The guy serving was great and took out my food to me since I was on crutches . It's a casual place where seats are spread out and drinks are separate. Carlitos has good tacos, that is not the problem, the problem is the service and the timing are just wild, especially with the price. Steak and Brisket tacos are both excellent, but if you want cheese, you are going to be charged $20+ for two tacos that are good for airport food, but not better than tacos for 20% of the price at a taco truck. If you are stuck in EWR's terminal A this is not a bad place for a margirta and some tacos, but make sure you have a wallet to back it up, and the time to deal with the service. read more

Food is ridiculously overpriced, and the meat is extremely dry. There's also not much flavor in any of the tacos. Carlitos is definitely the go to spot in Terminal A. You're going to get airport pricing of course, but it's well worth the trek if you're nearby and early or delayed for a flight! Solid choice of music (Latino themed), food (options based on your protein of choice), and drink (margaritas, corona, and plenty of jarritos). Service is pretty speedy (usually no long lines or wait times for the order. Would recommend the brisket quesatacos and a side of fresh chips / salsa or guacamole. Definitely reminds me a bit of South Texas/Northern Mexico. You typically don't see fresh masa and tortillas in an airport, so this place has my heart (and my travel per diem)! read more

Well color me pleasantly surprised. I'm not one to say anything good about New Jersey and especially at Newark Airport but this was really good. They make their own flour tortillas right there and for street tacos they are a decent size. If you are hungry I'd go for the 3 taco combo (menu in my photos). I'd also check out the menu I photographed because it's hard to see until you are right up on it in line and I made some snap decisions because I didn't want to hold up the line. There is no table service which is perfectly fine because at EWR, you will be your best waiter. They also serve beer and margs! I had the carne asada and pulled pork tacos and they were delicious. Holy cow! You would not believe how delicious these tacos are, and in an airport! I ordered the brisket Quesataco, a steak taco and the Elote. First of all the brisket was so amazingly good in the quesataco. I just couldn't believe I was eating at an airport. The meat was smoky and a little bit charred on the edges. The tortilla was corn, smothered with melted cheese. No stinginess on the ingredients here. Tortillas are a nice thickness which really held up well to the juicy meat and avocado sauce. The steak taco was filled with steak and cheese, a little bit on the spicy side and very heavy on the black pepper. I'm not a big fan of black pepper, so I did not prefer this taco, but it was definitely a good taco considering the amount of meat and cheese in it. The Mexican corn was so delicious. Covered with cheese and tangy with lime, served on the cob. I would definitely, definitely eat here again next time I'm in this terminal. Four stars only for a bit on the pricey side as the two tacos and corn on the cob cost me $30.32 and I didn't even get a drink! read more

I mean I'm not sure why it has a 3.5 rating but honestly I've never seen fresh masa tacos made in an airport terminal. When I saw that, I opted to eat here than the sit down restaurants around it. Like come on, people! The carne asada quesotaco is delicious. As I type this, I'm thinking of getting another. The regular pork taco was also good-- but I def suggest getting the cheese!
