I only give 2 stars because Dr. Carmen was always a pleasure. I miss 13 years ago when Dr…read more Stevenson was there. It seemed everything changed once he was gone and especially after the pandemic. They were still doing curbside visits 2 1/2 years later. I have been bringing many animals there for 13 years. Some of which were stray cats in the area. I would get them fixed through humane society, but get shots through the vet when I could. We also brought our dogs and pet cats there. I sent a lot of business that way. One time I had an appointment, I had an issue trying to catch the cat. I did call & explain, made another appointment & had to cancel that and give up. A year later, I missed an appointment because I had car trouble. I was actually bringing in my old, sick cat. My ride ended up running late & I knew it was nearly impossible to make the appointment. I tried to call 2 hours prior & got voice-mail so I also emailed. At 10 after my appointment time, as we are sitting in traffic, they called. I explained what happened and that I did call and email and may have made it if not for a traffic jam. The girl was incredibly curt and rude and told me not to bother. I then received a response to my email telling me I should have just rescheduled my appointment the day before once my car gave me a problem and I needed to find another vet. I am not making this up. After 13 years. It was pretty disgusting. So I have taken all my animals, my stray assistance needs & any friend or listener with me and I am just fine with that.

I cannot speak highly enough about this practice. I was doing comparison pricing for the sad task…read moreof saying goodbye to our son's dog who was in failing health. Their costs were far below the other vets in the area. We were able to get an appointment the next day to end his suffering. We arrived early and were warmly greeted with assurance that they would get us into a room promptly and they did. They had a clean, thick blanket on the floor waiting for our granddog. The vet, Dr. Stevenson came in and introduced himself and greeted our pet with treats to put him at ease. He asked a few questions to familiarize himself with our circumstances and gave some more treats for our boy. He reinforced our decision by observing his labored breathing, explaining that he was at the top limit of his life expectancy , and suggesting that he was tired from all the effort to breathe, stand, and walk and that he was in a constant state of discomfort. He explained the steps of the procedure and then began the process. After administering the initial sedative, he left us with our boy to say goodbye. He returned and waited with us as he drew his last breath. He encouraged us to stay as long as we wished and when we felt comfortable leaving he hugged me and told us to take care of each other--such a caring touching comment. When I mentioned that we would leave so we could settle up at the desk, he told is we didn't have to do that right then; we could come in the next day if it would be easier on us. To put our grief before his profit was overwhelming. They also provide a plaster paw cast of our furbaby. The tender touches Animal Care of Hendersonville provided won us over. We will use them again for ALL veterinary services when we are in the area.

I've had great vets for my pets over the years, but none better than these guys. It's been a year…read moreor so, but I still often think about the night I had to put my beloved Maggie down, and how great WCR treated me. I actually had 3 instances taking Maggie to WCR. First I thought she had eaten fertilizer. I called ahead and as soon as we got there, they were ready/waiting and hustled us into side room. They were terrific. The last 2 times were for when Maggie became very sick and I put her down. WCR were again all 100% accommodating, giving us extra attention. Both our nurse and physician fought back tears through the process. I love WCR and always will, for that. Are they expensive? Yes, of course. It's not cheap running a business, and I promise you will get MORE than your money's worth there. And I understand, believe me. I had to borrow my mom's credit card to pay them (and I'm 56 years old)! And I can't offer an easy fix for that, other than maybe they'll work with you on payments, or try pet insurance or Care Credit. IMO, WCR is by far the best pet medical care you can get. As I've lived all over and taken pets to several vets all over the US - I would wager that WCR is probably one of best in the nation and world!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I wrote a sterling review for this practice in 2014 and am sad to say I can no longer recommend it…read moreto anyone. Dr. Zehr no longer sees patients at this practice and since his departure, it has gone dramatically downhill. Our first Goldendoodle had to be put down in 2016 and the practice was kind, caring and professional in every way. Sadly, that has all changed. Today, we took our second Goldendoodle (age 7) for a routine annual exam. She had no issues. The technician tried to drag her from the exam room to draw blood and utterly terrified this gentle, well behaved dog. When we addressed this with Dr. Curry, the response was somewhat defensive. Throughout the visit, there was no attempt to make our dog relaxed or comfortable; it felt like the vet and staff were in a hurry to get rid of us. We were floored, as this has, in the past, always been a kind, compassionate practice. Our dog left nervous and ill at ease, as were we. After over 17 years with this practice, we must fine a new vet. On top of all the lack of caring and defensiveness, the office gave the appearance of being very haphazard and disorganized. We had to walk our dog back to a room for drawing blood, passing an open door where another dog was being operated on in plain view. Completely unacceptable. Please think twice about taking your beloved pet to these folks. While there are still some good staff there, left over from Dr. Zehr's era, we strongly recommend against using them. It was an unnecessarily traumatic and unpleasant experience for us and our lovely dog.

The company you keep i guess.. Well here it goes! There is a male Dr. here whom I will praise, However, the rest of this company is not worth the ground it sits on. Sounds harsh, but that's how I get when it comes to my dogs. You can never get an answer from these people's front desk, and when you ask about it, they'll say "they don't know what happened they don't see your multiple calls or voicemails" and then tell you your dogs are behind on almost 5 shots a piece. (5 shots behind STARTING IN 2023 MIND YOU WEVE BEEN IN THERE SINCE MANY TIMES) My one dog had a surgery there (by the very awesome older male dr) and i was told her stitches were dissolvable, and they were not. 6-7 weeks post operation, we couldn't get ahold of anyone and just cut the stitches out ourselves. And then they will violate NC Medical Veterinary Laws and tell other people about your dogs surgeries just to "get you to drop it." I did one better, i dropped the whole vet and found a new one! UPDATE!!! The bottom is the note Dr Beverly Hargis left for my new vet!!! So Apparently they DIDDDD SEE MY VOICEMAILS HAHAH!!! (when they said i never called??) While looking at the first screenshot, notice the dates my first dog went out of all of her shots and we were NEVER notified! (Side note, the only way i got her phone number to TEXT HER was from family!!) Here's a screenshot of the very respectful texts i've sent to Beverley. I would never call a business owner personally after hours, as I am a business owner myself. 10/10 will never be back to this vet. We're LAUGHING at this even being posted!!! New Vet definitely saw this as vindictive and so do we. Oh and while i'm at it let me leave the voicemail Linda left me, it's a reallll kicker.
