We took a cruise excursion that took us here first thing off the boat, unfortunately nothing was reversing so it was like ok a big body of water and a paper mill. We went about our tour and on the way back to the ship, I guess we had some extra time, so we went back by the falls. This time, it was reversing!! Definitely a very unique thing to see. Keep your eyes open for cute little sea animals (seals, otters, etc).

The pulp mill in the pictures has been set up to be green. It emits almost no smell and cleans the water before it goes back into the harbor. Depending on the number of tour buses, this can be one of your busiest stops. I suggest taking a video each visit so you can really see the difference between the tides.

We went to many fabulous ports on our cruise but this definitely was not one of them. IF I ever went here again, and I certainly hope I do not, I'd stay on the boat. Has bits that are more high level, moderate, medium, low... so really there's something for everyone! Even the pups, but remember to pick up after your bitty beasts. There's even a golf course, stables, a zoo, campground, RV park, Mountain Biking, Climbing, Fishing, Kayaking, Canoe... the only thing I didn't see was paddle boarding, but I bet that's coming soon and 2 lakes have lifeguards daily during the warmer seasons. They have winter activities too. You do want to make sure to check for ticks when you're all done according to their website so be mindful. Sounds like they work on the trails frequently but always want to be careful and watch your step!

"The Rez" is my favourite place to enjoy the day with my family…read more Offers a supervised freshwater beach, a playground, picnic tables and hiking trails. There is so much to do! There is a wide, gravel trail (wheelchair accessible just make sure someone able to push through- took grandma & loved it) going around the entire rez (3.4KM) but off this main gravel trail is 2 dozen trails (no official map, just have to look for the openings!) My favourite trail we call "beaver trail" - named because you pass a beaver dam! (have never seen a beaver but always have my camera ready...) To get to the beaver trail: Go clockwise. The opening is 3 minutes after you start on the gravel trail - its wide enough for 1 person so bring your carrier. Also, I've been temped to let my dogs off leash in these trails but one day I came across 2 poripines (they left us alone and we left them alone, no harm) but from then on will not let me doggies off leash (as the sign states lol) There are lots of beaches as well! To get to the best private beach people bring their poochies to: Go clockwise around trail. When you come to bridge take the trail to the right (along the water) There will be other small trails leading off but keep going straight and you come to a beautiful beach. Get out, enjoy and make your own family map of the trails you discover
