Tried the food from the food truck during the Northern Liberties festival. I love Caribbean food and was excited to give this place a try! Prices were a bit high, but they do give you a ton of food. I ordered the jerk chicken with candied yams and cabbage. My bf ordered the jerk chicken with rice and Mac n cheese. I'm still not sure if we actually got jerk chicken or maybe stewed chicken. I've never seen or tasted jerk chicken like this before and it also looks different with the other pictures posted on yelp. It was very wet and fatty. The cabbage was delicious and the yams were a bit too sweet but addicting. They were also all mushed up. The Mac n cheese was good but the rice was a bit hard. I'm happy I got to try it, but I am not sure if I would reorder from here again if I see the truck. read more

Food is prepared at another location and served from a food truck. I think the dishes are cooked at the Germantown location. Food is nasty and has no taste. Doesn't taste like authentic Jamaican food. Barely had bean in my rice was over cooked and mushy. I would not recommend this to no one. read more

I really want to like this place, but 3 stars is being generous as it is. These aren't the warmest people ever, but they were pretty quick. I got the "lunch special", which is exactly 2 pieces of your choice of chicken on top of rice. The sauce was sweet and spicy, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I'd argue the rice was a little under-cooked. Overall, it was alright, but hardly worth $6 when, for $2 more, you can get another side and arguably more food with the normal platter? There's some heavy competition in the neighborhood, but if you're pressed for time and craving Caribbean food, I guess this will do the trick. read more

There are not many things that can make me stop mid-sentence and literally run across a busy street...except for a food truck sign with the words "$14 oxtail platters". No joke, despite being very different than Gus's Octopus Falafel Truck, this truck is is a contender for another option if I am not feeling up for dealing with crazy. My co-workers and I were looking for something different. We always talked about the Caribbean food truck (located on the same side walk as Devon & Blakely on 18th and Market) but never went. On a frigid day (think mid 20's), and the three of us decided to split the meals. we went with large orders ($12) of the jerk chicken, stewed chicken, and fried chicken with mac and cheese, rice and beans, and cabbage. Pretty excited to try this food, we hurried back to the office and split the meats and sides. To conclude, stewed chicken (better than) jerk chicken (better than) fried chicken, the last which I would avoid. Service was quick, food was good and plentiful. Been here twice now and the food is marginal for what I have tried so far. Jerk chicken was a 6 out of 10 and the curry a paltry 4 out of 10 for my personal preference, but feel free to try it for yourself. However, the young lady that works the truck is very pleasant, and this is a break from what seems to be the chicken and lamb takeover of center city food trucks. read more

I think this is the worst jerk chicken that I had and in additional the person making our food was not even paying attention to us when we placed the order and was busy on the phone. I never had a jerk chicken that taste like rotisserie chicken and if I did I think that would taste better than the jerk chicken here. We also ordered white rice and Mac n cheese but we got the rice with beans instead and that tasted bad as well. Paid $10 for some jerk chicken and wrong order and did not enjoy it one bit. Ate it half way and couldn't eat it anymore because of how it taste. Just going to take the lost. If you want some good jerk chicken, I would recommend Jamaican's D food truck and they taste super good and full of favors. With most food carts around Suburban Station serving ye ol halal combo or breakfast sandwiches, it is easy to miss Caribbean Palm- a cart on 18th and Market serving Caribbean platters. The pictures of oxtail help separate it from the other chicken and rice platters carts. I went with a small plate of jerk chicken with rice & beans and mac & cheese ($8). The mac and cheese was that satisfyingly familiar, standard mush of overcooked macaroni and fake cheese. The rice and beans were on the sweet side. But the jerk chicken was quite good- the nicely cooked meat wasn't over-sauced or too spicy. It was a lot of food for $8 and a lunch I would recommend trying. Maybe I would try the yams or cabbage to replace the rice. Other menu items include curry, bbq, and stew chicken, and oxtail, goat, and fried whiting. read more

Today I did not enjoy my platter from the Caribbean Palm store on Germantown and Walnut Lane. I ordered fried fish, cabbage and yams. The fried fish was way too crunchy with the thinnest piece of white fish ive ever received in between the hard breading. The cabbage was very salty. The yams were mushy like mashed potatoes and they put a large hard cinnamon stick in the yams in my platter. Jerk sauce was watery. read more

The one on 36th and market is so good. It's usually there every day. The jerk chicken is so good, and has a kick to it. Make sure to ask for the jerk sauce over rice too. The oxtail curry is juicy and tender, best I've ever had. Definitely worth the few extra bucks read more

Had the fried chicken platters and the jerk chicken platter. both fried chicken and jerk chicken were good but the sides are always cold. The mac and cheese was different both times. Once taste like baked mac and cheese and once it taste like Velvetta from the box. Prices are good but the food is too inconsistent to wait in line for 10+ minutes during a lunch break especially. read more

Great food! Owner is very nice. The food is freshly cooked daily! The portions are great. One of my favorite spots for jerk chicken.
