Air in room did not work and I called to ask fir a fan or something since I had to go buy one to be able to stay I. the room at all. the front desk person was extremely rude and informed me that did not provide fans and maintenance would not answer the phone. the manager was off until Monday. They told me I could go to the Days Inn down the road. I asked if they would refund me my room so that I could and was rudely told no. They had no room to move me to. Room was absolutely infested with flies and the people who use the place as an apartment were blasted music at floor shaking volumes well into the night. The bathroom facilities looked like something out of a saw movie. Unless you're an illegal immigrant looking for a place to hide or hiring a hooker keep your distance. read more

I had a pleasant experience. Exception the AC in my room wasn't running like it should and we were all hot. I slept with only a sheet. We brought our own big screen tv to watch the LSU game by the pool and they were very rude n called the police who told us we had to leave the pool area with our tv. Ironic cuz they had two other couples who were NOT with our party who seemed to dry humping one another in front of everyone including our kids and they were allowed to stay. After we vacated the pool area the two couples were definitely having sex in the pool ! We stayed there for a baseball tournament. Breakfast ... you are not allowed to serve yourself. They will come to you n take your order then bring you your powdered eggs. The restaurant looked fantastic but we didn't have the chance to try it out. The front desk staff allowed me to have an early check in since I was checking in with my service dog. That was very nice of them. read more

C is for Carmel Inn! C as in Congratulations for running an amazing place! It is Charming, Cozy, Clean and Comfortable. The staff is Courteous and Considerate, right down to noting that my luggage wasnt in my room and calling me to make sure I was alright (I was, it was in the other room with my travelling companions, but their call made me feel like they truly were looking out for my safety and well being, and that I was Cared for). Their Complimentary breakfast is delicious, run by a Capable, Cheerful woman who helps start the day off right! All in all, C may be for Carmel Inn, but I definitely give it an A+!!! I'm only giving 4 stars b/c I've never stayed here, but our family business has used The Carmel's meeting rooms on several occasions, many years in a row. The staff and management are beyond courteous and helpful! There is always someone in management visible and readily available to assist us with any question or need we have. The staff is always diligent to keep us updated should a room change be needed. We've always had enough tables and chairs at our disposal. It costs us roughly $400 for four full days of room rental. And as I mentioned at the first, we've availed ourselves of their hospitality services for several years in a row. I can happily recommend the Carmel Inn and Suites for your hospitality events. read more

This is a nice, safe motel/inn centrally located to all things Thibodaux. Yes, it's a bit dated but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The best part is the breakfast personally served up by a wonderful woman. I will be staying here again if I get back to Thibodaux. read more

This place is terrific! They have a nice and clean swimming pool, rooms are higher-level than a classic days inn motel. They have complimentary bottles of water, diner and breakfast. What a nice surprise. This is a gem hidden in the town of Thibodaux, LA. We are out here visiting family after my brother's passing and found this place after a disappointing stay at a national motel chain a street over from the Carmel Inn. What a difference! Superior customer service, very comfortable rooms (a/c works great! and comfy bed) with microwave and refrigerator in the room. A small but very efficient fitness room, a pool, free hot breakfast, and Pet Friendly! Very nice people and the owners are hands on, not in the background letting others run their business. We will stay here again and definitely recommend this wonderful hotel. Thank you Rhonda and Greg for a memorable experience in hotel life while we were on the road. read more

For the past two years, we have stayed here with a large group of students and could not be more pleased. The staff are always visible and available, as well as courteous and helpful. The management has always provided any assistance, answered questions about the area, and facilitated any needs we have (e.g., opening up the dining room early for a 4:00 AM departure). This is a motel at best. It is clean and the front desk staff was nice, but make no mistake it is not a five star place. Our room faced a busy street and the exterior lights kept our room nice and bright all night long. Our fellow guest were hanging out on the upper level and on the steps enjoying music and conversation until around 11 pm. Check out was at 11 am and the housekeeping staff knocked at 9:30 and 9:45 and even after we said we were still there they tried to come in. We selected this place because of the yelp five star rating. I am not sure we will put as much faith in yelp for our next hotel selection read more

This was perfect for my five nights in NOLA - not too far from the busy downtown tourist areas of NOLA and with car rental, hotel, flight... my entire five night stay was cheaper than 1 night in the over priced French Quarter during Super Bowl. The staff was so nice and very willing to make sure my stay was comfortable. Now, this is not a high-end hotel, but it's not a sleazy, roach infested, crack head place either. Very good value for the money. Typical buffet style breakfast and more than enough to get you started on your day, before hitting the road to whatever shenanigans you might be indulging in. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others. read more
