Do not use this practice! Their quality of care and expertise is the worst, they can't even properly do a root canal. They can't hold onto their staff or dentists, it's a constantly revolving door. The office manager cannot be trusted as well. They don't even have a dentist check you after a cleaning...never had such a bad experience. Terrible, unprofessional dental office. I don't even know where to begin with this review. 1. Covid Safety - I had an appointment in November 2021, the height of the spread of omicron, and the girls working the front desk let some 20-something year old guy sit in the waiting room without a mask on. 2. Cleanliness - I had 3 appointments in the same exam room over 3 weeks, and a pile of detritus was sitting on the same piece of equipment each visit. 3. Transparency/Professionalism - One of the admins came to extract payment for my procedures WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE EXAM chair. I took my HSA card out of my wallet and before I even had a chance to ask her questions or discuss possible payment plans, she grabbed my card and ran away with it and charged $3500 to it. At my last appointment, I asked the front desk to have their insurance coordinator call me, I have been waiting WEEKS for that call. The girls running that front office sit around and gab like they're in a high school cafeteria, totally unprofessional and clearly not focusing on the details of health care that matter to Putnam Bright Smile's patients. 4. HIPAA Violations - I am getting a dental appliance through a different provider, and upon requesting my records, Putnam Bright Smile sent some one else's records to the requesting provider. So I was up all night worrying about some one else's periodontal disease. 5. Turnover - on at least 2 of my visits the hygienists were new trainees, which isn't very reassuring to some one paying thousands of dollars for a procedure. 6. Bedside manner - Dr. Heller complained to me about being overworked. and didn't even introduce himself to me during my first visit with him. Again, not reassuring to someone paying thousands of dollars for a procedure. At another one of my visits with Dr. Heller, he revealed that they were looking at some one else's X rays while I was in the chair. The only bright spot here was the professionalism and care of Dr. Patel. In every other regard, this office is an absolute mess. I will gladly drive 15 minutes further to a dentist in Danbury who runs a tight ship. Disgraceful administration of health care. read more

i really think groupon has sent me to some of the best companies so why not try a dentist? Sharlene the hygenist was excellent! She was very thorough in explaining everything, she didn't hurt cleaning my teeth and she made me change my oral hygiene to improve it. I've been to dentist all my life and i now know the difference of good hygentist care. This office is an scam! They didn't tell me until after my appointment (cleaning and X-rays were done) that they didn't participate with my insurance and offered me a "new patient price " I filed an appeal with my insurance after paying the bill and my insurance sent me a claim stating I didn't owe any money because they also paid it and I still have not received a refund despite the office getting paid from my pocket and my insurance. I now have a claim out with the fraud department. read more

I've been searching for a new dentist the past few months after my current dentist decided to retire and move down to Florida. After spending countless hours looking up reviews on dentists in the area, my friend recommended Dr. Patel. She told me she was very happy with Dr. Patel and her office staff. Everyone at the office was very helpful, especially one of the girls. I believe her name was Jessica. I filled out some paperwork and handed over my insurance information. I did not have to wait long at all. After they took x-rays and cleaned my teeth, Dr. Patel told me I didn't have any cavities and to keep up what I was doing. I was thrilled, because I try my best to keep my teeth clean. Dr. Patel was really friendly and answered all questions that I had. I really just haven't had a good experience the last 2 times I went. First I went in with no pain and left with a crown and pain x 2 months. Most recently I went back for more fillings and have now been in pain for a week. Again I went in with no pain. I don't like this trend so I'm not going back. read more

I was told I needed two crowns, $1,875 for me to pay -- with dental insurance. Two 2nd opinions said I just needed new fillings. $86.

First let me say that I have no issues with the practitioners that there. Dr Patel is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. However, the billing is shady, they routinely add services that were not performed when they submit your bill through insurance. I have been charged too many times for things that weren't done. Still I went back to them. I needed a dental implant and went to them. When you need a major procedure done, Dr Patel's wife takes you into her office and throws out figures until your head spins. They did not work with my insurance at all. The price they charged me was astronomical. I didn't know it at the time. I didn't shop around. I trusted them. Big Mistake. (That's on me). It is only now 3 years later, when I find I need 2 more dental implants, that I am realizing that Putnam Bright Smile might as well have put a gun to my head and said "give me all your money" So I need 2 more dental implants and I am thinking I need to take out a second mortgage to pay for this. I went to a different dentist near my workplace who was totally awesome and he referred me to "Leading Edge Oral Surgery". Everyone there was so knowledgeable and friendly and worked with my insurance to get the cost as reasonable as possible. When I saw the final cost, I was in shock. For 2 dental implants it will cost me 1/2 of what Putnam Bright smile charged for 1 implant. Need I say more? I am going on every review platform I can to warn anyone who might be considering going to Putnam Bright Smile away. They took advantage of me. Don't let them do it to you! read more

Dr Patel was professional, friendly, and careful to explain any treatment done. I didn't feel rushed and was able to ask all my questions. I get very nervous going to the dentist but the staff does everything to make sure my anxieties are lessened every time I go. They are very knowledgeable and extremely understanding. I have been to many dentists. Many dentists that have hurt me and left me unsatisfied with their work in the past. This is not the case with Putnam bright smile dentistry. I scheduled a routine cleaning visit. It took forever since they do all sorts of x rays, probing and talk to you for a looooong time about getting Invisalign. They do it over and over. First the hygienist talks to you about it, then the doctor comes and checks and talks about it again, then the billing person comes and talks about it again! Finally I got my cleaning done and they said I have to come back for a filling. So I did and guess what? I am talked into getting Invisalign again! Then I finally got my filling and got charged what supposedly was my responsibility $74. Then I pay and got again a brochure about Invisalign! I received a new bill on the mail saying I owe $70! I called them and they said that I got 2 fillings (which I didn't) she changed the story several times and then said she would call me back! She called back and said that actually I owed even more than that so I should just pay the $70! Honestly I feel robbed! A good dentistry place doesn't need all these shadiness to make money! I was disappointed to learn that tooth regeneration isn't a thing yet, but fortunately the doctors at Putman bright were able to save my infected tooth by redoing the root canal, and crown. I was in severe pain and needed to see someone quick. They scheduled me immediately, had me seated within 15 mins of arriving, and really made me feel like Akeem Joffer in Zamunda, in the film Coming to America. I've gone back several times after my first case for cleanings and general checkups, and have had the same experience every time. The staff has been so knowledgeable and helpful (particularly Dr. Patel) that I started asking for tax preparation help, and relationship advice. Would highly recommend this office to anything looking for professionals who seem like they care. read more

Was in town visiting friends from home when I bit into a burnt chocolate chip cookie and chipped my front tooth. @#$%! I totally freaked! Luckily my friend took me straight to her family dentist and they agreed to see me. There was some confusion with my insurance coverage at first (I have military benefits through my husband but left my dental insurance card at home) and the office was really busy so I had to wait a bit so they could fit me in, but Donna and the other girls at the front were as sweet as could be about my emergency and keeping me calm. Dr. Patel checked my tooth and assured me that it would be an easy fix, thank God. She was so warm and patient with me, did a painless bonding procedure WITHOUT AN INJECTION, and I was good as new in no time flat! Actually it probably took me longer to fill out all their patient paperwork and get the insurance stuff straightened out than the whole procedure did, hA. I'm so happy they were able to get me in with such short notice, and the bonding they did is so good that you can't even tell that it was ever chipped. Great work! read more

Bad review. Would never come back. Dentist was awe full. I'm referring to dr. Greenbaum. He is a bad endodondist.he's constantly late for appts. He's in my opinion poor in his responses. While working on my mouth he was rough and he left several times to consult on other patients. When I complained about this he told me I was Lucky to be seen by him. I will not go back. The office staff change constantly and they have no common sense. They did the billing wrong and I'm quite annoyed. Will not go back read more

So I had rescheduled my appt for a filing because Dr. Greenbaum was over 45 minutes late and then when he did come in after I complained about sitting in the dentist chair for almost an hour he didn't know why I was there. I told him during my cleaning I was told I had s cavity that needed a filing. He said he thought they could fit he in that day! I'm therefor the filing and you can fit me in ?! Really. So I reschedule and don't get my confirmation call the day before so I call the office to be told by Priscilla (office worker) that they did not like my review on yelp and suggest for me to find another dental office to move to. Oh and I have 30 days to do so. When I question this is due to my unfavorable review I was told No but we think this relationship won't work out. Un Flipping believable! I left out the horrid dentist name to be nice before but here it is Dr Greenbaum. And oh btw he was sued for Malpractice in Maryland just an FYI! I have never been so insulted.
