Let me start by stating that "The gayborhood" is not a scam. it is actually a business. . With that being said they are a company you should stay far far far away from. The lies and half truths given by this company are borderline illegal. If they come to you claiming someone recommended you to them, THEY ARE NOT TELLING YOU THE TRUTH!! As a Business owner I was promised to reach 100k people in the Atlanta "Gay community" After paying more than I should have at the time I have not seen one single client from this sham of a marketing company. If these people come into your business or call you tell them you don't want anything to do with them.. It will save you some serious cash. I only wish I would have seen someone else's reviews of this scam before I wasted valuable money that could have been better spent.. read more

For the past 5 years I've been contacted from this company to list my business with them. I've been nice in letting them know that we really don't like using 3rd party listing sites. This year, it's gone to the extreme. They really have turned me into the bad guy. What really pissed me off this year... They actually used the Pulse shootings in their sales pitch this year. THAT WAS DISGUSTING! That shooting happened about a mile away from my house and took serious offense for them to use that shooting as a sales pitch. It was about a month after I snapped at their sales agent that I got called again from them. I forwarded our records to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This was over the summer that all this went down. What got me is the audacity for them to try calling us today. One of my guys was harassed by their sales agent. I called to handle this with someone. Got a gatekeeper who was the most condescending freak that I ever dealt with. Never gave me her name or position and wouldn't provide when asked. All these people are doing are exploiting the community in a horrible way. Maybe if they go to a business class, they might have a chance in making a success. read more

This company has terrible sales tactics. They called my business and I took the call. Agreed to meet with their rep and then received 2 calls to my employees the very next day--neither of whom were aware of their services and were annoyed by their pushy rep. I called back and cancelled the appointment--absolutely no judgement on a sensitive issue and very unprofessional. They give the LGBT a bad name and have horrible reviews (see google and yelp). I'll never take another call from these people and would never recommend them. read more

Advertising with this company did not bring any new client to me. I always ask the new customers on the phone that how they got my number, but none of them mentioned the ad I put in their yellow pages. The sells people tell you all these wonderful benefits of putting an ad in their phone book, but all that turned out to be incorrect. Do not waste your money like I did. The customer service people are Ok on the phone, that's why I gave them two stars. read more

I am a business owner, and I was scammed by this company. Stay away from this people. One day a person from http://www.gayborhoodapp.com/ calls my office to tell me about local advertising opportunity, I accepted the meeting. Person name Kat came to see me, and the first thing she tells me is, that she is a lesbian and her lover is a doctor and she wants to pop the question and she is going to buy a ring for $15k....... And then she asks me if I support gay community? Long story short I agree to do advertising with them, on Thursday Nov-1-2012 late afternoon signed to do advertising paid $866.00 but on Monday Nov-5-2012 morning call to cancel. A girl told me I should email the customer service and make it to Att: Thomas Ryan and I did that at 11:30 am Monday. 2-3 times a Week I have called for my money, and each time they had the same story that the only person can do that is Thomas Ryan, and they would transfer me to his voice mail. I have left about 6-8 voice mail for this person, I still have not heard from him. That is why I dispute this charge. And soon after I dispute, we had a respond from this guy to my AMX card, saying I have never asked to cancel this account in writing. Which we know that is not true! As soon as I notice I have my email, they change the story to they have lost money. I report them to BBB, and then they did return $192.80 of $866.00 back. Saying that they have giving $173.00 commission and $500.00 administrative fees, that is why they are not going to return my money, even when the contract said I have 15 days to cancel. My business has a specific clientele and I was nervous about bringing on a social media advertising company. I was pleasantly surprised with their information and assessment of my website. I decided to roll the dice and sign on for the 3 months they required at the time. So far I have had several new clients come through my doors due to the ad that have been running. My social ads manager Marshall is a creative individual who helped formulate the ads that would be running. He has answered all of my questions and even went beyond to help me understand what facebook's ad manager shows data wise. Im excited to see what the next month holds as I have only finished my first month with them. I will say that I already had a website professionally built, booking software for clients to sign up straight from my website, and professional pictures of my clients ready for Lyfe Marketing to use. I do believe if I didn't have these things in place the ads would have ran less successfully this past month. I will say I believe the initial start up with the company was slow. I was signed up and starting around the first week of May but my first ad did not start until Mid - late May. There were forms, phone calls and other items that had to be dealt with, but my first "edit" of my first ad was only a color change of a sentence. That change took 2 days to complete. I know the editing software they are using and it would only take a few seconds to do. This just shows they have other clients in my opinion and I am not overly upset with the time it took. If I could create, manage and run my own ads I would not be using them.

Before signing our agreement, their representative explicitly stated in writing, "We can design anything... we can turn your vision into reality," assuring us that their team could use specified AI tools to deliver a realistic product image of what our final retail product would look like, and agreed they could work directly from our raw component assets--specifically photos of unlabeled and uncolored physical product samples--while our pre-production retail samples were being manufactured. We provided these raw assets alongside exact HEX color codes, label artwork files, a detailed brand brief, and even our own generative AI images for reference. Relying entirely on this technical representation, we moved forward and paid our initial onboarding fees It was clear from the beginning that the fulfillment team was unable to meet the expectations set by the onboarding process and sales agent. Instead of using our source assets to create a final, realistic product image which they explicitly stated they could deliver during onboarding, it was obvious they chose to replicate the placeholder AI images I had shared to assist them, and even failed to label our products with the provided files. When we pointed out these errors, management backtracked completely, stating in writing: "...it would help us greatly if you are able to provide product photography, as that allows for better accuracy... product photography can help ensure the final assets are as accurate and aligned with the actual product as possible." This blatantly contradicted the exact AI technical solution they sold us to secure our business. If you're a business without final retail-ready photography, be incredibly careful with the verbal and written technical promises made to you during their sales loop. I also highly recommend any small business owner thoroughly check their Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating and reviews before moving forward.

Apparently, that's how you handle transfers and moves. Two-plus hours, multiple agents, three supervisors, and one frosty lecture later, I'd lost time, money, and patience. If the goal was to make customers feel like hostages, mission accomplished. The escalation department briefly restored hope with actual professionalism, even assuring me I couldn't connect it myself due to "configuration issues." Then nobody showed up for the install. I was told it was merely delayed but still "on the way." I paid a bill I was never advised of when setting the appointment a week earlier, only to discover the install had been rescheduled for the wrong apartment. That isn't customer service, it's slapstick. And the kicker? I called back, got yet another agent, and was told I could connect it myself now that the line was active. I did. It worked instantly. So congratulations, you've managed to set a new standard for incompetence.

He is horrible and his workmanship is too. I honestly think these reviews come from a google algorithm he purchased. I was told of a few things he'd be able to including the windshield of my vehicle and after keeping my car for six days overnight - he didn't. I found this out at pick up. Prior to dropping my car off, I told him my expectations and how I pay attention to detail regarding my vehicle. I made a comment that if you see anything, PLEASE let me know prior to wrapping as this is a brand new car with 200 miles on it. When I went to pick my vehicle up there was a chip in the paint on hood from a rock that he covered up with wrap. The windshield tint wasn't done and the wrap wasn't completed on parts of my car. The tint on the windows wasn't properly applied and it wasn't machine cut as he indicated it would be so it looked HORRIBLE! AFTER SIX DAYS! AFTER SIX DAYS OF HAVING MY CAR!! Like wth were you doing? Your reasoning for having my car that long was because YOU like to pay attention to detail, but you didn't. You mentioned you liked to TUCK all of the wrap, but it wasn't! I talked to him about the deficiencies of the job and he told me he would refund me the portion he didn't do! He took $300 off because he didn't want me to make a review, AS HE INDICATED. When I left, I thought the car was in much better shape than what the naked eye could see. Here we are two months later and I can see everything only after putting an additional 350 miles on my car. The wrap on my wing is spotted and the cheap ass 3M wrap around my car is peeling off because he DIDN'T tuck the wrap as he indicated and he had his employee do this botch job. Again, THIS MAN SAID ALL OF MY WRAP IS TUCKED SO THERE WON'T BE ANY LINES!! (That's why I thought he'd needed the car for so long because my other vehicles took a day and they were bigger) So now I have to get ALL of this pulled off and redone because he is not answering calls or responding to text messages! So, I'm out 3k to get this done because of this bad job when I should have been refunded for the whole thing at the start - LIKE I ASKED. This man did nothing right with my wrap, NOTHING. The front tint had to be done over because of the imperfect cut, the hood had to be done over because he wrapped over a rock chip! *sigh. Now my whole vehicle has to be wrapped again. Whew! Jesus be a fence. This was just a trash trash TRASH experience! Trust me, he knows it! Thank GOD for my bank. Back to TINT WORLD I go! I should have stuck with Tint World, but this guy had so many great reviews and the prices were cheaper! I guess this is what I get! Botched reviews, botched service! I'm sure when he reads this review I'll get a response in text message or a response here. Let's see. I'll post pictures of the text I sent him and the bad job. My number is still the same if you decide to call and make this right.

This company is amazing! I have been advertising in The Gay Community Yellow Pages for almost 5 years and have seen awesome results! Now that they have the Gayborhood application, I am receiving a lot of new business from the website and iPhone application. I will admit, I'm not a techy....but it seems to be working for my business. I have also advertised in some of their other publications and have gotten great results. It is important to remember that they are a small business, so that means that instead of a faceless machine, you get to deal with actual people! That, of course, has pros and cons.
