It was 545PM and Dr. Tsai picked up our hopeful emergency call. She and her amazing hygienist staff person (sorry forgot name) agreed to see us and stayed with us for X rays, consultation, recommendation until 7PM. Dr. Tsai also located an amazing anesthesiologist who was able to see our daughter the next morning. Office ambiance: 5 stars. The office has a calming yet child friendly decor. An absolutely amazing experience. We're in Carlsbad for Legoland. Our three-year-old daughter split her front tooth after tripping running after her brother. They took us after hours to take care of all the pain (all gone with a state of the art new machine) and the very next morning got us an anesthesiologist for the tooth removal. Really great care, absolutely amazing. I can't say more. We've been coming here every 6 months since my 3 boys cut their first teeth 12 years ago! They are worth the drive from OC! We make our appts 6 months in advance ànd make sure to keep them bc it could be hard to get appts otherwise. Yes, they are THAT good so you might have to be patient. We just make every effort to keep our appts. We love their preventative approach to care which aligns with our values. They really care about making the relationship ànd creating the connection with my boys. They look forward to their visits. I personally love the level of care ànd knowledge that Dr Tsai gives us. She is always up to date with the latest research in pediatric dentistry. One pearl this time that she updated us on is thay Hydroxyapatite is not as good as previously thought. We have been going to CarlsbaDDS since 2021 and I have not looked back. After every visit, I'm reminded of why we choose this place. I'm so happy we found the right one! When we first came here, I brought my oldest kiddo because his (baby) tooth turned gray. It was on its way out, but I panicked thinking my it could be/get infected, etc. Needless to say, the team answered my call right when they opened (I called at exactly 9AM), helped walk me through and explained a couple things (reasons it may have happened), but they were able to accommodate us and we were seen in an hour later. My kiddo is fine, and we got the green light to pull his baby tooth out - but I needed to hear that and know it couldn't have possibly been something else. This actually happened on 2 occasions, and the team handled it gracefully each time! They even did x-rays to be on the safe side, which I can appreciate. My kids also had their second molars coming in, so while we were there for their regular cleaning, the team checked to see if our insurance would cover sealants. I don't know if other places do this, but I really loved the team's proactive planning here! Billing. I love their proactive approach. For a more recent, last minute visit - they were able to check my insurance and circle back on any costs related to this visit before we were taken back to a room. I love this approach because at some places, you don't really know what to expect until after your visit which can be pretty stressful especially for our wallets. We haven't had any surprises with billing and that's one of my favorite things about this place well. I can't think of a better place to take my kids! Everyone is so friendly, professional and on top of it. 5 stars all around!!! Thank you CarlsbaDDS team and Dr Tsai for all the amazing work you! My kids love this place, and they ALWAYS look forward to their dental visits. I took all 3 of my daughters at the same time with my Delta Dental Insurance. The most ridiculous doctor which obviously doesn't care about my 5 year old new patient who has 10 cavities, which requires 1 crown now. They don't have follow up appointments until November and have a waiting list of about 20 patients and on top of that, they might go out of network with Delta Dental in the new year. They were not willing to make an exception for my daughter. Why are they even accepting new patients when they don't have sooner follow up appointments available??????? Waste of my time!!!! Now I have to find another doctor who might charge me out of pocket to take x-rays for their better understanding of a "cavity " which the doctor wasn't sure of until she starts drilling into it, so she said! New patients don't bother scheduling with this doctor. Please do more research when it comes to especially dentists!!! Don't trust them when they say they "think they see something but not sure until they drill." What are x-rays for if they don't give for sure results????? read more

When one of them needed a crown as a 3 year old( which was scary for me as a parent and her) they made it easy to understand what was going to happen and gave me a huge sense of comfort with the skills and abilities of the staff.
