I attended a University of Alaska Fairbanks (Nanooks) vs. rival University of Alaska Anchorage (Seawolves) hockey game and it was a lot of fun. The locals really come out to support the team, even the kids and teenagers (what else do they have to do?). It was a cheap ticket for a competitive sport. The Carlson Center is a good venue with easy parking options and a cheap seat is easy to come by. If in the area, definitely check it out....Go Nanooks !!! read more

We enjoyed watching the WEIO here and browsing the vendors. It's a very casual setup but perfectly Fairbanks. There's not a lot to do in Fairbanks so this really added to our enjoyment. Fun to get an insight into native culture. The athletes were quite impressive. read more
