Caring family Dentist BEWARE! I had 2 teeth # 8 & 10 backing reinforced, to prevent bottom chipping. Dr Adam and associates did the procedure for $578.00 out of pocket, which took less than 10 minutes. During procedure they were more interested in discussion with associate about personal activities. At less than a month I kept noticing crunch in food which I later realized was the backing from both teeth which had completely disappeared after big piece fell out. Now out of STATE for the Winter. I called and got no response other than come back. After explaining that I was out of state for several months. And needed to go to another dentist. Which I did, and happened to be a dentist that taught that dental procedures. It was explained to me how the procedure had not been performed properly. I contacted caring family dentist Eric, and asked for a refund and got nowhere. Even after providing them with a paid bill receipt for # 8 & 10 redo. Now cost of over one- thousand for a simple procedure. With no refund and no cooperation from them whatsoever. I'am not the type that complains, but this is about principles. Attempted to go for my first dental visit today after waiting since February to get in for an appointment as a patient who regularly sees a dentist. I recently moved from The Lakes Region and this place was closer. I am pregnant and refused x-rays, I have no acute concerns and don't feel it is appropriate that I should have to be exposed to unnecessary radiation and I would like to resume X-rays once I am no longer pregnant. The office refused to proceed with the cleaning. I consulted with another dentist who suggested maybe it's a liability thing? I am unsure as to why liability trumps my autonomy as a patient and my informed refusal wouldn't satisfy them. The only other thing I can think of is the $$ they wanted from my insurance company. I am so pleasantly surprised at how wonderful and caring everyone was at Caring Family Dentistry. After back-to-back bouts with cancer and chemo, my mouth was a bit of a mess. I tried to make an appointment with another dentist and they were booking out a full year in advance. I knew I had already lost a filling and I didn't think my mouth could wait a year. A friend recommended Caring Family Dentistry. They got me in right away, Heidi the hygienist is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She took the time to explain things and she was extremely gentle. We determined that I needed not only a deep cleaning, but also a crown on a tooth that had broken and the filling had fallen out of. Dr. Adam did a consult with me, explained what the plan was and I have an appointment to come back Monday. Like many people, I have never been a fan of the dentist, but after today, I'm actually looking forward to going back and seeing everyone. read more

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. This practice is unprofessional and treat clients like they are an inconvenience. They are rude and bullying and only interested in your money. I had recently had an implant done in the UK and came to this practice as I was living in the USA for a short time. Dr. Schaffer tightened it up and all seemed well, until the hard sell came afterwards. This was off putting and when I looked at their quotes for further treatment I was astounded. Once I'd left the practice,I later got home find no composite filling on top of the crown that left an ugly grey dot on my tooth. I clarified this with my UK dentist and knew that this was considered poor dentistry. When I tried to diplomatically raise my concern the next day over the phone, I was asked to come back to see the dentist. As I entered the clincal room, I was sat down and berated in front of staff, and accused of berating his work and staff. I would have left immediately, but a member of staff blocked my way out of the doorway, so I took a harsh verbal public berating. When I asked for clarification for my UK dentist about what he had done he refused to give any verbal or written feedback and sneeringly tried to frighten me by stating the implant would fail. Astonishingly, I asked about 'duty of candour' and he dismissed me and the comment that just demonstrated to me what an unprofessional person he was and how ignorant he was of a patients rights. I returned home to the UK and saw my private dentist, who apologised for the loosening implant and what I'd gone through in the USA, but I knew this was always a complication , post implantation, not long after surgery. My dentist was astonished at this persons attitude and behaviour and said this is the type of dentist that gives the profession a bad name. Due to all the Teflon and silicone placed in the screw top, my dentist could not remove the screw successfully to check it. He has made a comment of this in my notes in case the implant fails and I have evidence to litigate. I am a health professional myself and never in my life have I received such appalling treatment and unprofessional behaviour as a patient. It appears that from all the other reviews I have read on this site that the New Hampshire Dentistry Board should be aware of this and that this practice needs to be audited. I am so glad that I have access to private dentistry in the UK that is half the prices quoted to me & that they are all audited & spot checked by the CQC regularly. read more

i recently moved to the area and required a dentist. I went to Caring dental for a check up. this consisted of multiple X-rays and a technician who graded my teeth. At no time did I actually see a dentist, the technician left the room and came back with a plan for me. this felt like a production line with no actual checkup. I am not used to this poor level of care and will not return, I am a person not a number or a cheque book. read more

Go to this place if you want to lose your teeth. I had multiple X-rays and a exam by the dentist who never once told me I could do filling on my tooth to save it she just told me a root canal or extraction and didn't offer any any options and I've had severe tooth pain now for six months living on pain medication and antibiotics and they never once offered to help and wouldn't let me schedule a cleaning until I got the extraction. Well I still haven't been able to get to see a surgeon yet and they wouldn't pull my tooth so I've had to wait to see a surgeon. Now that I have a new dentist and they reviewed my X-rays from six months ago they told me my tooth could of been saved with a large filling but now it's too late and will have to be removed. I've had a total of eight teeth pulled and didn't want to lose yet another tooth. So like I said if u want to lose your teeth then go to the place. Lack of CARING. read more

Adequate dentistry. I had a small part of my tooth that broke, no pain. I called to get an appointment to see what it would entail to fix. This was NO emergency and told them that. I was told Dr Sheffler had time open that day. I went in, had to wait 30 minutes, saw the Dr. for 5 minutes. I had an x-ray and was told I had to come back as the tooth needed a crown. I was then charged $155 for an emergency visit. After pondering this, I asked to have my X-rays transferred to another dentist. They were unfriendly and then took 3 weeks to send them. read more

I would like to share a horrific experience that I had to Endure today at this practice. After making an appointment several days ago and explaining to the front desk person named Suzanne that I had brand new x-rays taken at another dentist office she assured me they would get them emailed. Three days of me trying to confirm with them that they did indeed get the x-rays with no response from them. As expected when I showed up early this morning after texting and calling they did not have the x-rays. When I try to explain to them they had all kinds of excuses. "The other dentist didn't answer their phone" my wife immediately dial the other dentist and sure enough they immediately picked up their phone and emailed over the x-rays. We sat down in the waiting room and then were summoned into a conference room with Suzanne proceeded to tell us that she didn't like the way we spoke to them and that she felt the practice would not benefit from our business. As we sat there shocked and stunned at the disrespect instead of them apologizing to us their aggressive nature the dentist walked in a Dr. Adam Teixeira and my wife immediately asked him is this OK with you? Is this OK that your staff has missed treated my husband and is now telling us to leave because they didn't like us questioning their incompetence? Suzanne looked up to him and said " oh he was very aggressive and raised his voice with us we were very upset" let me assure you I never raised my voice I was simply trying to make my point over their raised defensive voices. At that point the dentist said to us well if my front desk people are upset I guess this won't be a good fit and you should leave. I want to reiterate that this was only because we asked if they did what they were supposed to do and obtain the x-rays. And to the contrary they were aggressive with us they were extremely aggressive! And so we are the lucky ones we took our $20-$30,000 job and left their office before they could be incompetent in the dental work as well as the office work. I am always very anxious when going to the dentist, even for cleanings because of my sensitivities. My fears are always addressed and not discarded. The hygienist made sure that my teeth were polished with some form of numbing agent and she also used a numbing gel for the gums. My cleaning was pain free and for that, I'm so grateful. read more

These poor people had there hands full with me.. A year ago...walking in...havent been to the dentist in well over 10 years...so much anxiety.. Well...everyone came togather and said...lets get you back to baseline.. Cleanings..were ok.. they helped get me back to good Ive had 3 or 4 I walked in today and had my final 2 fillings which i needed medication for... After a cleaning this morning that they put in my schedule knowing i dont like to miss work. They suggested, get it done today.. So i did. Im now finally done... I hugged Lisa ..Dr Adams hygienists as i left..were sad i wont see them unless something is wrong. Now they are successful, the practice is cocky, pushy, sloppy, rude and simply concerned with making money. I've been a long time patient of this practice, but am blown away by the service I received yesterday. The news reported RECORD NUMBERS OF COVID cases yesterday, at over 7000 cases in the state for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. And yet, Caring Family Dentistry is not reflecting this news, or even CDC guidelines for healthcare practices. Not only are patients not asked to wear a mask, but neither are the staff. I asked my hygienist to wear a mask, recognizing as a healthcare worker this is a high risk situation. She REFUSED. She insisted she "only had to" while actively working on me, and not when she's sitting one foot away from me in a small room. I again asked her to wear a mask for my safety, and she smirked while stating "I don't have to." She suggested instead that I reschedule the appointment (that had been booked for six months and I'd left work to attend). The management reinforced this, instead of asking the hygienist to mask up. They cited vaccination status in the clinic, and were not swayed with education that many of my COVID+ patients were also vaccinated. This is neither a caring approach, reflecting the advertised service in the facility's name, nor is it safe during a pandemic. read more

This office and ALL of its employees are fantastic. Danielle took great care of me today. I have had a substantial amount of work done in the last 18 months and each time is just like the previous appointments-GREAT! I, like many am not a big fan of the dentist office, HOWEVER, I don't get nervous any more when I have to go. I have had GREAT service at Caring Family Dentistry, and they do understand my nervousness, and they explain everything and are very kind. However, their business practices are questionable. They continually do work that is not approved by my insurance even after asking them to ONLY do what is covered, since I can't afford to be hit with surprise bills that I didn't expect. I do not feel as though they are listening to me. I needed fillings in the back of my mouth. My insurance covers silver fillings - that's fine, no one sees them back there so I wouldn't care. However, they filled them with the white filling and my insurance didn't cover it - after I has asked them to only do what was covered. I feel that they take advantage of patients and are just trying to put a positive image out so that they can charge crazy prices. read more

I have avoided the dentist and hadn't been seen in a long time. After finding Caring Family Dental was in my insurance network and doing a little research I made an appointment. They sent appointment reminders and even would text if an earlier appointment opened up. For my cleaning appointment I saw dental hygienist Kat. I have never had a better experience with a dental practice. She explained everything she was doing and was very gentle. The office had very high tech equipment and I am confident with their work. I will not be seeing anyone else from now on and no longer fear the dentist! read more

I have been to many dentists over the years, some better than others but Dr Sheffler at Caring Family Dentistry is probably the worst I've ever received treatment from. His demeanor is not what you'd expect from someone in his profession. He acts like he is being inconveniened by being there and could care less about the comfort of the patient. I was very uncomfortable during the treatment due to how Dr Sheffler was prepping my teeth for fillings, even getting injured in the process, and he couldn't have cared less. He couldn't even be bothered to apologize. His quality of work is not even close to adequate either, I have already had the work he's done looked at by another dentist and most will have to be redone. I brought the problems to his attention, but either he doesn't know how to properly restore a tooth or he doesn't care what kind of work he does, because it was no better after his attempt to fix it. There are far too many good dentists out there, do your research and find one of them. Stay far away from this place. read more

My family has been coming to this practice for over 5 years now. We are very impressed with everyone start to finish!! We have never seen anyone be rude or arrogant- quite the contrary! This office has state of the art equipment and the staff are well trained. We have only received gentle, compassionate care. A member of our family would always refuse to go to the dentist, but now he goes twice a year for a cleaning and check-up. Our family actually saves money, because thanks to the preventative care, we don't need the costly procedures. For people with existing issues, I'm sure there are cheaper options out there, but I am sure they can't touch the quality of care you'll find here. I went to this office for a second opinion after a troubling experience at Aspen Dental. They were able to get me an appointment the same day I called and already had much of the paperwork filled out for me before I arrived, they just need me to confirm the information and finish the medical portion. The staff was courteous and professional. Even though I hadn't scheduled a cleaning, they offered to do that too and save me another trip. The office was clean and organized. I felt like the staff cared about me and took the appropriate amount of time to explain and review my dental needs and care. I understand why they have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. The staff members are nice, but beware: they often give you wrong quotes without checking how much money is left on your insurance. Moreover, they don't give you quotes in writing unless you ask them. Now that I had to pay extra $500, I regret not making sure I had an official estimate and double checking after them that I did indeed have enough money on my insurance plan to cover the work. read more

I have been going to this dentist since I was in elementary school I'm in my 20s now. I have have watched this place go threw a downward spiral. It use to be you saw the same people every time they knew you and your teeth well! Now they are all about the money and trying to get you in an out as quickly as possible. It use to be you only had to wait a few minutes if that in the waiting room now you may want to make it an all day event. They cram you into this tiny waiting room with not enough chairs to wait and there's always at least one person awkwardly standing. Then they rush threw the "cleaning" of your teeth. For mine, every time they would only clean my back teeth? Good luck if you can't make it to the appointment you set 6 months ago they are so over booked they can't get you in for another 6 months. I have gone to Caring Family Dentistry Three times - One time for a procedure and Two times for cleanings - each time you could tell they were overbooked and very busy - during my procedure the Novacaine was not working because they were in a rush and did not give it enough time - I said something and was given more Novacaine - I was jabbed many times and felt the doctor was aggressive with the needle because he was trying to save time, this made me feel very uneasy + recently Two of my appointments were cancelled - I had to rearrange my schedule both times causing me a lot of stress - they wanted me to reschedule a third time - I work Two jobs and can't go through this again - it sounds like they have more patients than they can handle - Now I have to find another dentist - If they are that busy they need to properly staff their office - I felt that they did not respect me or my time this is why I won't go back - If you don't show up I'm sure they will charge you or if your late I'm sure they will let you know about it - When they cancel your appointments or waste your time your expected to understand - Very Disrespectful and Not Very Caring and for that reason I'm Out!! read more

I'm writing this review at 12:26am due to the fact that I can't sleep as this "caring" dentistry pulled my wisdom tooth and failed to provide any comfort measures. First off, my appointment was at 2pm. When my tooth was finally pulled, shortly after 4pm!, it was an extremely painful process. When I informed the doctor I could feel the procedure as he put the instruments in place, nothing was done to make me more comfortable. Apparently they had to "squeeze me in" so they didn't have a lot of time. Again, at this point I was there for over 2 hours for an appointment that was scheduled the previous week. The procedure itself was excruciatingly painful. I explained I had never had such invasive dental work done before and had to care for my 4 children as well as my daycare children so I'd appreciate a temporary pain management plan. I was told that most people do fine with just taking some Tylenol. When I explained the pain was past Tylenol, I was told that taking a cocktail of 2 Tylenol and 1 Advil is the same as taking a Vicodin. 30 mins after the procedure, the pain was unbearable. I called back and they reiterated that most people do fine with just Tylenol but they called in a Rx for 3 pills of ibuprofen. At 10pm, my mouth was still bleeding and I could not eat or sleep due to the discomfort and called my doctors office. The on call nurses were shocked that I was not given antibiotics or pain medicine. Mind you, I gave birth to 4 children completely natural, so I typically have a very high pain tolerance. I was instructed to go to the ER to end my suffering. I will have to wait till morning to do so due to childcare issues. So, here I am, unable to sleep, in pain, and planning an ER trip in the early morning hours. All of this could have been avoided if Caring Family Dentistry actually cared and respected their clients individual needs. read more
