She has taught at FIT for more than 15 years and her services outside of school are top notch. She is patient, personable, and knows her stuff. Moreover, she has an eye for color, has experience with brands (knowing how they cut), stores in the city, and understands the pain of petite shopping! She is a true professional. I took her basic consultation: Color Analysis, Style & Image Consultation. You get some homework to do, to better understand yourself and for Carol to understand where to guide the consultation. And when it comes to the actual appointment, she doesn't nickel and dime you for your time. I came late and stayed late just talking and had an enjoyable experience the entire time -- an important thing since the more you open up about yourself, the more you will get out of the experience. And when I left, I had notes, a completed worksheet exercise, and a color palette (yes, you do get draped!). Why would you ever hire a professional when you won't ever be in front of a camera? Self confidence, frugality (you'll save money in the long run buying a wardrobe that actually suits you!), and quite possibly, the ability to enjoy dressing yourself for yourself. I have had the pleasure of knowing Carol socially, for many years. I have seen her at weddings, backyard parties, dinner in NYC and even for drinks in Paris and she has ALWAYS been beautifully and appropriately dressed. First off I'd like to start by saying that I am a really skeptical person. I never buy into hype and I don't write reviews. But change is good, as Carol showed me just a few days ago. Before I met Carol fashion, shopping and anything to do with my appearance was a tedious task that felt more like hair pulling than anything else. At an hourly rate, Carol is also available to shop with the client and assemble outfits. When I entered my late 50s, I wanted a new wardrobe to compliment my lighter coloring and rounder, softer shape; yet I also wanted good value for the limited investment I could make. After an extensive search, I found Carol and decided to work with her. We did the consultation and she told me where I could find clothes, undergarments, and shoes to meet my particular needs. I was nervous about putting her advice into practice so I asked her to go shopping with me. By the time we met at the store, she had assembled a dressing room full of gorgeous clothes for me in the right sizes and in the right price range. I recently hired Carol to help me with my personal image. I am hospital leadership executive in my early 50's. I hired Carol to help me bring my style to the next level.
