Over the past six years, Carl and his team have been repairing, cleaning, and maintaining my instrument and I have been nothing but pleased with their work. Their attention to detail and tireless pursuit of perfection is poured into every project they do. A couple of years back, a friend of mine wanted to learn to play cello. Carl's Pro Band offered a great deal on a student rental cello which was easy to set up and perfect for my friend who wanted to try it out before she bought it. I recently purchased a Getzen Bass Trombone through Carl's Pro Band. My situation was unique because I wanted a custom finish on the trombone. I called Carl's and was introduced to Travis. He was a huge help from the start. We discussed what I wanted done to the trombone and how we would do it. It was a three part process with a long waiting time. Travis treated me with an enormous amount of patience. He took care of each step of the process diligently, making sure to inform me and send me pictures after each step. THE BEST! As a reed doubler, I have worked with many good music stores and repair shops for many-many years. NEVER have I had such an amazing experience. I bought a restored professional Selmer Series III Soprano Sax, which I feel now is better than when it was new. The GREAT service, AMAZING restoration work, and attention to the most minute details (both of the transaction AND re the amazing horn's restoration) make me feel very lucky to have found Carl's (via an internet search, as I am in Cincinnati). Carl's Pro Band is great. They've moved to a new location near me recently, and I thought I'd check them out. The staff are really helpful, and were able to do several quick fixes for me that their competitor overlooked during general repairs. Even better, they only charged for parts (since the process only took a minute, I guess) and were able to help me with another issue too. The service at Carl's has been amazing both times I've gone in, too. The staff have been really patient with me even when I've made smaller purchases (side note, they have a good selection of instrument accessories, mouthpieces, etc.). There haven't been very many customers around since the shop moved so recently, which lets the employees here help out more on a 1-on-1 level. I'd definitely recommend Carl's to an experienced musician over any other music store in town. read more
