There's a bed, bathroom, shower and a very large tub, which my wife loved. The midwives are very responsive. My wife had a 37 hour labor. Once active labor began we were at the birth center from 10pm to 9am and they were of course with us the entire time giving incredible support. My wife had to be transferred to a hospital because of a host of complications that were out of our control. The midwives arranged everything with the hospital and drove with us to the hospital and stayed with my wife until she was in her hospital room. Post-natal care has been phenomenal as well. The lactation advice has been a game changer. Sweet people, loved working with them! Thank you so much Bethany and Vicky!

We have been comfortably and confidently nursing after just a few visits, and I will likely continue to check in as long as I am lactating. I love that they take many different insurances and have a functional home-like space. They also provide hot teas and adorable teacups. Don't hesitate to talk about postpartum mental health, birth control, return to work, bottles/pumping, or other related topics. They will help where they can and often know where to refer for various things. Bethany is very knowledgeable, direct, and supportive. I love her sense of humor. She has helped me brainstorm and problem solve for things no one else on my care team has been able to. They fill a much-needed gap and do incredible work. My newborn son fed every hour and breastfeeding was excruciatingly painful due to a tongue, lip, and cheek tie we didn't know he had. At 2.5-weeks-old he got only his tongue tie clipped by an ENT. After this, nothing improved. Breastfeeding was still completely painful. Once I found Michelle, everything changed. She came to our home and did a thorough full-body assessment. She provided us with a care plan complete with photos to help us better understand my son's issues. She found he had a posterior tongue tie that needed to be released (of which was not addressed by the ENT) and referred us to a pediatric dentist more specialized for tongue ties (Dr. Crutchfield at Rocklin Kids Dentist). The first feeding after the revision, breastfeeding was no longer painful. Michelle helped us all the way through recovery, into pumping prior to me going back to work, and all the little nuances in between. Without Michelle I would still be in excruciating pain. Either that or I would have had to end breastfeeding prematurely. I am so thankful for Michelle and all her guidance for my son and I. My only regret is not finding her sooner.

This was one of the best decisions I made throughout pregnancy/newborn stage. Michelle came into our home to support our breastfeeding hopes, and she continued to provide support in the following weeks. She did a full evaluation and found my baby had a posterior tongue tie that isn't recognized by Kaiser--so when they evaluated her in the hospital after birth and told me she had no tongue tie, I assumed she didn't and that breastfeeding would be simple. Michelle came equipped with a variety of information and supplies, and helped us navigate this tricky situation. She supported us every step of the way and pivoted with us as we changed our goals and plans, while providing excellent information for various scenarios. This allowed us to make informed decisions that best fit our needs. I had a difficult time with my first accepting that breastfeeding wasn't going to work. This time, Michelle's support prevented me from a negative spiral and actually made me feel confident in my choices. I feel incredibly lucky to have had Shalin as my doula for the birth of my second child! Shalin is…read moresuch a warm, caring, and genuine person. As a doula, she is extremely capable, professional, and supportive. When I first connected with Shalin via videochat for a consultation, she instantly made me feel comfortable. I decided to go with Shalin based on how experienced and knowledgeable she seemed, as well as how comprehensive her doula services package was. Over the course of my pregnancy, Shalin visited my house several times to educate my husband and me about the birthing process, evidence-based approaches to birth, and different ways to prepare my body for birth, and to go over my birth plan. The whole process made me feel really prepared for the birth and gave me a greater understanding of what I wanted for the birth. I also appreciated that I got to know Shalin more during the pregnancy so that she didn't feel like a stranger at all. In fact, she is so warm and friendly that she felt more like a friend! She didn't push any particular views on me but wanted me to feel supported in my birth preferences.  When I went into early labor, Shalin was very responsive and kept checking in on me to see how labor was progressing, and when we decided to go to the hospital, she was super quick to meet us there. She was prepared in every way and set up lights and candles for the room. The hospital room was a vibe and very peaceful! Since I gave birth in a hospital setting, it was also important to me to have someone who could help advocate for me. When my hospital care team asked me to do certain things, Shalin checked in with me to see if I wanted to proceed with what they were asking. During the labor, she suggested different laboring positions and did counterpressure and other comfort measures, which helped me tremendously in coping with the pain. With Shalin's help and support, all my birth preferences were met! I had such a positive, empowering labor - something I never would have thought possible after my first delivery experience (without a doula).  I loved having Shalin as my doula and I highly recommend her! I can't stress enough how having her as my doula made such a difference to my second delivery experience. I am so happy with how everything went and really couldn't have done it without Shalin!

I was determined after having my first child that the next two times I would have a doula! Yay me for following through! I contacted Dolphin Doula & Yoga and chose Jen to be my doula. A doula is so much more than just a birth coach; a doula is a partner and sister to help you before, during and after. With my second child we danced during labor in the hospital. With my third, stuck in a diagonal breach position, Jen was there to help me meditate and relax while the doctor performed a "version", turning the baby from the outside to get the head down. Yes, baby stayed head down and was delivered in the next few days! Whew!

My midwife recommended Paula and she got back to me right away and set up a video call so she could help me with latching my young man. Paula was so kind and gave me lots of tips and worked with me on a care plan that had my baby and I successfully nursing within a week of speaking with her! Now my son is latching without any issues and gaining weight very well. Without Paulas guidance I would have felt very lost in this delicate postpartum time in which breastfeeding can be so hard.
