Although I wanted to plan the wedding myself, I needed help on the ground locally (b/c I live in Chicago), as well as guidance regarding the different phases of the reception, etc. Between April & October we had several conference calls & one in-person meeting. I gave her copies of all the contracts w/ my vendors & she followed up w/ each one periodically before the wedding to confirm all the details were still in place. That by itself is fantastic & extremely helpful when planning 900 miles away! Once we landed in NOLA for the wedding, she was helpful & attentive & by my side 100%. I could ask her any question & she helped w/ innumerable details including but not limited to: tricky relative placecard arrangement, post-reception party decoration, & finesse-ing all vendors. Now that the wedding is behind us, she continues to help by shipping all our reception items back to Chicago so we didn't have to either check 5 bags nor scramble to find a FedEx store. Seriously she is incredible & you are doing yourself a tremendous disservice if you do not call her immediately to help plan/coordinate your wedding! That said, Donovan was great to work with. He answered my long questionnaire without complaint and was always a phone call/text/e-mail away. I was planning my wedding from New York, so knowing that he was responsive put me at ease. His website for music selection was impressive and fun to use and he stuck to our selections. We opted for the package that included a photobooth. We were very happy with the booth, photo quality and staff. We also opted for a slideshow to continuously play during our reception, and Donovan made that happen. All we had to do was provide the photos. Class Act... from start to finish !…read more We flew into New Orleans a few months before the wedding to meet with various vendors (photographers, bakeries, florists, event venues for rehearsal dinner and more). Being perfectionists, it makes us picky; we met with a few photographers in preparing for our destination wedding and although each impressed us, they unfortunately also unimpressed us each time (high marks for 1 aspect but disappointed at the same time by not hearing our ideas, being unclear with their thoughts/ideas, drinking too much during the interview/meeting, having virtually no experience)... UNTIL, we met Kendra ! She arrived at the Roosevelt Hotel on time; just ten minutes into our first meeting with Kendra reassured us that our first impression was overwhelming and our search was over; even went as far as canceling our last 2 interviews immediately after meeting with her... She dressed classy, spoke well, clearly explained her process but most importantly, she listened and understood what we wanted. A few days later, negotiating our contract over the phone from Florida was a simple process and there was no pressure to add more services or other packages. The day of our wedding arrived and we met with Kendra at our hotel (Le Pavillon) to take "first look" photographs; then Kendra joined my fiancé and I and headed over to the French Quarter for interesting photo-opportunities (dancing in the street, inside shops we love and even got some amazing pictures when a Second Line was passing by). And then the special event at Antiones (down the aisle, exchanging the rings, family members shedding a few happy tears, then married). We left the wedding room and Kendra took numerous photographs of family and fun in our reception room. We loved the way she interacted with our guests to get the best photographs. We never felt rushed to get done by a certain time. Most importantly, our photographs were wonderful and there were no hidden fees to get our pictures. Jackie and the folks at 1st Class Catering were AMAZING for our wedding…read more Our food was delicious. Multiple guests came up to us throughout the night and said how exquisite the food was. We had a combination of Louisiana classics (Shrimp and Crawfish pasta, cornbread dressing) and more typical wedding food (roast beef carving station and seasoned greens). Jackie worked with us to customize our menu, never telling us 'no,' and always saying 'we can make that work.' For instance, we decided to swap out the traditional wedding cake for 2 types of bread pudding, which were both delightful. Jackie was always quick to respond to our questions or requests, even though I am sure he was busy with other events. He arrived during our site walk-through to review the location with our event planner. He showed up the day before to get all set up, so we were stress free on the big day. We made a few month-of decisions that he accommodated us with (changing to real plate-ware and silverware). Their display setup and buffet were great, pretty, and well spaced out for our large event. The carving station and pasta stations were great. His staff were extremely professional. They came upstairs when we wanted to enjoy our first few moments as a married couple, and before the party began, to give us a little taste of everything they were going to serve (and make sure we ate). Finally, the bartenders were professional, and kept the booze flowing. There were very few lines for drinks, the cocktails were professionally mixed. Really, you cannot ask for more from a catering group.

We TRULY LOVED our Mardi Gras experience, and that was in large part to New Orleans VIP Experience…read more(aka Mardi Gras Made EZ) and their amazing high level of service! I can not imagine having done Mardi Gras any other way. From first contact, to the weeks leading up to our trip all the way through to the moment we said goodbye, Matthew was responsive, helpful, accommodating and easy to deal with (not to mention thoughtful)! We opted to go all out for our 1st time, and chose a package that included a VIP Balcony (with all you can drink and food) right on the parade route for Sunday, attending the Orpheuscapade Ball (including food and unlimited drinks) Monday night, and ending our Mardi Gras experience with a VIP Balcony on Bourbon Street for Fat Tuesday. All of this came at a VERY reasonable price for what all was included. ...and when I say VIP, I mean VIP! We were on a large (non-cramped) balcony Sunday and at a prime corner location with top shelf liquor and amazing food (all non-stop for nearly 12 hrs!). Monday we had a private car (and a police escort) that got us to the Ball in no time, and were ushered to a table right along the railing to be in a perfect position to catch throws from the parade as it came through the Convention Center prior to the party kicking into high-gear with Harry Connick taking the stage (all while we drink and ate to our hearts content). Finally Fat Tuesday was perfection, as we were treated to a corner balcony on Bourbon Street with a perfect view of the throngs of people wadding up and down the street, and again enjoyed all while throwing back premium beverages! One of the testaments to Matthew and his team at New Orleans VIP Experience (aka Mardi Gras Made EZ), was meeting a couple on Sunday from Florida that said they have use their services for 5 years in a row. I understand why too; I haven't stopped talking about our amazing experience since we got home last week, and will tell anyone who will listen to go to Mardi Gras in NoLa at least once and make sure you call Matthew to make sure your trip is done right!!
