I only give 2 stars because Dr. Carmen was always a pleasure. I miss 13 years ago when Dr…read more Stevenson was there. It seemed everything changed once he was gone and especially after the pandemic. They were still doing curbside visits 2 1/2 years later. I have been bringing many animals there for 13 years. Some of which were stray cats in the area. I would get them fixed through humane society, but get shots through the vet when I could. We also brought our dogs and pet cats there. I sent a lot of business that way. One time I had an appointment, I had an issue trying to catch the cat. I did call & explain, made another appointment & had to cancel that and give up. A year later, I missed an appointment because I had car trouble. I was actually bringing in my old, sick cat. My ride ended up running late & I knew it was nearly impossible to make the appointment. I tried to call 2 hours prior & got voice-mail so I also emailed. At 10 after my appointment time, as we are sitting in traffic, they called. I explained what happened and that I did call and email and may have made it if not for a traffic jam. The girl was incredibly curt and rude and told me not to bother. I then received a response to my email telling me I should have just rescheduled my appointment the day before once my car gave me a problem and I needed to find another vet. I am not making this up. After 13 years. It was pretty disgusting. So I have taken all my animals, my stray assistance needs & any friend or listener with me and I am just fine with that.

Their costs were far below the other vets in the area. We were able to get an appointment the next day to end his suffering. We arrived early and were warmly greeted with assurance that they would get us into a room promptly and they did. They had a clean, thick blanket on the floor waiting for our granddog. The vet, Dr. Stevenson came in and introduced himself and greeted our pet with treats to put him at ease. He asked a few questions to familiarize himself with our circumstances and gave some more treats for our boy. He reinforced our decision by observing his labored breathing, explaining that he was at the top limit of his life expectancy , and suggesting that he was tired from all the effort to breathe, stand, and walk and that he was in a constant state of discomfort. He explained the steps of the procedure and then began the process. After administering the initial sedative, he left us with our boy to say goodbye. He returned and waited with us as he drew his last breath. He encouraged us to stay as long as we wished and when we felt comfortable leaving he hugged me and told us to take care of each other--such a caring touching comment. When I mentioned that we would leave so we could settle up at the desk, he told is we didn't have to do that right then; we could come in the next day if it would be easier on us. To put our grief before his profit was overwhelming. They also provide a plaster paw cast of our furbaby. The tender touches Animal Care of Hendersonville provided won us over. We will use them again for ALL veterinary services when we are in the area.

We were/are heartbroken but I cannot imagine the dreadful experience being any better than what we experienced today at Laurel Park Animal Hospital. From the moment we walked in we were shown kindness and sympathy for our pet and our feelings. I wasn't sure what to expect from the procedure but Dr. Pernell explained things thoroughly and allowed us time with Toby at every step of the process, even leaving the room to allow us ample time to grieve when the procedure was complete. We chose to bury our dog at home on our property. Dr. Pernell took Toby and prepared him in a burial box wrapped in his favorite blanket, then delivered him to us as my wife and I were still sobbing outside near our car. Dr. Pernell's bedside manner was impeccable. He truly made one of the worst days in our lives better. I cannot thank him enough. It was comforting having a doctor that truly understood and provided great care to my family in our time of need.

Up until recently we brought a cat that kept coughing and throwing up mucus. My cat initially had a respiratory infection and got treatment for it but never fully recovered from it. My cat didn't get better and when we came back they told us it was just asthma. We went to the vet over 3 times for his "asthma" and they still sent us home. The initial medicine barely helped and when we came back they kept insisting it was asthma and even recommended us baby cough medicine. I asked several times if he was sure but he was bold about his responses and kept insisting it was just asthma. When we gave him the baby medicine that the vet told us about, my cats kept spewing from his mouth and was left worse than before. A few days after we gave him the medicine he stopped breathing and hid himself away to pass away. This is so devastating for us because we always received great pet care until recently. I don't understand how he even became a vet. I, a teenager could tell he was gravely ill, so how could a vet not see that? He needs to get fired because he seems extremely uneducated in his field. Not to mention the bad treatment my cat received, the vet was also super micro-aggresive. Im hispanic and he kept making rude comments about my "accent" pretending he didn't understand me. I am 100% American, born and raised. He kept insinuating that I wasn't from here and making rude remarks. I 100% do not recommend this place if you want decent respect and pet care from the vet. I will never be bringing another pet to this place after the passing of my cat and the rude racist comments. They dismissed my cat's issues and had the audacity to say it was just allergies. They KILLED my cat and they will kill your animal if you come here. DONT come here if you want a you pet to live.
