Amy was friendly, answered all our questions and warmed us some water to try her teas. She let us hang out on the property with our dog so we could relax and make some lunch before we hit the road again. Very peaceful experience.

The soft aroma of lavender upon the breeze, bees creating a soft buzzing sound, and a view of the sky bigger than the state of Georgia. This oasis from the urban setting is just outside of Dearing. Now I've had interaction with the owner before visiting, even purchasing some of the lavender rooibos tea with mint (one cup in the evening and you are ready for bed!). But to go there is an experience everyone within a 50 mile radius should know. That afternoon was sunny and free of clouds. The lavender, basil, and sunflowers were in bloom. Tomatoes were close behind. "Peaceful" doesn't even begin to describe my time walking around the property. It was like a day at the spa, minus the terrycloth robe. There are plenty of chairs/benches to have a seat, including some around a fire pit (for the cooler evenings). Though I expected all of this on some level, my amazement grew as I entered their shop. You thought the lavender was strong outside, but then you enter an enclosed space. Lavender batches drying along the wall, lavender candles, bath salts, lip balm, even infused in spices (such as salt, rubs for meat). I left that day with a carpet powder and linen spray. And I plan to return for more in the near future.

Where can I find it in Charlotte? I pinged them on their website chat this week and asked where it is for sale. They suggested Savory Spice and since I haven't been there (another review!), I made it this morning at opening time. Yes, they're open on Christmas Eve. Other than the honey, lots of spices organized by region. Grilling spices. Baking spices. Cocktail spices. Prices clearly marked and everything displayed for easy browsing. Pretty much everything you need to add flavor to whatever you're cooking. And yes, Cloister Honey! Savory Spice is on the north side of Atherton Mill, next to O-Ku. I love Rosewood Market, and it's really a staple of the local community! I love shopping here due…read moreto the fact that the vast majority of items are locally and freshly made, making it easier to support state farmers and local businesses, and ensuring that your produce wasn't sitting in the back of a truck for weeks before you buy it. They also have a lot of niche items that you can't find at your big-box stores, making it great for specialty-product lovers (in my case, coffee!) like myself! My only gripe, and the reason for four (4) instead of five (5) stars, is that it's VERY expensive. Let me reiterate that I like to support local businesses, and I completely understand that items are not going to be quite as cheap as the major grocery chains; but, some of the products are so expensive that I can't justify spending that much money on them. As such, I can only go to Rosewood Market to buy an item or two, and can't shop there as much as I'd like to. Anyhow, I do love Rosewood Market, and would encourage everyone to at least stop in!

It's such a cute shop located in downtown Columbia. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They have so many alternative food options and herbs to choose from. There was a wall of some of the best herbs out there and their vitamin/supplements section had so many different and rare options that you don't normally see in stores. They also sell local items which is always nice to see and a preference for me when shopping. There is also a hot food section with some really delicious options. Perfect for a quick lunch break. I tried the vegan meatballs which were made with pea protein and were so delicious. They had the perfect meatball texture, seasoned really well, and the sauce that came on it was so good. You also get 3 sides and a house-made sauce, so I choose spaghetti squash, potatoes, and broccoli with the spicy mayo sriracha as my sauce. All the sides had really light flavors in terms of seasoning, but were all still really good. The sauce was also really good. They really fill your plates up so you definitely get more bang for your buck. They provide an outside seating area as well as utensils so you can eat and enjoy your food. Don't skip the desserts by the deli, there were so delicious options that provided gluten free and some vegan treats. I also saw that they offer free yoga every Sunday at 2pm and Wednesdays at 6pm! I will definitely be by for yoga and back to shop more and try more of the deli meals!
