It was originally done in 2020, and fell off for the first time in 2021. She told me that she was going to have to charge me to re-cement it. (I don't have insurance) I asked how much. After about 10 min of runaround with her & the billing specialist, I was told the charge would be $150! I told her that I would pay it because I have no choice, but that i thought it was ridiculous that I would have to pay that much money to glue a crown back on. (I had a previous crown on a different tooth that lasted me 15+ years without ever coming off!) At that point, she told me that she was not going to put it back on for me because "I don't trust her work"! So, after spending almost 2 hours there, I had to leave without getting the crown put on, at 3pm. She was aware that I was going to NC tomorrow and there's no way I would be able to get in with any other dentist this late in the day. And she actually looked really pleased with herself for refusing to do the work. It was honestly the most unprofessional experience I have ever had at any dental office. I hadn't been into the office for a long time, for personal reasons. She took several opportunities to point that out to me as well. As if that was the reason my crown (which to my understanding is permanent & should not be coming off multiple times) came off. I have a lot of dental issues. I have spent thousands of dollars at this office & have family members that have spent tens of thousands. I actually talked to Dr. V today about finally putting together a plan to get to the bottom of all my issues. And now I have to find another office. I really loved Dr. Wong, but he is there anymore. The rest of the staff in the office are AMAZING & SO KIND!! The office is beautiful, with all the newest technology. There are so many nice things I can say about the office in general. But after today, I will not be returning. The way that Dr. V handled the entire situation was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL & UNETHICAL. I now have to drive to NC without my fragile tooth unprotected and deal with it when I come back. All because the crown that they did has fallen out twice in less than 5 years, and I told her that I felt taken advantage of for being charged $150 for that!!

This dentist almost killed me. That sounds dramatic, I know, but here's what happened: I had two…read morecavities scheduled. During my procedure, with laughing gas, I was told that I was going to have a root canal. I was pulled off the gas and told to sign some papers. I did this, and then went back under the gas, feeling nauseated the entire time. It was then the worst root canal of my life; long, painful and nauseated. When I came out the dr and the nurse looked visibly shaken like they hadn't expected it. I was sent home WITHOUT a prescription for antibiotics. Over the next three days, my swelling went from bad to worse as my neck began to swell up in the front. The pain was unbelievable. On Monday I called the office as soon as they opened and todl them that my neck was swelling. I was told to take ibuprofen and use a hot compress. On Tuesday, it got even worse and I began to struggle with the feeling of something in my throat. I went into the office and the dentist looked at me and said "Well, I think it's an infection, so we will give you another round of antibiotics. I said "You never gave me a first round" and they looked panicked. They sent me to an oral surgeon in New Milford who did x-rays. They could see the infection and told me if it got any worse to go immediately to the ER. The next morning, I woke up and could barely breathe. My husband raced me to the ER where they pumped me full of steroids and antibiotics and did a CAT scan on my neck. I was there for nine hours, and I have never been so scared in my life. There are no words to capture how scary it is feeling your windpipe slowly close. When I reached out to the dental team, I heard NOTHING. They did not check on me, they did not offer any help or empathy. This mistake, and their lack of follow up not only almost cost me my life, but it cost around 8,000 in medical bills. When I went to them with a reasonable request to pay back thte money that their mistake had cost me (and nothing more), they couldn't be bothered. I had to pursue it for months until an outside company reached out to me to say they believed they did nothign wrong. I have never gotten an apology or even a voicemail from the dentist. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. When i went for a follow-up to another dentist (since I refused to go back), she told me that my root canal was done improperly and that we would need to do it again because it was done sloppily. I wept in the chair at the idea of having anything done in that area. This was my experience with the Dental Team; one that I unfortunately for my health and my bank account, will never forgot.

I did have to have quite a bit of work done but they walked me through it and explained everything clearly. On the day I returned for the more involved work I was actually looking forward to getting it done and out of the way. Everything went smoothly, the health of my mouth went from neglected to tip top shape: I had a lot of bonding work done, and it's completely different than when I was a kid; there was no pain and it's so modern you cannot even tell what are my teeth and what was added: no more gaps, cracks, or cavities. Also the hygienist who does the cleaning was absolutely terrific. I have since moved from Bedford Hills but will readily return for a yearly visit and also cleaning because I trust the work they did and the results. I needed a root canal, a temporary…read moreput in with some sort of "foundation" and then in January 2023 I had a permanent crown put in. The crown was from their lab on-site which saved me time. I was very happy with the doctor and the service at the time and they really helped me out because my regular dentist was on vacation given the holiday season. However one year later the crown popped out of my mouth today. I take excellent care of my teeth, floss twice a day properly, and see my primary dentist for cleanings and x-rays. I also use other things like an interdental to keep plaque off my teeth. The crown had to be glued back in my mouth and it was basically a five minute procedure. However I was required to pay $51 and was told that this is billable. This is absolutely outrageous. The original work that was done by the dentist should not result in a crown popping out of somebody's mouth after only one year. I am very upset about being nickel and dimed in this fashion. Additionally, the front desk person intimated that it was my care of my teeth which resulted in this problem. I can't tell you how fuming mad I am about this accusation on her part. Update--they reversed the charge per the front desk person. So therefore I changed my review.

This was due to him not being able to locate the cause of pain, as he claimed he had filled all cavities and that it can take up to "two weeks for the nerves to not be sensitive" post-filling. Eventually, he said I might need a root canal. Well, after wasting an incredible amount of time and gas I ended up finding another dentist. They located the hole in my filling and filled it, as well as the other cavities. They told me that was the source of pain and that I definitely didn't need a root canal. I don't have the issue anymore, it was fixed in one visit with another dentist. I was also told I had periodontitis and would require deep cleanings every 3 months. This was also false, as confirmed by other dentists I saw shortly after. My teeth are actually in great shape. When I called them to get my records, they tried to tell me they couldn't "release" them to me. I ended up getting them anyway. Horrible team and staff. They're CON ARTISTS.

This morning a filling came out, so it seemed like a good time to see a dentist. I had an appointment with Harriman Family Dental, Harriman, NY, near where I live this morning. The office staff is great, and the dental hygienist was excellent; very thorough and professional. I was seen briefly by Dr. Rachel Wheaton, one of the dentists on staff. Dr. Wheaton recommended 4 new crowns, which surprised me since I had just been examined by my old dentist 6 months ago. One of the crowns recommended would address the hole in my tooth from the filling that came out this morning. There was no offer of a shorter term, less expensive solution for the problem that brought me to the Harriman Dental office; only a $1657 crown. I indicated that I couldn't do new crowns right now and left for home. I later called to speak with Dr. Wheaton, but she was at lunch. I asked for her to return my call. Later I received a call from the receptionist who said Dr. Wheaton asked me to return to the office for a "consultation" and did not want to do a "consultation" over the telephone. I asked the receptionist to confirm that the doctor was unwilling to do a repair on the tooth, and her reply through the receptionist was that I needed a crown, a repair would not be permanent, and she would not do a restoration. So I am left with a hole in my tooth and a sharp edge until I can afford a crown; and I am less than pleased that Dr. Wheaton would not call me to answer my question. Allan E. Harriman, NY
