I did an acting headshot session with Carla at her studio. She was incredibly diligent, on time, and professional. I tend to get a little bit anxious if I'm in front of a camera for too long. Photos are not really something that I like to do, however, Carla made me feel incredibly comfortable. She was very communicative while taking photos to help me get my best angle and feel comfortable in my own skin. Before my session, Carla communicated with me through email to help me find what outfits I should wear dependent on what roles I was shooting for. There are quite a few different colored backdrops to choose from. She quickly changed backdrops in between my different looks. And had her soft box set up to perfectly bring out my eyes. Carla is a very talented and professional photographer.  I booked her to take my graduation pictures and all the photos were beautiful!! My graduation photo shoot experience with Carla was awesome. I went on yelp to try and find a photographer that was willing to take my graduation photos near my school (SJSU). I became worried about finding the right photographer for me because most photographers that I messaged took a long time to respond and the ones that did respond charged between $250 and $500 for a package of 5-10 photos (talk about expensive). As a college student, I was looking for an excellent photographer that was willing to charge what I could afford at the time and luckily I found Carla D.A. Photography! She was quick to respond with a quote and was willing to answer all of my questions. I appreciated the fact that she made me feel like such a valued customer that I went ahead and booked a date shortly after. She was supportive of all of my questions and concerns up until the day of the shoot, which I very much appreciated because she was there to help things run smoothly. Carla made me feel comfortable all throughout me shoot and offered kind advice on possible poses that would best suit what I was looking for. She improvised a great deal during the shoot and the results worked well in our favor (i.e. making her own confetti with flower petals). After the shoot, she quickly uploaded the best photos in her gallery and let me choose the ones I wanted at home. It took her only a few days to edit the photos and the results blew me away! Carla is AMAZING! My family has used her as a photographer ever since my maternity shoot / family shoot late last year. Since then, she has shot for us a total of 3 times and the reason why we keep coming back is because she is great to work with! -BEAUTIFUL photos! I'm always blown away by the final edits of all the pictures she sends me. They're beautiful and it makes me laugh sometimes that her end product looks way better than what was there originally. Like, wow, I did not think that background would translate so beautifully onto the photograph but Carla's Eye definitely picked perfectly. -Carla is GREAT at communication. This is a big one for me because with two under 4, I can slip at replying or miss details in an email. Carla is great at keeping things organized. -Relaxed & Comfortable Photoshoot Experience. Something I deeply value with Carla is her ability to keep photoshoots relaxed and that she can go with the flow of the session. This was very important as my sons are 3 and almost 1 year old. AMAZING PRICES for the quantity but when. I tried to book an apt with her but I didn't have Venmo and wasn't sure about the date and then when I was sure the date was taken which was fine so I asked when she could do another she told me she was booked for the rest of the year which I find hard to believe. I told her I wished she'd told me if I changed my mind I wouldn't have had another opportunity. And she told me a hashtag to type in to find others and when I went to her profile she had blocked me. It was disheartening but I had a session with her before. She got one good headshot and is really good at photoshop but she was pretty rude in that one.
