I cannot say enough awesome things about our experience on this boat…read more We were doing a large "family" vacation and there were 12 of us so we opted to rent the entire boat for a sunset cruise. Two hours for $400. You really can't beat that price since you usually pay $35-45 per person for a sunset cruise. The boat isn't very big but there is a middle BAR area where you can put ice and drinks with 8-10 "stools" surrounding it. Apparently you can "paddle" the boat yourself but our group was more interested in drinking. There is also a seating area the front of the boat where up to four people can sit. Captain John was FANTASTIC! He caught our vibe really quick and turned on some fun lights and DJ'd our party all the way from the docks, to the sound, all the way to the ocean (where we promptly turned around to come back!) We drank and danced and laughed for two whole hours. It was a slow easy ride and so much fun. There were several people in our party that had never done that before but everyone was ready to do it again. HIGHLY recommend!

This is one of those places I'd go to once just to see what the hype is about, then never again. We…read morewent on a mild day during the low season. Not many people around, but still very touristy. Lots of restaurants along the boardwalk. Prices are all high and no wait for a table during low season. The views of the inlet are nice and seeing all the different boats tied along the dock was interesting. If you visit the Walk to eat at a specific restaurant, they will validate your parking if you park on their lot. Just make sure you ask for it. If you're just there to walk around, see the boats and the views, then it's paid parking and can be expensive (we paid nearly $20 for 2 hrs at a lot across the street). I've heard of people getting towed during high season for parking violations. I'm glad we visited on a nice day but Marsh Walk is one and done for us.

Taking heed of a recommendation from our hotel, my wife and I took a late afternoon to drive across…read moretown to visit the Marsh Walk in the village of Murrells Inlet. We enjoyed it, though probably would do a different visit the next time we are close. Murrells Inlet refers to a saltmarsh and the small village that contains it. What was neat was to admire the large amount of saltmarsh cordgrass that grew all over the inlet. There is a large pathway around the marsh, with a lot of restaurants and water activities available. Most of them were open, but not really operating at full capacity due to the time of year and non-ideal weather (rainy). Some of the more recommended restaurants in the area are located here, most with a lot of outdoor seating. There is also opportunities for activities on the water, including boat rides, canoe/pontoon and ski-doo rentals. There is plenty of parking in the area, but all require payment via your phone. It was $20 (plus a service fee) for 2 hours of parking. We later learned this is quite high for the area. Validation is available, but the problem was that it requires pre-payment (since there is no ticket), choosing a restaurant before arriving. We weren't sure what we wanted to do, so just started out with 2 hours (the minimum time span). The process left a little sourness for us newbies, and could probably be optimized for visitors.
