In January 2023 I purchased a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek for my daughter to use in Philadelphia at college. After a month the car started not starting and or shut off after sputtering. We had it towed on 4 occasions to 2 different garages. The starter was replaced but it still had issues. Finally we had to get Subaru cooperate involved and a master technician with a Subaru dealership. Turns out the previous owner had a remote start, antitheft device installed and removed by, we can only assume CarMax, before they sold it to us. The wiring harness was spliced several times incorrectly resulting in it needing to be completely replaced. I would steer clear of this CarMax, or any CarMax if this is how they conduct business. If I could start a legal case against them I would because our repairs will cost over $3k for an entire wiring harness and labor.

Our salesperson was very efficient and helpful. We got our car relatively quickly, and are excited about it.

I move a lot, so I have been a customer at five different Nissan dealerships for over 15 years. I…read morehave been to Nissan dealerships whose service dept ripped me off, who made dangerous and faulty repairs on my car, who did shady things with my car insurance, and who gave inferior customer service. I am of the school of thought that if you pay a premium to bring your car to a dealership, you should be getting top-notch service and a great experience. Landers McLarty's is a perfect example of how it SHOULD be done. It was a relief to me to receive such an excellent experience and customer service when I had my car worked on here. My service rep John was friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. He and his team pinpointed the problems right away and gave me a price range of repair options available to me. They found trouble spots that another shop had completely overlooked (just that same week!). Nissan was thorough, unlike the other shop who charged me $1k for a problem that didn't even get resolved. Had I gone to Nissan first, it would have been done once and it would have been done thoroughly and correctly. I appreciate that kind of integrity and craftsmanship. My 15 yr old car now drives like it's almost new again. They even provided me a complimentary Lyft ride home while my car was being worked on. John provided timely updates, and provided cost estimates for each of the repairs before performing them. There are some repairs I chose to do elsewhere, where it was more cost-effective for me, and John did not try to upsell me or convince to do me otherwise. People complain that dealerships cost more for service. That depends, how many times do you want to have your "repair" fixed? What is that time and inconvenience worth to you? Are repairs expensive? Yes. It's like going to the doctor for your car. If you want a healthy car, it costs money, that's a fact of life. The important thing is that you get what you pay for. At Landers McLarty, the value of my repair experience is something that will continue to bring me back. The cost was reasonable and the experience was great. Thank you!

After agreeing to a price on the new vehicle the salesman told me since I beat him up over the price my interest rate would be 7.9%. I have almost a 800 credit score. I eventually negotiated the competitive rate based on my credit rating. The finance manager was just rude and angry that we got a fair deal. We love the car but would never do business with this dealership again. We have a two year free service agreement but based on the other review there service department I will just pay for my oil changes. Purchasing a new vehicle is a high expense for families and if this dealership does not see there's reviews and recognize something needs to change than the should not wonder why they have a failing business. Business are run by people, culture and customer experience is driven by leadership. The are plenty on Nissan dealers out there save yourself the frustration and go else where.

I initially had a positive experience with University Kia when I brought in my 2018 Honda Odyssey…read morefor a check engine light diagnosis through my Assurant extended warranty. My service advisor, Anthony, was friendly and helpful during the intake process. The dealership even assisted us in obtaining a rental vehicle through Enterprise when we encountered issues, and I appreciated that effort. Unfortunately, my experience took a dramatic turn on the day I attempted to have my vehicle transferred to a Honda dealership after being informed that the repair was actually covered under Honda's warranty rather than my extended warranty. Anthony informed me that Honda would need to handle the repair, which I completely understood and immediately began coordinating. The problem arose when University Kia refused to release my vehicle due to what they claimed was an unresolved Enterprise rental issue. After contacting Enterprise myself, I confirmed that the rental was being billed directly to my debit card, and I immediately relayed that information back to the dealership. I was repeatedly told it would take "just five more minutes" to send me my invoice so the vehicle could be released. As time passed, the situation became increasingly frustrating. The Honda dealership was ready to pick up my vehicle and potentially complete the repair that same day, but University Kia continued to delay the release. Multiple follow-up calls resulted in either being hung up on or having my calls declined. The only way I was able to reach someone was by calling anonymously. What concerns me most is the lack of communication and professionalism. Despite providing proof that the rental vehicle was my responsibility and not University Kia's financial obligation, I was still unable to get a clear explanation or timely resolution. I ultimately had to escalate the matter, request management involvement, and send a detailed complaint to the service manager. While the initial customer service was pleasant, the way this situation was handled on the day of vehicle release was extremely disappointing. Better communication, accountability, and customer service could have prevented hours of unnecessary stress and frustration. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service department.

Nick, our service manager, called and let us know my car was serviced and ready to be picked up. He said the time would be between 2.5 to 3 hours. It took a little over 2 hours. We drove to Lexus to pick up my car. Before we did, we stopped by to see Jeb, our salesman. He is always available to answer any questions and to show us old folks how stuff works. I knew the car seats have massage functions but I didn't realize I have a massage system as good as or better than any high end massage chair. I am glad we stopped by to see Jeb! If you are looking to buy a Lexus, Jeb is a great salesman. He is not pushy and has been truthful to us. Truthful means a lot! The service at Lexus is the best in town. We have owned a Camry and currently own a Ridgeline. Honda is just a notch below Lexus. Both dealerships wash the cars. Lexus vacuumed and cleaned the inside of the windows too. My experience was 5/5.
