other things. I left with an antibiotic. Go figure. I also got some cough syrup, pain relievers, ear drops and a nasal spray. They asked me why I hadn't made an appointment with my PCP. After telling them what had happened, they urged me to switch doctors. So I urge anyone reading this to do the same. If you expect to be taken seriously and treated like a semi-intelligent human being with any insight concerning your own body and needs, don't go to Dr. Desai.
