I don't like shopping, I don't like spending too much time in front of my wandrobe, and I don't like the feeling of not being sure about my style. That's why I made an appointment with Nejla and she really did a great job. The communication before our meeting was very quick and easy and during our initial consultation she figured out very quickly what I wanted and needed (and what was difficult for me to describe). She also was very considerate by asking me to what she should pay attention during our shopping appointment. This made me feel that Nejla was really interested in making our shopping as comfortable and efficient as possible for me. Before our shopping appointment, I was a little nervous, just because I didn't know what would happen, but after we entered the first shop I realized immediately that Nejla knows exactly what she is doing. She picked clothes and colours which were different from what I normally would choose but which were at the same time not too alien to me. Sometimes she made me try something just in order to see what is working on me and what doesn't (and she explained why). She was very well organized: She had a (hierarchical!) list of things we wanted to shop, always kept an eye on my budget and the time, and had figured out our route in advance. At the end, I had exactly what I wanted: some key pieces which are all interchangeable with each other and which I can put together without spending too much time (and toughts). I can't wait to wear the different combinations! After our consultation she send me a follow up in which she gave me not only a useful summary, but also some additional information about where I would find more clothes for my style. And she recommended to me a hairdresser who did a wonderfull job. I really can recomment going shopping with Nejla: She is efficient, honest (very important when it is about style), and not least a very nice and friendly person. If I lived in NYC, I'd definitely do it again! read more

I have suffered from an eating disorder for five years, but began my journey towards recovery this fall and have made tremendous progress since. For many (but not all) people with eating disorders, severe body dysmorphia and low self-esteem accompany the disorder, and for me this got worse as the disorder dragged on. Hiring Nejla has honestly been one of the most important practical steps in my recovery thus far, and I could not possibly thank her enough for that. Nejla was extremely sensitive to my insecurities and did not push me to do anything I was uncomfortable with. For instance, I told her I have never been comfortable wearing leggings as pants, and she accepted that without question and moved on. On the other hand, she was not going to let me hold back just because of minor fears. She said that every piece of clothing I wore to simply hide my body had to go, and when I was unsure of things like 'are you SURE my butt isn't too big for this body hugging dress?' she was quick to say 'you look fantastic, go out and rock it!' Nejla's goal was to improve my self-esteem and body image simply by putting me in clothes I looked and felt good in, and man was she successful. Beyond that, Nejla is a professional shopper. Amazing job! Hiring Nejla Renee is one of the smartest things that I've ever done. Like most women in the metro area, I live in an apartment with limited space and storage options, to say the least. My partner HATES clutter and my accumulation of "stuff" drives him crazy! The cherry on the cake, I am a new mom and a baby = an entirely new influx of "stuff." Cleaning out my closet is not my idea of fun and my procrastination led to unnecessary stress on my relationship, as well as an intensified feeling of being overwhelmed when my daughter was born. Nejla is so stylish! I was inspired to get back on track after years of "forgetting" myself. We did a closet cleanse. I had no idea that some of things I was wearing was communicating poor miss little house on the prairie! Seriously. With a careful eye Nejla selected items that communicated my true personality. Nejla really really I mean really showed me why stylists are necessary in the world. I always thought stylists were "rip offs." Boy was I wrong!!! Other stylists I had talked to were all about spending a fortune on designer names, but Ella found me some incredible deals. Yes, I bought some quality pieces, but I never felt pressured to buy anything I didn't want. I found her to be professional, smart, and compassionate.
