There's not much around for dining options. I used yelp and was able to find local eateries and a nice brewery. The campgrounds itself were affordable. They had everything I needed for my short stay. Make sure you check out the caverns while here. They are majestic. read more

great staff, we had to postpone our trip for three weeks at the last second, air conditioning went out on trailer. They moved our reservation back the three weeks without a charge so we could still bring the grandkids to see Carlsbad Caverns. We called this park enroute to Carlsbad to check availability and possibility of being near the bathhouse since we're in a travel van. The staff was helpful in fulfilling our request and very friendly upon check-in even though they are experiencing staffing shortages. We had asked about local Mexican Restaurants and a list was provided, and their suggestion was EXCELLENT (Taqueria Jalisco). We were assigned to site #6 which is a spacious gravel & stone pull-through with full hook-up. The bathhouse was clean and air conditioned, but we had to beat the workers coming home to the hot water. The Carlsbad Caverns National Park is just 24 miles / 30 minutes away. We were here for 3 nights and very pleased with our stay. read more

I made reservations 6 months prior to arrival. Reservation said 1:00 pm check in for Spot D05. I arrived at 1:05 and was told check-in was at 1:30...website still says 1. I was told my site was ready, but was moved to Site M1...probably the worst site in the park. Power box next to rig that hums constantly, and located next to the main road. No shade or grass anywhere. Don't plan on sleeping late. Permanent residents start driving by at 0400, then a constant flow of traffic. Front desk personnel will give you bad information about the Caverns. The pool is small, enclosed, and swamped with children. The dog parks are pathetic, but do provide poopies bags. I had an Amazon order delivered, advised via after hours phone call, the order was made for D05. I asked for a return phone call to acknowledge this...not received. I went to the office. Find a different place to stay to visit the Caverns. Not a restful stay. read more

About 30 mins from the Carlsbad Caverns visitor center, but 15+ of those minutes are driving through the national park so it feels pretty close. The nightly rates for hookup sites are great, especially with the amenities. We loved picking a movie for the night from the free rental DVD rack and they'll pop you popcorn ($5) too! Showers and bathrooms are new and very clean, laundry room is clean and organized. Indoor pool is very old looking but the water seemed clean and was nice for a dip when it was so hot outside. The park is much nicer than it looks from the outside. There are lots of trees and shaded spots on the left side, if you have a larger rig (30'+) you might be on the right side where there isn't much vegetation. There are a bunch of small fully fenced dog parks for pups to wander around at every corner. Very quiet, friendly staff, and felt safe the whole stay. read more

During the process of getting a site we asked for a site near the bathrooms for are convenience. We were then given site number 1, which is right next to the bathrooms. Now that is what you call service! We pulled into our site and hooked everything up, and everything worked well. The site was level which is really convenient seeing how we don't like rolling around in the middle of the night from not being level. They then gave us a key card for the bathrooms and when I went to go use the facilities those bathrooms were JAW-DROPPING! I've never seen such nice bathrooms from a RV park in my life! Later I hiked Guadalupe Peak and when I got back I was dusty and dirty, so I took a shower, and it was the single handily the best shower of my life. We have a Trailmanor pop up camper and what we think to be an employee came by and started complimenting our camper. Let me tell you he was just one of the nicest guys I've ever met. This was just a great place to stay, and I highly recommend it. No doubt about it I'm coming back! read more

Such a blessing this park is. Even though it is on a state road going out into the open road.. the traffic noise isn't bad at all. The staff here is wonderful. The laundry room is super clean! The bathrooms are as well! The pool looks nice though I forgot my swim suit and thought 'skinny dipping' would not be welcome ( lol). ! We really loved meeting old friend here (used to live here in Carlsbad) and the vib for having friends to your site was very chill. All sites looked very level too! One draw back... the dumpster was near our site and flys were a bit of a pain. read more

We loved our stay here. Great shady spot, we were able to stay be our travel buddies. The pool was perfect after super hot days and my 7 year old loved this park the most. Excellent off leash dog park, with a hose outside the park. Staff are everywhere so we never struggled to find someone to help. Everyone was so nice! We would absolutely stay here again. read more

This place is under new management and owners. And they are a$&@0les the laundry is closed at 5pm and expect a big electric bill on the end of your monthly bill. Wanted to like this place because the staff was super accomodating and nice and they have some grass sites. Am still unsure as to why they get good reviews unless it is from people that do not use the facilities. You get bamboozled by the clean check-in, store & laundry, and then you see the rest of the place. This place is way overpriced for the amenities which need serious updating. - Their"sparkling clean" showers/restrooms were so gross and trough style so you would be showering in someone else's grime even with flip flops. - The cable was spotty and kept going in and out from clear to pixelated most of the time. - Couldn't play horseshoes because they were missing 2 horseshoes. - Couldn't play cornhole because they were missing a beanbag. - The laundry room was super clean, but it was $7 ($3.50 each) to do a load. - The pool was very outdated & super loud if any kids were in it (it echoes because it is indoors and you can't hold a conversation). - The pool is cold even though they say it is heated. It is okay to put your feet and legs in for a quick cool off, but you can't swim in it long. They set it at 80 degrees and there is no sun to counteract the cold because it is indoors. The proper temperature for the elderly and children is from 84 to 94 degrees. 80 Degrees is for competitive swimmers to keep them chilled and stimulated. I wonder if the managers have ever swum in the pool to see how cold it really is. The pool was the only reason we booked this park so we wasted 3 nights here and paid almost $55 a night for a parking spot. The staff, grass sites & the trees give this the extra star otherwise it would be a one-star based on the pool & amenities. Overall, we would not recommend this place if you want to use the facilities. If you are just passing through for a night I would not recommend it either because it is so overpriced (there is BLM land all around the caverns for an overnighter). read more

This is a really nice campground. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We booked our reservation over the phone and when we arrived realized we didn't need all the amenities we had purchased. The woman very kindly offered us a different spot and gave us the price difference. She also was able to give us our "Good Sam" discount even though we haven't gotten our card in the mail yet. The grounds are well maintained. Everything is very clean. The bathrooms show a little age however they are also very clean and you are given a key card to swipe in and out. We had at least 40 cable channels and the WiFi is outstanding. When we were leaving another staff member stopped and asked how our stay was. I would definitely recommend this park. read more

We stopped here on our mega road trip and happily made friends with a dear community cat named Amelia. The park itself is relatively basic, but it does have an indoor pool. We didn't get to use it, though, because we arrived in the early evening, and it closes relatively early. So arrive early if you want to take advantage off the amenities. Showers aren't terribly private. Staff seemed a bit put out when we asked for a site with a tree (the park is very flat, and it was very hot, so we were hoping for at least a modicum of shade); we were told they can't promise anything to people over the phone. Mind you, we were literally standing in front of her, as this was an in-person check-in, so we weren't sure how to respond. However, she did ultimately give us a site with a tree, which we appreciated. Short version: Mixed bag. It's a basic, very flat and open RV park with some decent amenities and staff who are relatively friendly but not inclined to respond to requests. read more

We emailed them about a tent site and laughed when they said $35+taxes. We pay less for RV sites here. We then asked about a shower and was told they'd have to charge us for a full site because "sHoWeRs AnD rEsTrOoMs ArE fOr GuEsT oNlY." Places like this that take advantage of tourist should be ashamed of themselves. Jokes on them though as we'll be using the place to shower this fall and, instead of paying a minimal fee, we'll be doing so for free. read more

We arrived here after leaving the Carlsbad KOA. We have two well mannered dogs that we're not welcomed because they are pit bulls (at the KOA). Simple grounds but clean and well maintained. Visited Carlsbad, NM for several days in a camper along with a few friends at this RV park. The location was good, near enough to the city but also a good distance from Carlsbad Caverns. The spaces and hook ups were ok, a little small but not terrible. Amenities were hit and miss; showers were hot but the whole restroom area was in very poor shape, WiFi was not great, the pool was a little cold but indoors and we didn't get the chance to try out the game room because it was closed each time we went by. The price wasn't bad at $42/night so overall, it was alright. read more

We enjoyed our stay and would jave no hesitation about coming back. Central to all the tourist spots and close to Carlsbad and shopping. The only thing we did not like was the dog parks (there are three) were not clean (no fault of park but pet owners) so we did not take our dog for a run. read more

This was our second visit to this park and just like our first visit these folks are so friendly and helpful. When we called for reservations we were told we would need to move sites. (We needed a 2 night stay)We agreed. But within minutes Lindsey worked her magic and found us a site for 2 nights consecutive. She didn't have to do that. So what, that it was 104 degrees. But like I said, these folks are helpful. The dog walk are is nice and big. Some places have an 8x8 area and call it a walk. The dog walk in the back of the campground dogs can actually run around. The laundry facilities are super. Just $1.50 to wash and dry. Pool is refreshing! And this campground is convenient to town and the caverns. We will be back. read more

We had a WONDERFUL time here! The staff was amazing & friendly. They have TWO off leash dog parks!! This RV park is pretty close to Carlsbad Caverns & Guadalupe Mountains National Park. One big perk is it is close to Walmart & a propane fill-up. The only downside is they have a keycard to get you into the laundry/bathrooms/pool areas & gates close at 8pm then you must use the card. We lost our card but they were able to get us a new one in less than 5 minutes (after-hours). Overall, we had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it for anyone traveling in this area! read more

Carlsbad RV Park is a decent place to stay if visiting the area. It's clean, has decent facilities, the RV spaces are nice and wide, the service is very good, and it is located on the side of town closest to the Carlsbad Caverns. On the downside, everything is dusty gravel, the facilities are on the older side, and only a handful of spots offer much shade. A comment on Carlsbad in general: not knowing the area, we visited for a week as part of a long, round the country trip. In retrospect, we would've only stayed for three or four days--one to visit Roswell, and two to visit the caverns. The city is full of a lot of hard-working people, so there isn't much to do. Is also incredibly dusty! The wind kicked up for a couple days and it is going to take us a couple days to extract the dust from our truck and fifth wheel. Still, Carlsbad Caverns are amazing and most definitely worth a stop if you are in this part of New Mexico. read more

Meh. Pretty much a big parking lot atmosphere with hookups. Essentially no Internet, and not much to maintain, as there is really not much here. Little shade, fairly flat spaces, and that is about it. We did a one-nighter as we were going to the caverns, but more or less would have been just as well off if we pulled of to the public site. read more

This park was great, yes a little out dated, but it's a campground in a town where housing has a shortage due to the oil and potash boom! Staff was more then helpful in a less then 5 minute reservation. $34 space with water and electricity, owners out and about talking to everyone and it was quiet and clean. The office/store has such cute little knock knacks to purchase. We didn't visit the facilities because surprise, we went into an RV park in an RV. We used our own facilities. Driving through town, this was a four star hotel compared to the other RV parks we saw along the highway. We definitely plan in visiting the caverns again, and when we do we will defiantly stay here again! read more

If you sleep past 5 am avoid this park. Lots of gas and oil worker's live here. The trucks on gravel make a nice alarm clock! I did check out the mens bathroom I've seen cleaner rest stops in California and that's not saying much. Stayed 3 nights and that was long enough. This place is a dump. Do not stay here. It's full of workers who stay here when working in the area and who don't care about their environment. The lady who gave us our reservation took our money over the phone and then wanted nothing to do with us once we arrived. She was too busy and too far away to come to the window and talk to us about the park. It is extremely grubby and we were given a campsite 15 feet from somebody's front door of their house. There is little Greenery and it is very dumpy and grubby. read more

The cabins are nice and very small. With a bunk bed and a queen size bed inside. They charge $3 dollars per night for each additional person and you need to bring your own linens!! The bathrooms are nice and clean. There was one small issue with a sink which was immediately fixed. The pool was freezing cold because the heater is broken. The people that work here are exceptionally nice and ready to help. It's conveniently located, close to the caverns and right outside of town. My family and I enjoyed our stay. read more
