Really this place is pretty nice, especially when you consider it's in a busy part of town. The only deduct for points is the fact that parking, as the other review indicates, is a nightmare! I wish would had read the previous review and found out about the paid parking for $4-5. Well worth it. We actually almost skipped because we weren't able to find anywhere to park. Now, as you drive down the main road, every time you go over a larger than normal speed bump, that is an indicator that there is a beach access walkway. Really good idea and helped us know how close we were to access points when we were looking for parking. So, as you probably guessed, the closer you are to an access point the worse off you are for finding a spot to park. As we continued down the main strip we were fortunate and came across a spot somebody must have just left from. Made the small hike (less than 5 minutes) to the beach and discovered an absolutely amazing beach. Nice white sands. Gentle surf that you could wade out in. Still enough for people to play with boogie boards. People on jet skis (further out). A person trying to parasail. On the back side of the beach were some palm trees that offered some shade from the sun. Quite a few people had found some space, socially distanced to set up camp in these locations. Offering the best of both worlds. A little shade...a little sun...great beach/ocean views. Really glad we went ahead and stuck it out to find parking and check this place out, really awesome beach!
Me and my family came to this beach because there are Lifeguards. Lifeguards are hard to find in Puerto Rico. The waves were fun- not too big and not too small. Just so you know you can rent chairs, umbrellas, and fold-up tents. The empanadas are excellent at the food shack, and you can also buy beer and drinks. There are also pavilions with grills and seating. It is fun to relax. I recommend going here!!
My AirBnb was oceanfront and got to wake up everyday to the beauty of the sea. I love Carolina beach because it's for the grown and sexy. It's not as hectic as Condado I find vendors come to you selling the most amazing food which of course I buy to support the locals and make my stomach happy. Will definitely be back again. read more

Very clean and beautiful beach. Depending on the section you enter the water, you might step on rocks so just be cautious. read more
I was walking with my significant other and we came across the entrance to this beautiful beach. It was catchy and it pretty much dragged me in! Starting with the entry, I was impressed and ready to explore more. There wasn't a fee to get in! The sand was clean and I liked how there were slopes of it not far from the North Atlantic Ocean. The ocean was beautiful. Even the trees were awesome! I had to get rid of some clothes and set down my belongings to snoop in the ocean. The waves may have looked small, but they really kept me in there, so be careful! The shore may become distant faster than you think if the waves are close to what they were when I visited. I had a nice swim, though! It was a hot day and the ocean gave me a refreshing feeling. The whole area I walked around seemed to be really clean. I'm glad that this beach was taken care of properly. Overall, this beach was a great stop! The landscape was really relaxing throughout my visit. I really recommend at least coming here to walk around and soak in the view! It's nice but not for those who need and like seclusion. They have drinks and food to buy. Umbrella and chair rental. Kid and dog friendly. Parking is $5. read more

Carolina Beach in Carolina is a beautiful and well maintained beach that has everything that you want in a beach and more. The views and water are fantastic and make you want to stay for a while. Well worth the visit for a great beach with plenty to offer here. read more

2017's 100 Reviews Challenge! 8/100: Probably one of the most known beaches in Puerto Rico, specifically in the metropolitan area. About 5 minutes away from the airport, right in "Isla Verde", you have "El Balneario de Carolina" (Carolina Beach). For those of you who don't know this, Carolina is a city in the metropolitan area. As a matter of fact, the San Juan International Airport is actually in the city of Carolina, instead of San Juan. However, since San Juan and Carolina are next to each other and San Juan IS the capital of Puerto Rico, I guess that for practicality and commercial issues, it was easier to name the airport after the Capital City. *Side-tracked* Going back to this beach... Not the most beautiful beach you will see in PR, but still pretty awesome considering how many people visit this beach daily. Very public and plenty of well known hotels, pub, dance clubs and restaurants surround this beach. Tides can sometimes become a bit high, but nothing too dangerous that you can't get in (Unless the yellow or red flags are up). You always see locals selling "helados" (our take on sherbets) or handmade jewelry and this beach is so big there's always a good spot to sit on. Very clean and with umbrella and seat rental available, this beach is ideal for tourists or locals that live in the metropolitan area and want to quickly visit the beach. Only downside is that parking is CRAZY, unless you are willing to pay $4-5 dollars for all day parking, you can easily spend 2 hours looking for parking. So definitely pay the $4-5 dollars for parking, it's worth not having to waste time in traffic, since this area gets a lot of traffic. Enjoy you visit and take sunblock with you!! read more
