This Caring for Women venue is located above the Pawtuxet Valley Urgent Care. I used to go to the main office in Warwick on Toll Gate Road, but quickly fell in love with Dr. Janet B. Lefkowitz. She soon moved to their Coventry office, and I drive about 50 mins to get to this office because she is THAT good. Let's be real with one another, talking about the doctor who looks over your lady parts is not necessarily proper dinner conversation, but man is it important to find one that you love. Let's start with Dr. Lefkowitz's staff. Awesome! Top notch, super friendly, and are always there to make you smile. The office is bright and has plenty of magazines, informative brochures, and fun calming music. The staff that helps look over you in the beginning are very gentle and kind, and nonjudgemental. Dr. Lefkowitz really gets to know each one of her patients. She takes the time to find out how your overall health is going, finds great conversations, tells you funny stories about herself, and before you know it, you're done with your appointment. Honestly! You sort of forget what was supposed to be happening down there, and you are ready to go! She also takes care in checking the "girls", and reminds you how to do your monthly self exam. I can't believe it's almost 4-years since I've had Dr. Janet Leftkowitz as my OB/GYN let me tell you she is still compassionate and understanding especially when I went to her when I was under so much stress and was in such a paranoid state and the nurse that works for her Clari she had to take a walk with me to keep me calm and she was very supportive and she has a lot of compassion and I'm glad that I've known her for almost 4-years as well she is also a sweetheart, I will continue to go there every year read more

Went to this practice And saw dr. Spurrell because he was my sisters obgyn a few years prior. Our initial consultation was awesome, he got to know me And recognized my name and new my sister had sent me. I highly recommend this practice. I also saw dr. Wortman and dr. Woodruff when I had preeclampsia. So that office is very accommodating. If you can schedule a nighttime Appt I would recommend that because they were always on time for night Appts. Dr. Spurrell was away when I delivered which was disappointing, but dr. Wortman and dr. Leftkowitz helped me through this process! Great office!! read more

Okay ladies! It's that time of year! Hop up on the table, one foot in each stirrup, grab that paper coverall, and get ready for the most exciting 15 minutes out of our year! It's PAP Smear time!!! .... Said no one, ever. Until now, that is!!! Luckily, for those of us who live in RI, we have one of the best doctors in the state, at one of the best obstetrics and gynecology groups in the state, which is Dr. Colavita at Caring for Women. Flashback to my first visit: I sat there Among the posters on the wall encouraging breast feeding or those warning against STDS, with the tray beside the table with all kinds of swabs and instruments that raise an eyebrow and make you wonder...'is THAT going in THERE? (Ya, you know where) and the fact that I was thinking of 100 places Id rather be. Just as I sat there planning my escape through the window, there was that heavy, dreaded knock on the door. Showtime!!! In came one of the happiest doctors I have ever seen. (Probably just delivered a baby, hence the big smile) "Hi, I'm Doctor Colavita" he proceeded in one of the most genuine, it's really nice to meet you, sort of way. There's just something about the first few minutes you meet someone...You can probably tell how your meeting will go. Right then I knew due to his friendly and casual demeanor along with warm personality, that at very least he will be very easy to talk to. As the appointment continued (I PROMISE, I WILL spare you ALL of the details), I became more and more comfortable speaking with him. And one of the other first things I liked is how I didn't feel rushed. Even with patients in the waiting area, he was very cool and collected and encouraged questions. When I checked out and scheduled my next years visit, I was sure to schedule it with him. Flash Forward: Well, as women we sometimes hope to see our gynecologist once a year, but things happen. As for me, before my next annual Dr. Colavita went from being my gynecologist to being my obstetrician. I was expecting!! If anyone wants to put the faith of their doctor to the test, I'd say pregnancy and childbirth is a good time to do it! Each visit & each time that Dr. Colavita walked through that door I was given a sense of relief that I, but more importantly, my baby, we're in the best of hands. Now here's what's important to me. Bedside Manner. I'm sure there were days where his day didn't go so good; Maybe a loss of a patient. A baby born sleeping. Maybe a young woman's test results came back malignant. Maybe his last patient was giving him a hard time. Maybe Not having slept in 36 hours. Anything. But I would never, ever know....because each time he saw me, it was all about me. If he was having a bad day, he never let it show And he was happy to be there. Present Day: Two babies later and a lovely lady surgery that only us women are lucky to have, I still see Dr. Colavita. And though his hair is grayer (ok, not really, it's mine that's grayer) our bond between Doctor and patient is a great one. He's a wonderful doctor who listens, never judges, takes his time to explain things, encourages questions and in the end gets the job done! When I started searching for a gynecologist, Yelp! App didn't exist. And reviews weren't as easy to come across. Yes, we had Google (I'm not that old!) BUT IM SAVING YOU THE TIME. SEARCH NO LONGER. Schedule your appointment with Dr. Colavita. Doctors are fantastic at both locations. I will say that the Coventry office could learn a lesson from the Warwick office regarding waiting room cleanliness. The carpet was dirty. Glitter, food crumbs, leaves and dirt everywhere. If you look at the window ledges they are covered with dirt, dust, and hair, as was the water dispenser and garbage can. It was obvious no one cleaned this front room or foyer in some time. Just made me wonder about the exam rooms. read more

As far as doctors go, the doctors are good. However the office staff is some of the worst I've ever had to deal with. Totally unorganized and unprofessional. I never get reminder calls about appointments, never get called to schedule yearly appointments, and rarely ever get a call back when leaving a message. No one calls you with test results and when you call them looking for the results yourself you get the run around. I once called requesting blood work to test for pregnancy since my period was literally months late. I was told they wouldn't give me blood work unless I had three positive home pregnancy tests. Which it is illegal to deny someone warranted medical treatment they request by the way. When I said to them, " you realize it's illegal to refuse treatment to a patient under patient rights, correct?" They were more than happy to give me the blood work. Which is ridiculous to me that I had to basically threaten them to get treatment. The only reason I'm giving even two stars is because the doctors are good, but the office staff leaves much to be desired. read more
