He was so excited to get his teeth cleaned and brushed. Dr. Dixon was so amazing and calm with his demeanor my son was actually happy to open his mouth to let Dr. Dixon evaluate his teeth. I love this place. The hygienists are super kind and friendly to my kids. My daughter is always scared for them to do anything in her mouth and the way they act around her always gets her to do what they need because they're so kind and help her to trust them (not easy with my girl!). They found a few cavities but showed us the x-rays and spots to watch. We just went again and everything looks good from the new xrays and watch spots. The kids got to choose a toy and were given some stickers as well as the typical toothbrush and toothpaste to go home with. I wish my own dental practice had TVs in the ceiling like the kids here get. They also have a play area in the lobby. Very nice place that l trust for my kiddos. Dr. Dixon is nice and helpful and his hygienist are good with kids as well. The 2 front desk women are awful. Unhelpful, condescending, unwilling to communicate clearly, so I am done with this office. We have been going for several years, but I am tired of trying to discuss itemized costs for all my kids and these 2 women are sadly the face of their business. We just had a really disappointing experience with this office. It is unfortunate as we were excited by the positive reviews and initial interactions. However, we are now at the point of having to start over and look for other options as they refuse to complete the work recommended for my daughter. She went in recently and needs a cavity filling, filling repair and tooth extraction. Not fun stuff, but perfectly normal for a dentist to handle. During the visit, when my 9 year old daughter found out that a needle and drill would be necessary, she had a little bit of a breakdown, started crying and would not allow the work to be done. She didn't throw a fit or react physically, she was just reacting emotionally to a scary situation at a brand new dentist. The situation was handled well in the moment with the dentist mentioning the option for sedation work to be done at a different facility. We also appreciated that we were not charged for the visit since no work was completed. We discussed the option of using general anesthesia and reached out to the recommended surgery center to find out more info. We were willing to pursue that option if necessary. However, after speaking with our daughter in discussion to ask how she would prefer to move forward, she had calmed down and decided that she would be fine to go back to the regular dentist (who she really liked) and have the work done there. Anyone with a young child probably knows that this is not an uncommon situation. She has in the past had similar circumstances with shots at the pediatrician or other hard/scary things where she initially gets scared, but then is able to process and take care of it without issue. When we called Peak Pediatric back to schedule her appointment, they informed us that they absolutely will not allow her to have the work done at their office since the GA referral was provided. We explained the situation and that our daughter is willing and able to have the dentist do the work and would prefer that, however they would not allow it and simply told us that we could bring her back for cleaning services after the other work was done at the surgery center. We are not going to unnecessarily put our child at risk under general anesthesia (who would?) when she is perfectly willing and capable of having it done by the dentist. I don't know if this is simply the office staff following a policy or if they actually checked with the dentist as we requested. Now we will have to find another dentist to start over with which is a shame as my daughter really liked Dr. Chris and was excited to continue going there moving forward. My son also needs quite a bit of work, which we will also need to go elsewhere for. read more

My dentist fearing daughter is always comfortable and happy going to see the dentist and when there has been scary moments for her Dr. Dixon and his staff have been amazing in helping her through her fears and given her time and consideration. Took my 3 kids for regular cleaning and got a bil in the mail charging them for X-rays for all 3 of them. They already had X-rays done and are only covered once a year. When I talked to the front desk about it the woman told me I should know what my insurance covers...well, no one asked me if my kids could have X-rays, they just took them, so I never had a chance to say no!!! Now I'm stuck with an outrageous bill. Maybe my oldest child needed the X-rays, but there is no reason for a 4 year old, with no dental issues to get extra unnecessary X-rays. Looks like there's another reviewer that had the same issue!!! They are taking advantage of people and I will never be taking my business there again. read more

We have been coming here several years now. Through routine cleanings and checkups or the occasional dental emergency, they are the best we have been to. My daughter was billed for 5 additional x-ray films during her routine cleaning and x-rays. Because of this Delta PPO will not cover any of the x-rays. This is the first time I have ever received a bill for dental x-rays and get them done every year. When calling the office we were told it was because her mouth is too small so they needed additional films. Contacted billing department and they said to contact Molly the office manager... Contacted Molly and was told to contact the billing department. Contacted the billing department they said reach out to Molly again. I understand insurance companies are difficult to deal with and you want to maximize your reimbursements but not having transparency on pricing/ or letting patients know they may be charged additional fees for routine cleaning and X-rays is very frustrating. read more

I took my almost 2 year old for his second-ever checkup here after moving to the area. Everyone we encountered was kind and welcoming. The office is clean and modern, and the waiting room is spacious. When it was our turn, they checked our temps with an infrared thermometer before having us go back (covid). Dr. Chris was prompt and gentle while checking my sons teeth. Being a young toddler, he wasn't thrilled about this and cried the whole time, but Dr. Chris was still able to get a good look and said the crying was normal for this age. He brushed his teeth, did an exam and a fluoride treatment and we were done! Exams at this age are pretty short, and we were in and out in less than 15 minutes.
