I'm writing this review on behalf of my girlfriend since I'm the one that has to listen to how…read morehorrible her experiences are with this office. She had an injury over the summer and was referred to this orthopedic surgeon from the ER at Jersey City Medical (who are great, BTW). She had difficulty making an initial appointment as her recommended doctor, Dr Irving, has his office at 600 Pavonia but conducts surgeries from JC Medical, so he's always in and out. Once she was finally able to meet with the doctor, the office itself is very outdated, dirty and unwelcoming. Reception staff are blunt if not rude. She waited over 2 hours to be brought into an examination room, where she waited for another 45 minutes for Dr Irving. During that time, her pain meds were wearing off and she was in a lot of pain. I asked the receptionist where I could get cups for the water fountain so she could take her medicine. She said there were no cups, haven't been for a while, and she'd have to come out and use the fountain. Mind you, her leg was broken in 3 places and was only set in a temporary cast, she's not walking anywhere she doesn't HAVE to. I told the receptionist the situation. Her suggestion "you can rinse out my coffee cup in the bathroom." WTF? Are you serious? Thanks for the offer to rinse out your dirty coffee cup, but no thanks. FINALLY Dr. Irving came. He himself is nice enough, soft spoken and slightly unkempt which might put off some who expect their surgeons to be pulled together. He keeps a binder with all these old school illustrations of medical problems that he walked us through to point out what was wrong with her (strange) and showed us her xrays on his Mac Powerbook (yay, technology!). I noticed this weird thing, that he doesn't really look you in the eyes when he talks to you, but she didn't notice. Anyway, he answered our questions as needed. All in all, Dr Irving seems to be OK as doctors go. My girlfriend's surgery went well and she's currently going to physical therapy without any issues. The office, on the other hand, is a HUGE problem. Dirty atmosphere, rude staff and horrendous wait times. Very unorganized. Every appointment she's waited for at least 2 hours, and she always books first appointment of the day (11am). If she (we) could have done it all over again, we wouldn't.

For an appointment same day, they were nice and very friendly. They called within 14 minutes of me…read morebooking on ZocDoc to go over details and more. Got in a registered with their easy to use text alert. Got an x-ray quickly and evaluated by the doctors and pretty much knew what it is but needed to be evaluated with an MRI and PT. Great staff! Unknown why 5 stars. It's a doctors office of course bills gotta be paid.

*** UNION OFFICE ONLY***…read more Went to the one in Union and was disgusted. The orthopedist sat me down sent me to his guys or wanted to and when I asked if I could go to where I felt comfortable he was very dismissive. I got the MRIs went to him and said here the MRIs he glanced over them and said yeah you need to go to physical therapy. 5 minutes when I wouldn't go to his people he was very dismissive. Went back, told him the physical therapy wasn't really working he said you need to see a pain management specialist. 5 minutes again he gave me names that were an hour and a half away from my home I said what about summit medical and I was dismissed. Then what I'm filling out my disability form, he's the only one that doesn't fill out the form. The office response was you are no longer a patient he has no obligation to fill this form out for you. Only when I copied my attorney in the email did I get any answers from them and then they sent it 4:00 p.m. the day before the claim was to be closed. Claim was closed and denied. I have to start all over again all because of them. Stay as far away from them as possible!
