I just have to say, my husband and I love the opportunity to get out and walk. Carl Levin is always a wonderful place to go. We play some Pokémon, grab ourselves a coffee at the nearby Starbucks, which is walking distance or even Whataburger, from across the street and go eat at the park. There's plenty to do and places to grab food, just a walk away. Lots of Amazing people we have met on our walks plus they have a fab playground and community garden. During the warmer months, a pool to spend time on this hot Texas days with kiddos. It's also a fabulous PET FRIENDLY PARK! Basketball area, huge pond with ducks, a pavilion and a plethora of seating areas! Trees to cool you down. Along the walking path are little workout areas with equipment. Ultimately, our favorite go-to location!! I'll definitely grab pics next visit!! read more

March 2024, Beautiful park, wide path for walker and joggers, catch and release pond full of duckies was pretty cool to looked at. The basketball and kids area was pretty packed with people. They also have a garden that the city takes care of. Great for walkers and outdoor events. read more

So nostalgic. I used to bring my kids here when they were little and we still lived in Texas. Now we live in Buffalo, New York and they are all grown up and getting ready to have kids of their own soon, but when I came here on vacation last week I just had to come to the park. We used to bring a bunch of food and have barbecues here on the grills, and we used to come to the pool in the summer. Sometimes we would even go fishing in the pond. I have wonderful memories of our time at this park. The park is in really great shape and you can tell that it's well cared for by the town. I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of it but the playground is pretty dang awesome. read more

Looking for a quiet place to take your morning or evening walk or run? This is a good place to consider doing it. Located between Knight's Way and the 190 frontage road, this park is close and convenient. This park has some great features: Long walking trail (probably 10-15 minute walking loop on average) Drinking fountains Pet pick-up stations Old-style circuit training stations Swimming pool Large play area for chidlren (one small gym, one large) surrounded by shade trees Duck pond The pool information is as follows: Closed Monday Open Tues-Sun 1:30-7:00p.m. No reentry allowed I didn't see any concessions and no rules posted about this Get out and go to a park! read more

Carl Levin is an awesome park in Country Trails, Harker Heights, Tx! The trail is wide enough for both walkers and joggers. The park is large enough to venture off the trail and enjoy the ducks in the pond. As a Country Trails resident, my kids grew up swimming in the pool and playing basketball at the courts. There is plenty of room for a picnic, or many restaurants nearby if you did not bring your basket. Nice Gazebo and benches for relaxing. Nice shopping mall across the highway. Actually this beautiful park was a important factor in my purchasing a home in Country Trails! A Park as a Back Yard! read more

Just one of the great parks in Harker Heights! Over the years improvements continue to be made. I've seen additions such as the canopy shade over the playground, new playground equipment, the Little Free Library, and the Community Garden all be added over the years that made this park go from being pretty nice to great! They also have the City Pool here which seems to be nice though I don't have much experience with that amenity in particular, other than visiting the restrooms adjoining which are kept pretty clean most of the time. Great walking/running paths, beautiful pond and water feature, huge Pavillion, cute and quiet gazebo, ducks and fishing, amphitheater, basketball court, and pet friendly. Plenty of open fields for flying a kite or playing frisbee and even a few work out stations with various bars and exercise info along paths. This park is kept clean and well landscaped. Many city events are or have been hosted here including 5/10ks for various charities, Holiday events of all kinds and the annual PuppyPalooza. What more can you ask for? read more

The first park I've found with a cover over the playground for hot sunny days! That's a huge win for me. Lots of trees with shade, benches to sit and relax and grill, basketball court. Dog friendly. Definitely a great family park. read more

This is a nice park with a lot to offer. Nice walking path with a variety of things to please everyone. If you take your dog they have baggies to pick up after them. Easy parking and from what I have seen it never gets super crowded. read more

Great for the whole family... wide open with multiple options to include a jogging trail, swimming pool, fishing, play grounds, and pavilions. Safe environment that is a highlight of living in Harker Heights! read more

I have been going to Carl Levine park since it first opened in 02 or 03 and it has been my favorite ever since... I have a lot of good memories there from taking my dog running on the track to taking my niece fishing for her first time and now that I have a 2 year old son I usually come here... I live in Troy and I will drive 30 miles just to come back here... It has always been a clean and friendly park and I've never had a bad experience there. read more

I know it takes courage and guts to approach a woman but ganging up on a woman making her feel uncomfortable is a, NO! There was a group of white males this summer (2025) peacocking in a family park with women and children, running with their shirts off. It's TX and the summers are brutally, hot but I have never seen men out there like that and approaching women inappropriately with their shirts off. That new sun will burn the skin off your back & chest without proper covering. They definitely were not US Army or military. Additionally, there is also a school aged little white boy on a scooter middle school aged out there with those men & women in the of the middle of the school day out taking photos and following. Seems like some kind of gang or scheme to monitor women & possibly harm or take advantage of women & young girls. Group of men and women posted in vehicles and in the park watching & lurking & following. They stage strategically and use the kid on the scooter as well to track & monitor. Just be careful, just got weirdo vibes out in the park over the last several months. I know the park can be a space to meet people but this gives off creep vibes and predators. I don't want to be driven off from my community park that I love, but I no longer feel safe. Find alternative locations to workout or walk your dog. BE SAFE! Get some bear or pepper spray!

This road extends for a number of miles. They even have signs advertising an AM radio station that plays Christmas music that you can tune into. The quantity and quality of the lights completely astounded me, and the atmosphere they created was incredible. The price of admission, which is only twelve dollars per vehicle and not per person, is actually quite affordable. They did in fact have a "Santa's Village," but it was closed when we went there, so we couldn't eat there or take our children on the ride.

BE SAFE LADIES! There are men out in Carl Levin City Park following women, sitting in vehicles stalking & watching, taking videos (with phones & META AI Glasses), and trying to approach women in the park. Asking personal questions like where do you live? Where do you work? Group of men and women posted in vehicles and in the park watching & lurking & following. They also use female accomplices to lure women. Just be careful! Weirdo vibes out in the community parks, protect yourselves, get some bear or pepper spray. read more

Very tempting playground. In fact, I even tested it out - small climbing wall and twirly slide passed my inspection. A child on a bike arrived shortly after. I promptly left as if I didn't just go "weeeee" on the slide. There's also a nice splash pad and skating area which I thought were cool. In one area, there's a pond with some ducks. I do hope this issue is addressed as several men came out of the bathrooms with sheets and backpacks and the aroma of marijuana all through the park was overwhelming.
