Fast and great customer service. The employees are very knowledgeable and get you the answers you need. They have a great car/truck selection. They have a small kids corner and vending machines for some snack while you wait. Overall great experience. read more

I worked at Car Max about a 1 1/2 ago. From my perspective this location was a poorly run & administered. There is no training program to speak of. They hand you a training book with little explanation and your monitor is suppose to assist you. The problem I ran into was that my monitor was more interested in selling cars than helping me through the training program. There is real no immediate supervisor only a manager and location manager. They would schedule selling tests and exams without you knowing just exactly what you your suppose to be studying. The people you work with are friendly but again because it is a dealership their focus is on selling. The turn over rate is fairly high. Benefits are little, no paid sick time. Basically the typical El Paso company. If a remember right I think I lasted 2 weeks. read more

I was leery of going to CarMax to look for an SUV. We were pleasantly surprised! The agent helping us is named Gregory. He was professional and amiable while searching for what we were looking for. Unfortunately we didn't find exactly what we wanted, but he also helped us in getting an appraisal for our Jeep Grand Cherokee. The building was clean, comfortable, and an open concept. All the staff was friendly and very helpful. I gave CarMax 5 even though we felt that the appraisal could have been better, but we sold it to them anyway. Overall it was a great experience. Rude! Came here to have my vehicle appraised. No one acknowledged me or greeted me when I walked in. The guy who answered my questions at the front desk that "I approached" was rude. I'm the customer looking to do business and because their customer service sucks. I'll be going else where. I don't recommend this place. Bad business. read more

I was very happy with the car buying experience. Being able to place a internet hold on the vehicle was great. We scheduled an appointment for a test drive and once we checked in George was there to meet us and show us around the vehicle. I really like the no hassle pricing(price was at the lowest end of the KBB estimate). I'm not a big fan of the back and forth. I came pre-approved through my back and didn't use their financing. From arrival to departure was less than two hours, this included final detailing of the vehicle as well. Would highly recommend getting the extended warranty, it was fairly priced and provided me with some additional peace of mind. Will definitely recommend and us the again in the future. read more

If I could go lower I would. I bought a car in December. I hardly used it because I car pooled to work. Yesterday I finally hit the 3000 mile mark and it was time for an oil change. I'm from Odessa Tx but I happened to be in El Paso were I bought the car. I go to get the oil changed and the tech refuses to touch my car. He said the oil was filthy and I had an oil leak that had been there for a long while. My car had low oil. I drove to Car Max and let them know. They said well we can schedule a diagnosis but you will have to pay for repair and parts. This was their fault. They never inspected this car before selling it like they claim they do. We reported them to corporate and still no help. I was stranded in El Paso for 6 hours afraid to drive this Lemon. Now i'm having to pay for repairs and they dont care. Do not spend your money here. I've opened up a claim with the bank as well. I'm telling anyone that will listen. Wrong people to scam. read more

Purchased my car here yesterday and I love it! At first, I was a bit reluctant to check this place out, but once once I step foot in the door, my family and I were immediately greeted by An employee named RUBY. She was extremely helpful from the start. we looked at the car and I absolutely loved it. Because of Ruby's great customer service I felt pretty confident in buying this car. Ruby was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I am lucky to have had her as our sales agent (although, all the other employees were great as well). What can I say about CARMAX? I had an appointment at 1:30 to sell my car to Carmax. I have now sat here for an hour and forty minutes. I finally had to go to the window and ask. I was told very rudely by Leslie and Jayley in a very hateful manner that it would be another hour or more before they would even get to me. I asked if I could get something to eat and was told I could not leave the premises even in another vehicle other than the one I was selling to them. I have worked in car dealerships for 30 years and have never been treated so horribly. This is the worst experience I have ever had. Very unprofessional. We were pointed at by the girls in the business office and then left for another thirty minutes after we were told to move our vehicle which we couldn't do because no one ever brought us the key back. There was one nice person in the experience that was pleasant a lady named Jenny. I would never buy or sell a vehicle there EVER!!! read more

If I could give 5 stars to my sales person I would .. Dominic has been great ... however the management team there is a complete joke. I started to look to purchase a car from this location started at the end of June. We paid for a Mercedes to be transferred from Salt Lake City to El Paso and we thought everything was going great because we got the email showing that that the SUV had been picked up on July 6th and it turned out the car was never picked up at all. They didn't even know the SUV wasn't picked up until I called to follow up and see what the status was. At that point they got the SUV expedited down there and it was there by the following Thursday. I was finally ok. great they decided to give me back my 299 transfer fee because of the issues. However two days later I get a call saying they can't find the title for the SUV so they can't make the car "available" for sale. Some how or another the title was now lost. I am told that it will be weeks or months before they can get a replacement title so that Mercedes is not available for sale now. So I proceed to look for a new Mercedes SUV since they said they will transfer one in at no cost to me no matter where it is I agree to look however there is only one more that fits the same look and price as the one I had "transferred". At this point it had been 30 days since I got my approval from my lender and I can only extend out my approval for 15 more days and I can't move to another dealer since the approval is technically expired on July 20th. I choose a Mercedes SUV that is only located in dallas Texas ( we live in odessa, tx) so we are 5 hours from dallas and El Paso of course is about 7 hours or so from Dallas. I ask my sales person today if they know around what day the SUV would be transferred in. He says he has to check with his manager and he messages me back and tells August 3rd. I was like what the heck 2 weeks to transfer a SUV 7 hours away??? Reminder I can't switch my loan approval since it has expired to the carmax in dallas and by the time they do the 360 walk around and inspection by August 3rd or later my 15 day extension will be expired ... the sales manager Gayle is a complete joke and has a serious lack of professionalism. I had spoke to her the day I was told that they couldn't find the title for the first Mercedes I had transferred. I told her my concern regarding the timing and that the loan approval was going to expire. The complete lack of responsibility to deal with this horrible situation is worst part regarding the management team. She keeps putting it on my poor sales person to do her job. Sales person has nothing to do with the handling of the transfer, the lost title, and broken promises made by the management team there. I have asked for the general or regional manager to call me and of course she says it won't be until Tuesday. I would love to see what corporate has to say about the way this whole situation has been handled. I will be calling corporate first thing Monday morning. read more

We bought a car from carmax and we love it!! There was no haggling with the salesperson. We had our car shipped from a different location for a fee. It took a couple weeks to come in but once it was in here everything was quick and painless. They do everything online. We loved there huge selection of cars. Where do I start? I bought a 2011 Elantra with 11,000 miles and I was so excited. AAAAAAH BOY WAS SCREWED!!! First week: windshield cracks. Second week: getting terrible gas mileage; take it to my mechanic and find out the air filter had never been replaced It looked like it had been under a tumbleweed in the desert for 3 years. Third week: low tire pressure light comes on and I take it to carmax and they put air in the tires for me. Happens again within a couple of days and find out I need a new tire. I've had to replace the axel and fix the air conditioner, almost $1000 by the way. As we speak, 8 months into owning my car, I now have the air bag warning light on and I'm told it could be 400-500 dollars to fix it. DO NOT GO TO CARMAX. How could a car that had only 11,000 miles have so many problems? Now I'm going to lose money because I'm going to have to trade it in somewhere and get an actual working car. :( read more

Poor Customer Service! The mechanics (or one mechanic in particular) has a horrible attitude. He seems very unhappy and seems to just hate his job. I bought a vehicle here 2 months ago and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. They DO NOT disclose what is wrong with the vehicle just FYI!!! Be careful is all I have to say! read more
