It's something you must experience in person! The three-story building looks new and is tastefully decorated and well maintained. The food is consistently tasty and creatively prepared, and the cleaning staff keep all the rooms impeccably clean and fresh. My friend pays over $1,000 less rent than previous location and enjoys the convenience of of an ACH bank withdrawal taken by ALF each month after setup. You can choose from a studio, one of three designs of one-bedroom apartments or one of two designs of two-bedroom apartments. Memory Care, now Advanced Care, is available for those with special needs. There are many musicians, bands and performers hired to entertain, and there's also Bingo and many other activities and Happy Hour. Two modern and huge elevators transport residents between floors. Recent events include Easter brunch, Mother's Day and Father's Day lunches and a special cruise on a River Boat Paddlewheeler with a great dinner served. I believe that Heritage-Waterside is special starting with Executive Director Mary Noss and because it is family owned and not an asset of a large corporation. Mary and everyone on staff project warmth, friendliness and patience. What's not to love?

It was just great as promised and expected: the Executive Director, Mary Noss, was very thorough and gave us a complete tour of that Real Luxury Assisted Living facility. You cannot expect better. The Office Staff, the Servers respectful friendliness and care. Unfortunately, my wife had a very hard time adjusting , wanting " to go home ". As we are in our very late nineties, I have to keep her happy, and we advised Mary of our reluctant decision to leave. She was very accommodating and minimized the charges even more than we should have paid. We are very appreciative of everything and highly recommend that luxury facility. Mary Noss is very thorough. i have been ripped off by premier bathrooms…read more my 78 year old mother had just come home from a rehabilitation center where she was treated for a fractured pelvis after a fall she had. since it's hard for her to walk let alone get into a traditional bathtub i decided to get her a premier bathtub, the brand ed mcmahon advertises on tv. the premier bathrooms sales person came to our home and i purchased the "easy bathe" tub, gave him a $4,998 down payment on the $15,000 tub and signed the contract. a few days later i received a call from premier bathrooms, inc. stating that the "easy bathe" tub i purchased was not appropriate for my mother (they said she was too large to fit in the tub) and recommended that we choose another tub. he said he was going to overnight be the specs on the new tub. well, the "easy bathe" is the only tub i wanted because it was the only attractive, non-institutional looking tub they had. when i called to cancel the order i was ignored and then treated terribly. below is a time line of events and specific names and contact numbers of the people i've been dealing with. 2/25 - salesperson richard gonzales (cell: 847-809-9098) comes to home. $15,000 'easy bathe' tub purchased. down payment of $4,998 paid via master card. sales person takes digital picture of me stating it's company policy. contract agreement signed. 2/28 jason helka (premier bathroom regional instillation manager 734-591-2396) calls. states that based on my picture that the salesperson took on the day of tub purchase; i am too large to comfortably fit in tub. upon learning the tub was not for me but for my mother who is even larger than me, jason helka recommends an alternative 'boston' tub that is not pictured in their catalog or on their web site. states that he will overnight me 'boston' tub specs. 3/1 put call in to premier bathrooms at 630-941-1203. spoke to samantha. canceled order, requested full refund. samantha advises that someone will get back to me. 3/4 to 3/6 called premier bathrooms at 630-941-1203 on march 4,5,6. left messages stating that i need an immediate refund. no calls were returned. 3/6 called premier bathrooms corporate headquarters at 386-761-1830. spoke to ann (ex. 304). ann stated she would take the issue up with the president of the company and get back to me. 3/6 mr. meskino (630-941-1203 ) from premier bathrooms in elmhurst, il calls and states he will solve the issue. i state nothing needs to be solved and that i don't want another tub, i want a refund. mr. meskino then states i can have the 'easy bathe' tub. i remind him of jason helka's concern that the tub would not work and also state that i have lost all confidence in the company and want a refund. mr. meskino becomes very agitated, raises his voice and begins speaking in the manic tones of a grifter stating that he doesn't think i'm going to get a refund. attempts to intimidate and taunt me by stating i'll have to spend even more money hiring an attorney. thanks me repeatedly in a mocking tone until i terminate the call. premier bathrooms has since refunded me $3,000. they state they are keeping $2,000 to cover sales and administrative fees! bank of america finally stepped in and refunded me the other $2,000 via their fraud protection services. avoid this company at all costs!

When you first contact the office, it's all rainbows and sunshine. If you're looking for something…read moreshort-term, this may be a decent option. They LOVE to cater to new residents. BUT stay longer and all you get is glitter blown up your butt! You are more of an annoyance because they are focused on new blood to suck. The amount of rent you are paying - there are much better options out there, just do the research. If you choose Marcell - please make sure you have a look see at the actual apartment you will be moving into BEFORE signing. Look closely because most repairs are painted/caulked over. They are experts at bait and switch and masters at manipulation with clever excuses! Pro's: Windows - original from 1970's (except for one apartment) - they leak and if you don't get water during storms and hurricanes, you'll crank the heat in the winter for sure Pets - If you have an aggressive dog - takes 2 1/2 years before eviction Personal property - stolen - cars broken into (even if locked) Laundry rooms - machines constantly Out Of Order for weeks at a time Swimming Pool - gross because bathrooms are not accessible Repairs - plenty of paint and caulk to fix whatever issue you have - big or small and if it drips, buckets at dollar are suggested Hurricane - No assistance before or after as most apartments and lanais leak (not just seepage) Courtesy Officer - Walks the complex nightly and logs all the activities residents are doing basically ratting you out Confidentiality - not practiced at Marcell

I lived there for 3 years (too long) and the cons FAR outweigh the pros. The only pros here are some of the other great residents that you will meet and become friends with. The pool (only allowed to use until "dusk" when my current apartments pool and multiple others are open until 10pm) is somewhat of a pro but you aren't even allowed to use the bathrooms when at the pool (I have email proof of this because they like to deny this is true). They have also stopped cleaning the pool as frequently or as well and the amount of bugs in it was pretty disgusting. The (full time) office staff is outrageously unprofessional, rude and likes to speak badly of residents while other people are present (have proof/multiple witnesses of this). The washers and dryers on site are awful and there are always a few that are broken for extended periods of time. Your clothes will come out of the washers with stains on them that weren't there prior and the dryers will make your clothes smell of gas. There are two dryers in the small laundry room that leave rust on your clothes and take multiple rounds to dry anything resulting in a larger expense but have never been replaced. The place is old and you can tell by the cheap floors, counters, appliances, cabinetry, etc. everything is beige (inside and out) making the buildings and apartments look as old as they are as well as dirty. They will sometimes "upgrade" apartments when someone vacates but that is few and far between and said upgrades are the cheapest "upgrade" you can find. The "new" flooring in the main living area (dirty beige carpet in bedroom was never replaced and still hasn't been for the new tenant) of my apartment was a large sheet that was laid out in the parking lot and cut out like wallpaper. They tell people they don't "flood" during hurricanes/storms which is untrue (have many pictures to show this). We all had to get in the habit of moving our cars along the east and west sides of the buildings due to the water that builds up in the parking areas reaching a level well past the bottom of your car door allowing water to get in. My apartment would have flooded during Ian, Nicole and Milton had I not sand bagged my lanai sliding door. I also got a lot of water in my lanai during any normal storms due to the water building up outside and coming in through the lanai door/wall. I made the office aware of this and all that was done was to remove the plants directly outside of the lanai (snakes did like to live in there so it was helpful in that way). During hurricanes they don't offer any assistance with sand bags, allow you to charge your phone in the office with their generator or fix apartment leaks/issues within a decent timeframe, if at all. I know several current and past residents who have leaks/flooding in their apartments that still have never been fixed properly. The floors/ceilings are thin and I could hear my upstairs neighbors full phone conversations daily as well as the tv, doors opening and closing and any/all other noises. If you're unfortunate enough to get an apartment on the east side, you will have to endure the train which is just on the other side of your parking spot and is extremely loud and shakes the entire apartment. It runs all day and most of the night. If you work from home it's an utter nightmare! There is a clubhouse that you are told you can use but the first (and last) time we tried to have a resident meal together, we were told that we could not use it because no staff was on the premises to lock the door (which is untrue as 3 staff members live on property and could have easily locked the door at any time) and were given a foldable table to sit outside. Each year when your lease renewal comes up and rent amount is raised, you also have to pay more money towards your initial security deposit to make up for the difference which I had never experienced or heard of anywhere else in the 15+ years I have been renting. I could go on and on but bottom line there are so many other great places to live in the area where you will get your monies worth and have actual amenities besides only a pool with bathrooms you're not allowed to use.
