Called for assistance to resolve and was told it wasn't their problem. GM wouldn't let me complete a sentence. Just talked over me saying they are too busy, it's not their problem, and hung up on me. I love me some Caribou over any other coffee shop. But the White Bear Lake locations service has degraded over the years to a point it's better to drive a few miles to the Hwy 96 & 35E location. - There is a female manager/lead at this location with the worst attitude I have ever experienced from a barista anywhere. - The food take much longer to prepare than any other location or brand. - They consistently serve orders that were placed after yours. There is no apparent organization or order Managment. - Drinks and bags are not labeled causing everyone waiting to open and stick their nose and eyes inside of it is theirs. This is where the manager above really casts a negative shadow. If you attempt to ask who it's for or what's inside she will snap at you with a sharp response that is it the kitchens responsibility and of the people waiting to be listening. - In the end you will be lucky to re over your correct order. And when you attempt to ask for the correct drinks or food, this manager openly reprimand's the cashiers from across the shop. White Bear residents are very proud of what white Bear has but there is no need to continue supporting this location. read more

WOW. This place impressed me SO much! I found this place by accident (I'm from Albertville and willing to drive 35 miles to this place!!) and I'm never looking back! This place has BUBBLE TEA! and no, not that new stuff that caribou recently introduced, it's had it since I found it in December & they have AMAZING flavors! I get the black tea coconut bubble tea every Tuesday and Thursday and my heart would honestly cry tears of joy every time I drank it. I think it's better than Sencha or Tii Cup even!! The place is very fast at making your drink and even if it's packed, I've never spent more than 8 minutes here! On days when I'm hungry, I get the avocado toast (comes on a bagel) and it's cheap + delicious. This location is huge and the noise level is medium so it's a great place to come and do homework or meet up with a friend (lots of tables). read more

Just want to this Location for 2 bagels.... We waited what seemed like a long time (although we were in a hurry so might have just seemed like forever). The bagels were barely toasted and the cream cheese was gritty. We are already half way home and not turning around. $10 wasted. Management Evan offered a free drink next time.... This was once my favorite coffee shop in White Bear Lake. Whenever I come back home, I have religiously come here, until now. I adored the rustic, Northwoods feel of the place. Caribou Coffee has always been a proud Minnesotan "anti-Starbucks" for people like me who have grown weary of that place's hipsterism. And I know lots of other people who feel the same way. Now--after being away for a while--I walked in and found they had expanded, which is fine. But I was aghast at how they tore out all the gorgeous interior design and turned the place into a carbon-copy clone of Starbucks. Gag me. I will never go back. I love this location! They make my drink delicious every time and I think the manager is super nice. She remembers my name and welcomes me every time she sees me. The people working here are always having a really good time while they work and it's fun to listen to while I wait for my order. Caribou coffee doesn't write on cups and food so you just have to actually pay attention and wait for your order at the pickup spot but they always call the name out so I don't have issues with that. read more

This is my local Caribou, and I come here to work 2-3 time a week. I really love the ambiance in this one, it's very homey and you can always get a seat even when it's busy. Staff is always very friendly! Cons: long wait for coffee, even when there's no line (yea, I don't know either), and you have to ask for a bathroom key at the counter (I've never seen a Caribou do this and I find it odd). read more

My experience at this caribou was awful. The worker by the name of Clay was sassy and rude. I told him I had a discount for my coffee and he told me he "didn't care." He continued to put the discount in but had no idea how to do his job. I was absolutely dumbfounded by his lack of care for his customer. I don't know how I'm the first to review this Caribou but maybe it's because there are so many in the cities. This is OUR Caribou. The one we run to on our way to work and stop at on Saturday morning walks. We're not regulars by any means, but one or both of us probably stops here once a week. Service is always nice and friendly, drinks are always hot and things are ready quickly. My only complaint is that I wish they had a drive through so I didn't have to get out of my car on my way to work in the morning. But I understand with the location that might be hard to do. Both hubs & I have used this for studying/grading as well and find it to be a good place for that. Doesn't seem to be crazy busy or loud and you can usually find at least one empty table. read more

The service here us unbelievably bad. And they have quite an amazing list of options, but never have them!! I've been twice now and they never have cinnamon bagels. The last time I went it took a half hour to get to the window. And then took another 10 minutes as they passed out wrong item after wrong item and cold food (egg and cheese bagel cold is disgusting). Amazing, especially after the girl had to redo everything from reading off my order twice. Agreed. It's a HUGE management issue. Really disappointed. read more

I stopped at this Caribou to kill some time and get a little work done before dinner. I was blown away by the sense of community I experienced here! It seemed like a fun, safe place for kids to hang out after school. One employee (manager?) Melany seemed like the most popular lady in town! As a complete bystander, I was amazed at how she treated each customer with kindness and went above and beyond to bring joy to peoples day. As I am writing this sitting in my car in the parking lot she is holding the door open for a customer with a cane and waving friendly at the people waiting for him in a car... are you kidding me?! This place is great because I love their coffee. The staff here are really friendly. I have never actually sat down and drank my coffee here because I am usually on the go, but it's a nice little area and I want to rest my dogs at some point. As some reviewers have stated, it's one of the smaller stores, but I am not sure that I have been to too many "large" caribou coffee places. Hands down I am a huge fan though. read more

I really like this Caribou! I like it so much that I even would consider driving out just to do some work here because its really quiet. I like the fireplace and the staff is super nice. They don't seem to put on the gorilla sales and marketing tactics as much as other Caribou's do. I would like to see their sales and see if this method works better for sales of Amy's Blend or Lamanitta, or whatever their coffee of the month might be. I am a huge Caribou fan, a daily patron of a Caribou somewhere, and it gets a little old at some of them so THANK YOU WBL Caribou for giving me a little break from all that. read more

Seriously. I love Caribou. And I honestly like this particular location/coffee shop. It's at least aesthetically pleasing. But this "new, improved!" store has been open for, what--well over a year by now? I gave them a grace period. But seriously! How is it that this is the SLOOOOOWEST coffee shop on the face of the earth? Every. Time. What is the learning curve for making (or POURING) coffee?? I try to practice the art of patience, but being patient is not really what coffee-shop customers have been bred to endure over the years. Consistently slow. It should not take 10-15 minutes to get a latte. Regularly messes up orders. NO REAL WHOLE MILK (they mix 2% and cream). This is the most convenient coffee place for me but I will go way out of my way to avoid it if I have time. read more

I would say this is your average Caribou. Mostly tables and chairs - only two big comfy chairs to sit in. Baristas were friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. There is also a nice little fire place and outdoor seating! read more

How can I be the first to review this place? Caribou's are spread all over the Twin Cities and their strong brand allows each to feel comfortable and familiar. The free WiFi is a great perk and the quality of coffee is consistant state-wide. Caribou is the number two coffee chain after Peets Coffee in my book. read more

In all fairness, the Caribou Einstein co-brand did go through some growing pains when it first reopened as a co-brand. Yes, it took awhile to get through the line at first, but the staff speed and accuracy has picked up incredibly in the last month. New store, a lot of new employees, and new procedures will take some time to adjust to. Yes, periodically they will run out of those amazing Asiago bagels, but those of us that have worked in any restaurant industry know that what your par should be on a given day and at a given time is a guessing game for the first year. You bake too many, and you're looking at massive waste. Sometimes days they sit, and other days they fly out the door. I am impressed with how speed of service and accuracy have both improved over the last month. The majority of the staff is friendly and very personable. My only complaint for the loss of the one star? Caribou/Einstein? You REALLY should have kept the gas fireplace. The heat that it gave in winter was amazing and the electric fireplace SEVERELY lacks the ambiance that the gas fireplace had. read more

I miss the old Caribou... use to have such a home town friendly feel, most knew my regular mother by name and would chit chat often. Now the new employees are cold and robotic, without even a smile. Wouldn't recommend this place anymore, the atmosphere is so new agey in a very negative way. The food looks unhealthy and mass produced, before, the employees took their time with each drink/food item and seemed like they actually put effort into it. As several others have posted here, this place is struggling. They struggle at the register, struggle getting orders correct, can't keep up, and 20 minutes later you're ready to scream. I waited with 4 other folks to get dropped orders, coffees correctly made, etc. Meanwhile, folks are lining up. I don't get it. No training? Insufficient numbers of folks for the volume?
