Recently my Accutron Spaceview watch manufactured in 1964 began running slow. We took it to a trusted local watchmaker who said he could clean and lubricate it but if it needed replacement parts he wan't sure he could obtain them. Because of that he would not be able to offer us a guarantee. We mentioned this to our grandson who surfed the net and located a website for Robert Piker. We called Bob and describe the problem to him and he said he could easily take care of it. He's very easy to talk to and told us that he got into the repair of Accutron watches because he had a similar problem. He taught himself how to repair Accutron vintage watches, and to Bob it became is a labor of love. He said that he searches the web daily to source replacement parts so he always has a supply available. We sent our Accutron watch to him and he called us back to tell us he could repair the watch and that he would test it for several days after it was repaired to make sure it was running precisely as the day it was manufactured. If you send the watch to Bob, he will evaluate the problem and call you to tell you what has to be done and how much it will cost. From our experience, his repair prices are extremely reasonable. Every time we spoke to Bob we were confident we made the right choice. In fact, he told us that not only do watch repair people sent him their Accutrons, but the Bulova company itself send him the vintage Accutrons to be repaired. This was very reassuring to us since he is one of the few people in the country who repair such watches. He had my watch for a month and a half. He didn't even try to replace the broken crystal. It came back to me, not running. I finally just got it to a better repair person and they tell me that there are now parts missing from my Acutron space view. The missing cover caused severe damage when Bob tried to run the watch. read more

After getting my newly acquired 1975 Spaceview back freshly overhauled , and after waiting many weeks, Im disappointed to find out it's running 5 seconds a day fast. this guy is supposed to be an expert. Fast forward, 2024 I take it or send it rather to expert in Thailand(searchable) highly recommended. Anyway, he reports back to me"The Anniversary is repaired now and running as it should. The main problem with it was that the sweep second pinion had its top pivot (the one at the back) rusted and sheared off. Everything else was fine, it just needed a service and adjustment. It was also missing its safety bridge, which is a part on the movement that protects the index system" I consider my original repair at mybob to be a rip off. Avoid this place. read more

This place is not to be trusted. After having posted my other review I found out that my fathers watch that i was charged over $200 to repair and was not repaired had the back of the watch switched out for a 1965 when it is a 1970 Accutron. personally I think this clown is taking the parts off of watches that are good and then selling them on his website. Beware. This is the ugly truth about this guy, Bob Piker. I sent the Spaceview my father gave me years ago. It was a terrific looker, gold movement with Accutron Symbol second hand and accompanying hour & minute hands. It needed a battery, Piker told me. So, six or more weeks went by until the watch was returned. But, it wasn't my watch! I had taken excellent photos of my Dad's Spaceview before sending it. He gutted my watch, removing the gold-tone movement, all three hands and the top bezel and crystal. Believe it, because finally Piker admitted to switching the hands "accidentally"... followed by admitting the next day to Switching the movement, again "Accidentally." He send me a scratched case with a buckle-tone movement and what looks like 3 home-made hands. He said he put in a new coil and battery but didn't charge me for the coil (remember he said it needed only a battery). As completely unimpressive as the watch looked, it did not keep good time. This guy is not to be trusted. Obviously he has some issues since he asserts that "why would I want your crappy parts when I have thousands of them?" Oftentimes we don't know or understand one's motives, why they say or do things that are beyond reason. Checking with a lawyer who read all text messages (dated), his belief is the guy has broken state, interstate and Federal laws under many classifications, including Fraud. This is an All Too True experience. Piker's own written words convict him. read more

Bob has been the caretaker for my 'fleet' of five Accutrons for over ten years. These are great watches with great history but I would never attempt to 'collect' them without a competent technician such as Bob. read more

I have used Bob Piker several times to repair my Accutron Astronaut Mark II, which I have worn for about 25 years. It was my late father-in-law's favorite watch. He is friendly, reliable and charges a fair price. My watch does occasionally lose time a bit, but I think that is a function of its age. My 1965 Accutron had been residing in my sock drawer for many years due to not being able to get the correct battery (long story that is well discussed by others on the internet). I started doing some web searching for what can be done about it. My research led me to Mybob.com. After several emails back and forth, I boxed it and sent it to Bob. A little more than two weeks later it was in my hands again. Great work. Humming again and keeping time as before. And Bob did the work for a lot less than others were charging. I apologize for the length of my story, but I communicated with Bob prior to sending my Accutron Spaceview Cushion case (less band) for repair. Received the info on how to pack and insure it, and where to send it. I completed a detailed form from his website providing not only a description of what I needed done, but included a note that he had promised to place a Speidel Twist-o-Flex band on it for free as well. Several weeks past and he finally notified me that it would not require any parts and that I needed to forward a check for $210 for his service. I made the check out to MyBob.net and sent it out. A few weeks later he sent an email to let me know that he could not deposit the check as it was posted and that I needed to either send a new one made out to Bob Piker or send the money via PayPal and that he would then send my original check back to me. I sent the money via PayPal, which he acknowledged as being received. I then left a couple of voicemails and emails to follow up on the progress of his efforts. I finally got notice in my bank account that Bob had deposited the previously undepositable check. So I left a Voicemail. Then I got a notice that it was in the mail including the tracking info (this was just a few days prior to Thanksgiving). I received the watch, but to my dismay it wasn't my watch, and in fact wasn't even close (different case design completely). I responded to Bob via Voicemail first, and never received a response, then sent several emails (including pictures of my watch, front and back views). He finally responded via a phone call where I proceeded to explain that not only did I receive the wrong watch, but he had double charged me for his effort. He explained that he would PayPal my overcharge back (which he did expediently), and that in his rush to ship out all of the watches he was working on before the Holiday he must have shipped the wrong ones to a few people. I sent back the watch that he had sent me, and then contacted him about when I should expect mine back to which he responded that the gentleman that had it had stated that he would send it back to Bob soon. After a couple weeks had passed I followed up again, and now I am told via a group email that he sent out my watch to another customer (which one he has no clue) and is asking that they return it. It is now 12/17/2016 and I have heard nothing from Bob about where my watch is, who has it, or when it may be returned (nor have I heard anything about refunding my money or compensation for my lost watch). Bob has repaired more than a few of my Bulova Accutron Spaceviews now, and they all work perfectly! He takes his passion seriously, and will deliver a well tuned watch. It is difficult to find a watch repair person who will touch a tuning fork watch as they are very time consuming to repair and tune. Bob is the guy for Accutron repairs!! read more

I'm not HAPPY AT ALL.I sent My 214 spaceview Sept.2019.To (Bob) spent 200 + for service and 245 for new coils. The watch came back running crazy fast,to make a long story fast.I had sent it back a total of 5 ( five) times) to still not having it run right to use as an acceptable time piece.I was about to send it back for the 6th.time,which I left a message on his phone saying that I was beginning to doubt his ability! He called Me back and told Me not to send it back because he felt insulted.Now take into the fact shipping cost Me $11.80 each time @ $59.00 .Now I have $529.00 into My watch that looses 3+min.a day. He did however return the service charge. His website says it 's the only Buluva recommended repair. I found BUDGET ACCUTRON that I had sent My watch to their basic service $260,and well worth it.They fixed My watch and after 4 days of running it has not gained or lost any time.(just like when I bought it in 1967)Back then Bulova said it would run + or - 1min.a month. My Bob did a great job on repairing my 50 year old Accutron Model 218. After many years of just sitting in my drawer, I decided to get it back in working condition. Took it to several Watch Repair Shops, only to end up paying for work that never actually repaired the watch. Then I found My Bob online and sent it to him.
