Updated 2020 review: Coffee-ok. Bagels- still ok. Einstein Brothers Bagels are the right size for satisfying but I come here to catch up with friends weekend early mornings and they never have hot and tasty out of the oven. All but the Asiago cheese and honey wheat bagels are vegan. My go to are: Blueberry with pbj spread or everything bagel with avocado. For hot coffee I get the house coffee of the day; For cold: I have been lovin' their iced pomegranate Açai green tea latte with coconut milk and jellies! (Ask for no honey to veganize) Yes!! Jellies! It's like a boba drink at caribou... Pro tip: I don't recommend ordering veganized hot lattes; they steam their plant milk with the same spout as cow milk= cross contamination. Even if they spray/wipe it out. Not good for those who are allergic/highly intolerant. Also NO to their mochas: made with chocolate that contains milk and there is no substitution. Early morning weekends are a breeze. Easy parking, easy drive up. Very busy on weekdays. Add time for margin; watch out for cars coming into parking lot as they come in quickly from the gym or Hickman Rd. I visit because location is key. It's the only caribou coffee around here, till West Des Moines and Downtown DSM. read more

The menu states 'fresh baked' pastries. They're not. They took it out of a plastic package and tossed it in the microwave. Everything is trying so hard to look like Starbucks, it's depressing. Be yourself, Caribou! It was super super crowded at 9 on a Saturday morning. No way you could sit and relax inside. But the coffee and croissant tasted good. read more

I come here specifically for the bagels. Always tasty and fresh and the "shmear" (cream cheese) is so heavenly. I highly recommend the jalapeño salsa cream cheese if you are into some heat! This is my go-to place to get a cheap meal. They have a fast drive-thru which is nice if you don't to go in. You are missing out, however, if you don't go in. Im not a huge fan of Caribou drip Coffee, I do like the soy lattes they make but it's the environment that really works for them! Their shops are very homey and usually have a north woods feel. I like that they have fireplaces and lots of electricity for computers to be used! They don't have rules on peak time for working, so it's a good spot to get some work done or have a meeting! Comfy lazy boy chairs, or nice tables are the perfect set up. And who does not want to warm their toes by the fire while working in the Iowa winter. read more

Only go at 6 a.m. apparently. We went at 11:30 on a Sunday. They were completely out of 90% of all bagels (literally - all that was left was potato, pretzel, and 2 or 3 other flavors that nobody ever orders), they were out of chicken salad, no orange juice. Yikes. What kind of bagel place doesn't continuously make bagels on a busy weekend? Makes no sense. Will drive a bit further to 5 Boroughs next time, where they at least keep bagels available to eat. read more

I love the light roast coffee in a white mug and the toasted blueberry bagels with maple syrup shmear. I go there every Sunday morning before church. There is a big fireplace with four giant soft leather chairs. I just love the place. read more

This is probably the worst Caribou in the metro area. Customer service is a negative review out of five stars now the menu is as well. Don't bother coming to this location unless you have time to wait up to 30 minutes plus. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service, waited in the drive thru for 30 minutes. Loved the old menu, the new menu is absolutely disgusting. They pre-make their smoked salmon bagels in the morning. YUCK. Will not ever be coming back, hope others follow. read more

The service is consistently great, coffee is good and they have tasty food. The inside is in the smallish side with cozy seating.

I had breakfast here this morning and it was pretty good! They had all types of bagels and desserts on display and ready to order. The staff was friendly and helped me pick what I wanted to try for the first time. They had a great tasting lemonade!! LOVED IT! Every time I come in the place is extra clean and welcoming. The bagels are super fresh, and relatively quick to come out. This is my go-to when I'm wanting a semi-quick breakfast that's higher quality than fast food. I can't recommend it enough :) read more

We walked in to get the $5 Friday egg sandwich that was on the Einstein app. The ditzy gal said we no longer honor the Einstein rewards. I said your sign out front says Caribou Coffee & Einstein Bagels. I said we have always used it here. She said she was told to not take them. We walked out and are never going to return. I saw that I had enough points for a free coffee. I ordered a large coffee with full hazel nut, 2 blue sweeteners, and skim milk on the app. I pull up to the window and she says $13. I said no it was a free coffee. She said hazel nut vanilla. She went and brought me a black coffee with no sweetener. She overfilled it so that it twice spilled out the hole that they used to plug with a cap all over my wife's $100 Calvin Kline pink coat. If the stains do not come out you are getting the bill for a new coat. We will not be back to this store again. I am also tired of giving them the answer to the trivia question and having them not take it off because they forgot to ring it in while doing the order. There are literally 75 other coffee shops I can go to that don't employee air heads. When I called their corporate line the gal said now you'll know that after the 17th the points program will be separated and they won't take Einstein app rewards. Since it isn't the 17th yet a sign in the window or on the app would have been nice. But we are gone forever so KMA. read more

Just stopped in for a bagel and cream cheese. Spent $2.85 and only received about 1/2 an ounce of cream cheese!. Only filled 1/2 the one ounce little cup! When asked if this is all I get the guy said yes. Wasn't even enough to cover 1/2 the bagel. Haven't tried it yet. I will need to go home and get more cream cheese first. Hope their coffee is a better deal. NOT A GOOD DEAL! read more

I love this place! The people are so nice, and the food and coffee are great. They have occasionally gotten my order wrong, but that's rare. As with most Caribou locations, seating is limited, but that's not a big deal. If you are a tater salad fan, they have the best, but the serving is small. read more

If you go, you will like the coffee and bagels but it will likely take you 10-15 minutes to get either and your order has a 50/50 chance of being wrong, even if you are the only customer. We have been 4 times during our trip and that has been our experience each time. The staff is slow, inept and they need WAY more on the food prep line. read more
