The therapist took me to a modest room with no equipment, I received a very brief exam, He touched my back twice very lightly. he did not actually even look at my back under my shirt. Had me do two press ups on the table and sent me home. No massage, no TENS, no ultrasound, no ice, not even a back care handout. NOTHING! The only physio equipment I saw in the main room was a stationary bike. No bands, no weights, no balls, no stairs, no low tables to do therapy on, just a bike. So, if you've never had PT before you won't know what you're missing here. They we're nice, but that is not actual physical therapy. I deeply resented having to pay for nothing.

I would highly recommend this physical therapy practice to anyone. I didn't have to do any insurance paperwork they took care of everything, and they are less than 15 minutes from my house. I really like that I get an email reminder the day before my appointment. When I arrive I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes and very often they are ready to get started when I arrive. For your aches and pains try these guys out.

I've been going here for years. YEARS!…read more The first PT was nice, friendly, but terribly antisemitic -- once she discovered I was Jewish, she refused to look me in the eye. Turns out the owner, Tiffany, hates Jews and feels comfortable discriminating against them. I have cancer -- hence the need for the PT. In spite of working with multiple PT's because they all left during to Tiffany's terrible management and treatment of her staff, I was shifted to a location over 40 minutes away (for a 40 minute session). I explained it would be difficult for me to make this commute, but I tried. The former location was literally across the street from my home. So, my daughter was sick & I missed a session. I needed to rush her to the ER & wasn't focused on a PT appointment an hour away. When I next showed up the following week, I was told I was no longer welcomed to the practice. Because I missed one session in 2 years. This is a racist group of humans who do not truly care about helping others heal. I would NEVER recommend anyone go here. Debbie @ the kulamalu front desk is awesome. Seriously, look anywhere else that you can. And God bless you.

They deal with many elderly patients, and can't take the 'word' of people and their 'symptoms and testing negative'. By now, everyone should know that symptoms don't always show up, but can be carriers. The tests can be inaccurate. They are meticulous and don't need to have the possibilty of one of their kapuna population get ill because someone didn't want to wear a mask. I respect that; even with all my boosters up to date; if I want their services, and they want me to wear a mask, so be it. Kudos to them for their concern over someone's 'wants'. They are so busy; they don't need the drama. Highly, highly recommend.

From the moment I walked in, I knew that I was going to be recovering quickly because of all the machines that this facility had for my rehabilitation. Kellie is my therapist and she is amazing, she is very knowledgeable and definitely pushes me but not to the point that I am in pain. I am 2 weeks ahead of schedule from my goals that Dr. Eno set for me. I will definitely refer this facility and Kellie to anyone who needs rehab.

This pacing patient, was wearing a Covid mask, but only below his nose, and the exercise bike adjacent to my seat in the waiting room had another patient huffing and puffing on me while he conducted his therapy. When I asked the pacing patient to please pace outside or have a seat, he threatened to "hurt me", all while staff looked on bewildered doing nothing, and the peddling patient yelled, "stop being paranoid brah, you go outside"! Staff did absolutely nothing and said absolutely nothing while I was threatened with violence, and demeaned for my "paranoia" which might stem from the fact that my hanai mother just died from Covid two days ago. (or prevailing medical evidence) Avoid Elite Physical Therapy like the plague. (or you'll likely pick it up there)

She deteriorated very fast. When I took her to Maui Memorial Hospital in early September she just got worse and doctors opened the conversation with palliative care. It was a tough decision for my family. We didn't want to make it seem like we were giving up, but we also wanted to keep our mom comfortable and to go with dignity. We started looking into hospice facilities and Island Hospice responded fast. The coordinator came to the hospital and had talked to us about transitioning my mom to their facility and what their facility has to offer. My brothers wanted to tour the area before making the final decision, and the coordinator was able to arrange this tour. My mom lives in Kahului. We wanted to keep her close to home. So ultimately we decided to go with Island Hospice. The facility was in a residential neighborhood and it looked like a regular home. As soon as you walk inside, it's very roomy and inviting. It didn't have that hospital feeling. We had informed them we have a big family and most likely we would all be staying with my mom at the hospice facility. They gave us the big room and gave us couches to sleep in and a couple of chairs to sit. Besides us, my mom had many friends and acquaintances, and almost every day my mom had visitors, and they were accommodating with this. There were so many great nurses and CNAs that work there. They really took care of my mom. Knowing how close I am to my mother, they allowed me to be in the room while changing my mom. They included me and made me a part of my mom's care. While they were repositioning, giving her a bed bath, or changing my mom, I was there holding her hand. The goal was to manage my mom's pain and keep her comfortable as we wait for the inevitable and the staff provided this service and care for my mom. I could definitely say my mom's passing was peaceful. After she passed, they allowed us to stay with my mom for a few hours before calling the morgue. When the morgue picked up my mom, they did not kick us out. My mom died at 1:30 a.m. The staff knew we didn't sleep and we were all stressed with the loss of our mom, so they offered for us to stay there until the morning, but we didn't want to be a burden so we left at approximately 4am. The staff was very welcoming and very supportive. They not only provided comfort for my mom, but they also gave us comfort. They were very understanding of our situation and how difficult it was for me and my family to see our beloved mom in her dying stage. I highly recommend Island Hospice. To all the staff there from the nurses, CNA's, chaplains, social workers, and the coordinator, and etc., on behalf of my family, thank you!
