I just recently moved and this was my third time hiring Carneys. The office is always polite and helpful every time I call and take the time to answer all my questions and concerns. The movers arrived on time and ready to go. They realized I needed one more person for the job and were quick to get another pair of hands. I had a very exhausting job for them including packing most of my apartment and two flights of stairs on both ends! They did a phenomenal job and wore themselves out getting the job done. This place is a complete ripoff. Wanted $700 to move a slot machine 5 miles. When I asked why it was so expensive they said it's because good help is expensive. Ya makes sense until you require a 3 hour minimum of $225 an hour for a job that takes an hour from your office and back. We used Carney's Full Service Movers for both packing and moving in July 2025 and are very happy with their service. From the initial consultation/estimate to the two days of packing and moving and beyond, the customer service was fantastic. The estimate was managed by Kenny, who did an excellent job figuring out how many hours and how much material it would take to get us from our old home to our new home. The final cost was less than expected (hooray!), but very close to the estimate, so there were no surprises there. No deposit was required - they took payment (check or cash only) when they completed the move on Day 2. On the first day of the move, Kevin, Jeremy, and Lee arrived on time and ready to go. We did a quick tour of the house to give them the lay of the land, then they went to work like gangbusters. There was no dawdling, ambling, meandering, or sauntering to be seen - these guys moved fast! Which was especially appreciated as Carney's charged us by the hour, not by the project. They stopped for a few very short breaks, then jumped right back in. We had been planning to buy lunch for them, but on Day 1 they were so fast they were done packing everything by lunchtime (we bought breakfast the next day instead). Day 2 was moving day, and started much the same - arriving on time, jumping right in and moving quickly. At one point there was a slight mishap with a chair, but I cannot call it a negative experience as the response was what you would hope for - management responded right away, apologized, and made it right. It's best if everything goes perfectly, but sometimes things happen and it's all about how a company responds to and deals with challenges that count in our book. The workers went above and beyond, helping with a few things outside of the scope of the project (such as helping me remove a few screws from the wall that I could not get without a power tool, which had already been packed; getting our antenna out of the attic, etc.). Speaking of above and beyond, here is the shining moment: Jeremy found a large stash of cash that my husband had squirreled away and forgot to retrieve before moving day. Jeremy immediately called me over and handed it to me. It would have been so easy for any of them to simply pocket the money as we would likely not have noticed the loss for some time. Thank you for your honesty! That meant more to us than the money. In the late afternoon they called in several more workers to help so the move could be finished in a timely manner, at no extra cost to us. By the time the job was complete (around 5pm) everyone was tired, including us, but the Carney's team was just as professional, courteous, and upbeat as they were on the morning of the first day. We contracted with Carneys to unload our truck. They are not the guys who loaded it. They were prompt when they shows up and very fast to unload our 26' tractor trailer. Everything was placed where it needed to be and they were also very kind in letting my 7-year old help unload a few light boxes with their hand truck. I was impressed within the first phone call. I scheduled a free estimate after I knew my closing date of my new home purchase. The owner, Rob Carney, was very flexible with his schedule and came onsite the next morning. He showed up on time taking detailed notes as I gave him a mini tour to fully understand the scope of the 2 floor, 4 bedroom 3 bath house I was moving from in Sparks. Rob had a friendly demeanor making small talk about my London artwork. I felt zero pressure with Rob in my house and it was like catching up with an extended relative. I learned he's been in the moving business for decades with his shop near Victorian Square. My neighbor later told me her company used Carney's Full Service Movers for their Sparks office move with a great experience. The onsite estimate took ten minutes and he had a general understanding of the scope. He wrote up a formal estimation of 40 pieces of furniture, table chairs and approximately 100 boxes with an estimated load/drive/unload/drive time of ten hours with 2 trucks and 5 guys. Estimate assumes all is packed; however, I learned they'll do the packing for you at a cost. They charge you from the time they leave their dock to the time they returned at $272.40 per hour. I was happy to have it all in writing and know they only take payment (check) AFTER the move is completed. The quote was all inclusive and no up charging for stairs. I did my due diligence after the visit. I checked out the Better Business Bureau - clean! I checked out their license and insurance from the CPCN through the Nevada Transportation Authority and the Department of Transportation and everything was validated. I scheduled my move couple weeks after my closing date knowing it could potentially change during the home buying process. I was also concerned about the potential for snowy weather moving in December as well. I explained this when I called back to make my moving appointment and they did a great job assuring me not a problem and they were flexible. They didn't charge me anything to hold my reservation. Within a few weeks of the reserved move date, we decided to move it up one week since our homebuying process was on schedule. I called Carney's Full Service and they were happy to change my move date with no problem! We touched base a couple business days before the move date to confirm everything was a go for a 7:30am move. Moving day! Two large trucks, one with a hydraulic lift, and a five man crew showed up as scheduled. We prepared for this a month in advance by buying quality boxes from The Home Depot, box labels (bathroom, bedroom 1, etc. - from Amazon) and had all of our boxes (est 100) staged near the front door. I was impressed how fast they loaded those boxes into the truck using moving dollys. Remember, time is money! Prepare...prepare...prepare! I was impressed how they brought enough moving blankets, tape, for each article of furniture, including each chair, wrapped them up and loaded into the truck. They all moved with a sense of urgency and purpose working harmoniously as a team. I asked if they needed anything from me during the move and was told to kick back and enjoy a cup of coffee! They had my 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, two floor 2200 sq. ft. house with backyard patio items on the truck less than 3 hours! They drove one hour to the new address and did a mini tour of the new empty house to understand where things were going. I assumed all the boxes would just end up in the garage and I'd spend weeks digging out. Wrong. They delivered boxes to each assigned room from the labels we placed on the moving boxes. They worked with us onsite to make sure items were going into the right spot. Their attention to detail was outstanding. They had a blue carpet runner from the door that rolled out to ensure the carpet stayed clean. Five guys unloaded two trucks faster than I could finish lunch. They were all fast and efficient working together. Nobody was slacking! Before they left, they wanted me to look inside the trucks making sure nothing was left behind. They also wanted to know if anything needed to be rearranged to my liking. Everything looked great! They were done by 2pm! The best news that it was hours under estimated time and saved me a lot of money. I gave them each a cash tip (I planned on it before learning the total). Wrote them a check, signed off on the paperwork (copy provided) and they were off. I'd use them and refer to anyone looking for professionals at a great value. read more

I do not have enough words to describe the amazing service Carneys provides, from the office team of Angela and Kenny to the moving crew led by Craig. This was my first move of an entire house (4 bedrooms) and I was a ball of nerves. We packed our belongings in boxes (shoes, kitchen, bathrooms, etc). Angela gave me great tips on how to pack and label boxes. They were careful with everything - wrapped all the furniture, but didn't mess around. It was very affordable. I will say I had everything boxed and ready to go. A side note - my king sized bed would not fit out the door and one of the guys disassembled the bed on site and then reassembled it on the other end with no issues, questions, or problems. Just had Carney's finished a moving job for me. Suppose to have 3 guys came over but only 2 guys came, but they did adjust it to a lower rate and these guys did a good job moving too, they finished the job within a reasonable time(3 hours), and so far I haven't seen any expensive item being broken but I do need to check them tonight one by one since I haven't get the time to do it ue I was so happy with them until I went back to my old apt and found two damages to the wall and the baseboard. I will contact them tomorrow morning to see how they wanna solve this and I will give u guy's an update. Update: I called in the morning to explain the situation and the girl on the phone told me she is going to communicate with the owner, for which then he called me personally a few hours later, I won't disclose the detail of the convo, but I told him the reason I didn't watch/ supervise the whole moving process without blinking my eyes is because my friend hired them just 2 weeks ago for a moving, and he told me their price is right and although they did some damages to his house but they were willing to fix it( Although my friend watch the whole moving process so he was able to point out the damage right away on the spot unlike me had to find out the hard way after they are gone.), the owner agreed to sent a repair man to repair the damages the same day( within a few hours), the repair man told me the crack on the wall as well as the baseboard can only be masked, it can't go back to perfect condition, he can only mask it with the paint and make it for ppl hard to spot it. I don't know the result yet, because he told me I gotta wait for the paint to dry and the paint will match the color then, because at the moment right after he was one I said it looked lighter than the clot of the wall. Anyway, I already gave the apt key back to the leasing office, I guess I'll never be able to know the result without having to wait for apt office to call me and tell me how much and why they deducted my deposit. No furniture or glassware was broken, although white furnitures can have black oil marks on them for some reason. If I were u I'll wrap ur door with protect cushion, and watch them the whole time, it's better to point out the damage as they made it on the spot. Update June 6th: So.... yesterday afternoon the desk they disassembled and reassembled for me collapsed. My $2000+ iMac smashed to the floor and screen is cracked, I am not even bothered to contact the owner now, because I know they won't take responsibility. I am lucky because I bought AppleCare+ so it'll only takes $99 to replace the whole screen. Please see my newly updated pictures for what happened. The screws weren't screwed all the way in, one connection( This table is L shape, so you have to connect 3 pieces together) was connected in the wrong way which has resulted this incident. Normally I will give this a one star for sure, but... I got soft hearted for this business because one of the mover cut his finger with a knife but still put it through the whole moving process. So yea, I give it a 2 star. And I'll might use this place again for my future move because the price is right, BUT!!!!!!! I'll ask some of my friends to come over to watch them like a hawk while they work and putting things together. I LOVE writing great reviews, and Carneys Movers is an exceptional company with amazing staff. We just sold our home and originally we were just going to rent a truck and have friends help us move. I decided to call Carneys and see if by any chance they had availability to move us. Wally, the owner said they were fully booked until September because of the boom in the housing market. HOWEVER, he said that he could try and see if he could assemble a crew to move us on a Sunday (their only day off). He made no guarantees that they would agree, understandably since they work 6 days a week. Even though it wasn't certain that Wally would be able to gather a moving crew, I immediately had respect for the way he spoke about his employees. He worked his sorcery, and we were able to have Carneys move us out of our house. The crew: Brent, Rob and Kanen were AWESOME! What would have easily taken us all day to move, it took them only 2 1/2 hours (they have a 4 hour minimum, which is standard). They were super nice, funny, and hardworking. We used Carneys to move my parents about an hour away from their existing four bedroom house in Washoe Valley to Sparks. They have many sentimental (and heavy) furniture including grandfather clocks and an old piano. Carney was wonderful and got the job done right and very quickly. The bidding process was very smooth and the job ended being a little cheaper than they originally quoted! The movers were very respectful and friendly. My parents loved them so much that for the next, much longer move, Carney was the top of their list. While Carney does not do long distance moves themselves, we are using them to help us load up containers that we will use for the out-of-state move. We hired Carneys last month to move us across Reno. It was in midst of COVID 19, so I was concerned. They were the only ones who would do an in person estimate (seems like that was the case with or without the virus). They gave us a reasonable estimate and locked in a move date. Just unpacked one of my last boxes from last May. Will never use these movers again or recommend them to anyone. Pretty obvious this box was dropped or crushed. Practically everything in it (all collectibles) was crushed. All were heavily wrapped in bubble wrap. They also completely broke one of my chairs and handed me $20 for it. The lights in my bed headboard no longer work. Have no idea what caused that since they worked prior to the move. This was a big job and by the end of the day, you could tell they just wanted to be done with it. read more

They were early and I showed the men what we needed to move to storage, they were very professional and did our move with the most care that I could imagine. I had their estimator come a week prior to provide an estimate, which was approx 1376.00 for packing then another 1900.00 for moving the next day. Well, the first day turned out to be 2350.00, so I told them in my business if our estimates are over 100.00 dollars then we get fined by the State of Nevada.
