The office is nice, clean and new feeling located right off Hwy 19. His secretary is also very nice and accommodating. Record transference from another Baycare facility doesn't happen, even if you wait 3 months for first appt. Maybe it's just me and my spouse, who were lucky ones that were dropped by our primary because their hours were reduced, that we needed to choose a new dr. In spite of a free annual through our insurer, asking anything health related caused a new office visit charge to apply. My first visit when all the referrals and procedures , EKG, done in office were billed they'd total in excess of $1000. Blood, Echo, Diabetic nutritionist, ophthalmologist, cardio, all ordered , because of general overweight and slightly raised AC1 would have been 1500 if all done. I have to make known my insurance limits before going back for more 'pain.' i might agree to only taking care of one thing at a time. It was all very frustrating, especially when a followup a reveal of the AC1 same results were slightly less than the previous one diagnosed as Diabetes. Why has my health costs so dramatically increased since my regular primary care dr's last appointment 3 months prior, am I dying? My wife's new patient visit wasn't any better. She was told her blood pressure was elevated and required an immediate EKG by the dr. She tried to explain maybe the cortisone injections she received the prior day and the resulting pain played a part. This was refuted by the nurse, who also refused to tell her her blood pressure. Answering the dr need to be consulted and would do the EKG, what a comedy of 3 stooges variety, even with the main characters , running out the door only to return with electronic medical devices in preparation for the Dr to use, and running back out to advise on this 'critical' patient. My wife's preempted response was no problem, promising to return when her health and blood pressure were normal enough to be shared, lol. If I go back there, it'll be just to see if 'standard of care' and patient's EOB responsibilty can live together in harmony at Baycare facilities.

just now New I have…read morebeen with Dedicated Senior Medical Center for 16 months now and it is progressively declining. They were solid Gold now they are Tin! Dr Torres and Nurse Practitioner Singh and D The volition of Dedicated Seniors model plan they had is failing They must strive to achieve a better stabilization of staff. The staff is like a revolving door. There is no continuity of care with Senior patients when you are constantly firing and pulling staff from other centers to cover. Then the other staff goes back to their original center and you have to deal with more new people who don't know your situation or medical issues. Quit UNPROFESSIONAL THEY ARE NO LONGER A PATIENT ADVOCATE! I have only been there for 16 months and they have created a negative environment and they aren't informing the patients of any changes. "That is "not until the situation arrives! When I joined there was a beautiful, warm community that connected with the patients and knew what made us happy and spent time with us. There were all sorts of events and activities and healthy snacks with a progressive, clean and organized used clothes section and free farm days with wholesome vegetables and fruits. . You didn't find out about it by patients talking about it. The staff let you know everything that was available to you. The whole staff encouraged movement and they understood the importance of independent mobility. The staff was happy and friendly with each other. Now just the opposite, no one except one or two people smiles and look you in the eyes. No one acknowledges that you entered the Center. Staff is nervous, not talking, looking for things, feeling uncertain and uncomfortable and it reflects in their non connection with the patient. Who wants to go to a center where no one is friendly and afraid and avoid questions. I don't like being lied to. To avoid answering a question when they know the answer but is afraid to say it, is an act of lying. Last week we had our regular scheduled Tai Chi class. All of the patients who attended drive their own car to get there. Which is costly because of high gas prices but they love the instructor and know the importance of movement for the elderly. Upon arriving people in the class told us it was canceled and that the instructor had been notified. They knew that it was very unlikely for the instructor not to notify them. So they waited in the lobby until the instructor showed up. We could not go into our usual meeting room because all of the staff were in a mandatory meeting where we had Tai Chi. The instructor asked what was going on and why wasn't she notified. They said they called the instructor and she said well that's me and no one called me to cancel the class. The instructor was very proactive and said well these people will have the class because I wasn't informed. So we all helped in moving chairs and tables and had our class there in the lobby. Which was a positive move by the management. We are all over 65 and need our exercise and socialization. It didn't cost the Center because everyone came with their own car, we set up the lobby and moved everything back. But they always use to have available water to drink for all of our activities because most seniors are dehydrated and don't drink enough. The hydration is important for activities, high blood pressure, different diseases and merely to encourage people to drink when exposed to sun and hot temperatures. There were salty snacks which is bad for blood pressure, renal problems and cardiovascular problems. No more fruit available in nearly 2-3 months . There are no more really good snacks. Most ships fail to sail with all new hand decks. The captain ( Dr Torres and his first mate nurse Practitioner Singh fortunately are still there at the helm. But they need help. I was told when I started that they had several Doctors in the Center working. I have yet to see another doctor unless they are rotating doctors divided between all of the Clinics. Too much has changed in my short time there since I arrived 16 months ago and I am not happy or satisfied. I have said goodbye to several friends who have moved on not because they wanted to go, but they weren't happy here anymore and the constant change in administrative positions has been poorly represented. There is no more unity or care team or patient advocacy! It left with all the people they got rid of. No one acts as if "patient care " is important. Gravely inadequate!!!

If you are wanting a Dr who cares about you as a patient and who listens to you and tries to treat…read moreyou based on your individual needs then STAY AWAY from this Dr. He doesn't care about any input you may have on YOUR medical treatment or any concerns ect.. All he cares about is his opinion on what he thinks is best and he doesn't even pretend to listen to you. Before I even stated my concern and before I could ask one single question he was telling me that he had other patients to see. I wanted an explanation on a few things but because he felt I had done something against his rules, he didn't think I deserved any info on my medical treatment. I sat there with my jaw on the floor as he spoke AT me and repeated "thanks, I have other patients to see. You may go now!" there is-a ton more but it's all basically telling you the same thing. He is an awful Dr Who believes only his opinions are right and worth listening to. And god help you if you make a mistake because if you do, then youre not worth making eye contact with much less listening to your concerns or questions.
