Inside, the layout of the store is a bit cramped with old wooden floors and narrow aisles and shelves packed close together. The long row of shelves behind the counter are decorated with a variety of antiques and lots of family photos can be seen taped to the big cooler behind the full service deli counter in the back of the store. They offer a very basic selection of groceries, snacks, candy, cooler drinks, smokes/tobacco products, and miscellaneous household items. The full service deli counter offers sliced meats, cheeses, made to order breakfast sandwiches, burgers, sandwiches, subs, pizza, chicken tenders, boneless wings, fries, fried foods, and salads. Fruit pie slices from Stevens Bakery (Springfield) are also sold here. They also offer hand scooped Young's Ice Cream (21 flavors) in cones or cups. There is a small seating area in the front of the store near the register counter. While driving the backroads through Champaign County, I stopped in here at the deli counter for a Steak Hoagie ($5.49-no tax on takeout food in OH) with pizza sauce and provolone cheese. My sub was hot and ready in about 12 minutes after ordering, paid at the front register. The steak hoagie was pretty good , a bit messy to eat, which was comprised of a large firm hamburger steak topped with lots of thick pizza sauce and melted cheese between a warm crusty hoagie roll. This store seems like to the place to be, especially during the middle of the day during lunch when the place was quite busy. This place was a good stop for lunch. It was my first time there and I boy was I surprised by just how much candy is in this place. I have a natural sweet tooth, so I was able to pick up some of my favorite treats. What a great little place to stop and pick up your favorite candy, souvenirs, trinket's, and more. They even have an ice cream shop inside with what I heard is some of the best ice cream to be had! You can see it from the intersection with the McDonald's, and if you know West Milton that's an easy landmark to find. It's part of the main strip. We like ducky's ice cream in Troy and we also like grandpa Joe's. Its early March right now and duckies is closed for the season. Now I have four daughters, but in particular my fun six year old, who just loves ice cream. I wanted to do something special for them. My oldest says this: The ice cream is great. The customer service is something you don't find it any of the chain stores. You can tell this is a mom and pop and that they care about treating the customers well. She got the flavor called "kitty kitty bang bang", and was pretty good. It might not be a go to favorite, but it was something new, and it was pretty good. It's an original, you couldn't get in anywhere else. Next one says this: I got this flavor called "this just got serious" and it's really good. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is there for the first time or likes caramel, chocolate, or vanilla. Third one got Oreo blast, Oreo madness. She's six and doesn't exactly remember the name of the flavor but it has a lot to do with Oreo cookies. She got it in a homemade waffle cone. She says "I love Lala Sugar land". My four-year-old says: it's so good I wuv (love) it. She got the birthday cake in a regular cone. It's a small mom and pop shop. It's a little bit duckies in a little bit grandpa Joe's. It's over in West Milton, right next to that amazing hill for sledding. The kid at the register was engaged and attentive. She is learning the ropes but she knows a little bit about what they have and what taste good. There's an old rule that says never trust a skinny cook or at least never trust somebody who hasn't tasted what they're selling. They know what they're selling and it is delicious. They have some very nice seating inside, higher stools, and then cute little kids tables. They also have several picnic tables out front in the grass so on a sunny weekend day that would be the place to visit. Good place to stop. Park around back.

We ogled around, then snagged some ice cream (I had the Flight, yummy ) sat outside under the umbrella covered picnic tables and chatted. It was a well worth roadtrip....
